Hometown: Tunbridge Wells, Kent

Bloodline:
Halfblood

Magical Strength (pick one):

Biography:
Millie stood on the swing in her back yard looking up at the sky. The sun was just beginning to rise over the hill behind her house, and for some reason she felt so connected to the world when she stood there. Her hands gripped the ropes tightly and her toes curled around the wooden base. Anticipation welled up in her chest as she watched a large brown owl with a large letter in its beak fly towards her home and into the kitchen window.

Growing up Millie had always wished she could just run. Not exactly from anyone or anything, but just in general, she just wanted to get away. She wanted more than anything to get away from the cookie cutter suburban street that she grew up on. While most people would love it and would be more than happy to be in her living situation, she wanted nothing more than to get away.

She had grown up knowing about the existence of magic. Her mother, Marie, had come from a very proud and respected pure-blood family. But Marie was one to go against the grain and fell in love with a muggle doctor that she had met on a trip to London, named Richard. But it wasn’t only Richard that she fell in love with, it was also the world that he lived in. Everything about the muggle world seemed just as mystical to her as magic would be to a him.

The two got married and lived in muggle London for two years before Marie got pregnant with a soon to be Millicent Anne. But Millie never got the change to meet her muggle father, weeks before she was born he was mugged while walking home from the hospital that he worked at and left for dead in an alleyway.

The death of Richard had devastated her mother, who felt that the only way that her daughter would know her father was to raise her in the muggle world. She moved with her infant daughter to a small town called Tunbridge Wells, where she raised her daughter by herself as she worked as a seamstress.

As much as Millie was thankful that her mother had given her the experience of muggle living she wanted away from it. As much as she would use magic in her own home, Millie longed to live in a world that was so different from her own. For as long as she could remember she counted down to when she would finally receive her Hogwarts letter. She wanted to be with people like her, as much as she loved her muggle friends she knew that they would never completely understand her, where she came from, or where she would end up in life.

“Millicent Anne Graham!” called her mother. Millie’s head whipped around as she bit her lip, her eyes lighting up with excitement. Her mother smiled at her as she held up a thick off-white letter. “I think this delivery is for you my dear.”

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

House Request: Ravenclaw or Gryffindor

Personality: In certain circumstances Millie is known for being extremely irrational and emotionally driven, when things get to hard for her it would be normal to see her sitting in a comfortable chair in the common room with her knees to her chest and gripping the tips of her ears. She is very sensitive and people have to be careful what they say around her when she is in an emotional state. She is known for giving all that she has to her friends and being there for anyone who needs her. Yet even though she is such a good friend her shyness makes it hard for her to initiate friendships.

Appearance: She has long hard brown hair that reaches just past her shoulders that she usually keeps tied up while she is in class or studying. Light hazel eyes. Freckles that cover the bridge of her nose that fade onto her cheeks that she is a bit self conscious since her mother often makes fun of her for them. Full lips that have a pink tint to them. She is just slightly below average height with a small more delicate frame. Whenever she is reading or in class she is usually seen sporting black horn rimmed glasses.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.

Option 1

Millie almost jumped out of her shoes when he yelled at her. Her rucksack that she had been looking through fell to the floor, its contents flying everywhere. Millie looked at James absolutely dumbfounded, her eyes like saucers. She had just been walking down the hall back to the library to retrieve a book she had forgotten when he just whirled around and screamed at her! She hadn’t been at the game, she had multiple assignments that she had been procrastinating on and needed to finish, but from his behavior and the commotion from the Great Hall she knew the outcome hadn’t been in his favor. She was quite disappointed in herself for not going actually, she wished she had, even if the team they lost it still sounded like an exciting game. She was just heading to the Great Hall to meet with her friends when she realized that she had forgotten her textbook.
She pushed her lips tightly shut before looking down at the mess. She didn’t know what to say to him. Obviously he was having a bad day, but there was no reason for him to go stomping to the corridor yelling at every person that passed his way. She wanted to swear at him for startling her. She hated being startled and was on the verge of tears from the whole experience.
She quickly knelt down to gathered her things and shoved them into her bag. She stood up and scowled at him before pushing past him roughly and heading towards the library, deciding that such a rude person did not deserve any of her words.
