Biography: Ren is the third child out of five. He has lived his whole life in Hogsmeade. He enjoys learning guitar from his father, and keeps his younger sister Dahlia entertained. He has an older sister, Miranda, who is too grown up for his taste. She’s only 14 but likes to boss him around. Ren just wants to run around and play and have fun. He doesn’t see his oldest sister terribly often since she went to Hogwarts, but he thinks she’s pretty cool.
A few summers ago, his mother, father, and oldest sister went to St. Mungo’s for his new youngest sibling to be born, while he, Miranda, and Dahlia were watched by the neighbor. Ren hoped he’d get a brother, already being surrounded by sisters. But when his father came home the next morning with tears in his eyes, it was worse than he could have imagined.
It was strange, having a ghost as a mother. She couldn’t play with him like she used to, and was sad a lot. But she was still around, at least? With their mother unable to do much for them, Ren and Dahlia were enrolled into daycare, while Miranda stayed home and helped her take care of his new sister (yes, sister), Mara.
A year after Mara was born, his mother left to go teach at Hogwarts. This made Ren sad too. He loved his mom and hated to see her leave. He’s glad he’ll get to spend more time with her now that he’s old enough to go to school.

Personality:Ren is the type of person who can befriend anyone. The only time he wouldn’t like someone is if they were being mean to his friends. He likes going outside and going on adventures and getting dirty. When he grows up, he wants to be a professional Quidditch player, and hopes to make his house’s Quidditch team.
Appearance:Ren has a slim but athletic build. He has brown hair and blue eyes, just like his father.

A place eleven-year-old Evangeline had not yet travelled since her arrival at Hogwarts.
A place she really was just fine with not knowing; but it was too late. The dare had been accepted, even if it had been done in fear of being kicked out of Gryffindor, like the older girls had said she would because Gryffindors were supposed to be brave.
The air changed instantly when she hit the main corridor of the dungeons. The dampness was almost too much for her and she instinctively took a deep breath to avoid the sensation of being suffocated. There was also a sour burning smell which Evangeline assumed was from many, many Potions lessons.
Further and further she walked, her steps so slow and gentle they made no noise against the stone walls and floor. The feeling that she wasn't alone crept up her spine and raised the tiny hair on the back of her neck. Shivering, Evangeline wrapped her arms around herself. Suddenly, she missed the warmth and comfort of the Gryffindor common room. The fire was always going and it made her feel at ease.
Why had she let those girls talk her into this? She was only eleven, she didn't have to be brave. Surely the Headmistress would not kick her out of Hogwarts for not being brave.
If only she had these thoughts while being dared to search for the ghost of one Emma Birch, whom supposedly haunted the dungeons. It was not, Evangeline had learned, the place where the sixteen-year-old girl's life had ended but as she had been from the house with a snake as its mascot, it was the place her spirit had returned to. That common room was down here somewhere, she'd been told.
Something - the small blonde girl wasn't quite sure what - but something made her stop in her tracks suddenly. There was a low, dull thumping noise. Or maybe that was her heart beating so loudly she thought it was coming from outside her body.
"H-h-hello?" Her voice was barely above a whisper.
Remembering that she was supposed to be brave, Evangeline tried again.
"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"
The sound of her own words bouncing back at her off the walls made her jump.
Ren had heard all the stories of Hogwarts from friends and family, but actually being here was so much more than he could have imagined. Every day, he explored. Every day, he found something new. He hoped there would never come a day he’d stop finding something new.
Today was no different. He’d been to the dungeon before but had never really explored it. There were rooms and hallways for the finding. He’d found really cool stuff before. What if he found a room just full of candy? Like in Hansel and Gretel but without the getting eaten part? He was making himself hungry, now convinced there must be a room made out of peppermints and gingerbread.
"H-h-hello?"Ren stopped. It was a girl’s voice. It sounded… scared? (What was so scary when there could possibly be a room made out of chocolate?)
"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"Who was Emma Birch? He had yet to meet anyone by that name. “No, it’s just me, Ren Cole!” he called back to the unknown girl. “Do you know if there’s a room made out of candy somewhere in the castle?” Despite the fact he had no solid reason to believe there actually was one, he had now convinced himself one must exist somewhere in the castle.
