Dear Daddy,

There will be laughter and joy, so many firsts
We'll love as a family after my birth
For eternity you'll be the king of my heart
Always together, never to part
You're looking forward to watching me grow
So I guess it's time for you to know...

I'd show you the journal that I've kept for the last four years, but they are my own private thoughts. Please don't peek ... ever.

House Request:
Personality: Emerson is absolutely a daddy's girl. She is a fan of nature and prefers being outside to inside. Often she can be found in the classroom gazing outside the window, daydreaming. She is reasonable, rationale, and loves knowledge. Within her group, she is not the leader as she doesn't like to control others but at the same time she dislikes being controlled as well (often letting the group do as they wish as she does her own thing). She often marches to the beat of her own drum, which sometimes causes her to lose track of time and/or run late.
Appearance: Emerson is and always has been on the small side for her age; short and petite. She has her daddy's brown hair but her mummy's blue eyes. She prefers to keep her hair on the long side, though sometimes she forgets to brush it and it looks like a bird's nest (though she is quite alright with that analogy).

What was that?
Emmy was sure that she saw something scurry across the ground. She placed her homework down on the bench, making sure to place her textbook on top so that the essay she had been working so hard on didn't blow away.
To find whatever it was that had run by at her feet, you had to thing like it. First though, she had to know what "it" was. Perhaps it had been a squirrel? They weren't very common around here though, so that likely wasn't it. Emmy started crawling though in the direction the animal had headed. If only her bird hadn't decided only minutes ago that she needed some breakfast, Emmy could enlist her help to find the small animal.
Before too long, Emmy found herself crawling through one of the flower beds. They had only been recent disturbed, so more than likely this was the direction "it" had been headed. A few more feet and ...
Emmy was covering in dirt and snot.
"Bless you," she responded before she even processed the fact that she was covered in someone else's snot. The hat was right, she was such a Hufflepuff. She wasn't even mad.
"Can I help you with something? It's not polite to stare," said the boy who's booger's she was wearing. Perhaps she should have been a little mad.
"I was just looking for a small animal - a rodent more than likely - that just ran through here. Want to help me look?"
