Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name: Aurelia Kaine

Birthday: December 6th,1946

Hometown: Warwick, England

Bloodline: Halfblood

Magical Strength (pick one): Charms

Magical Weakness (pick one): Transfiguration

Year (pick two): First Year / Second Year

Biography: Aurelia had always wanted to understand why her mother had left them when she her and her brother were only Six and Seven. Had they been difficult children even then?  Was she even still alive? and did she ever think about them? The sad reality was there was no explanation. Certainly not from her Mother, and even less so from their Father. If it was ever pushed into conversation he would get flustered and mad, and because of this, Rea and her brother Atticus quickly learned to avoid the topic altogether.

It was just like one day she simply just decided to vanish and that was exactly what she did - unbeknowst she was dividing their whole family in the process. Aurelia secretly wished upon a star ever night till she was 10 years old that she would return, until Atticus during an argument with their father told her to 'give it up and grow up'.

Her Father is a strict wizard, intense and often cold and pessimistic, but he loves his children and spoils them rotten. Aurelia could see in him that he was hurt by his mother's absence, although stubborn as he was, he would never admit that it broke him. Atticus however, resented him for some reason and the two continually bicker and but heads.

Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request: Slytherin, Ravenclaw

Personality: Aurelia is a day dreamer and overthinker, and is often found staring a million miles away into seemingly nothingness with a rather blank and sometimes scary resting face. She is a bit of a pessimist like her father and is weary of eveything and everyone. If she does let her guard down around you then you have a friend for life.

She does seems to make friends easily because of her quirky charm. Seemingly quiet and timid at first in a group of friends, she is very bold and eccentric once she comes out of her shell. She can go from quiet and observant to dancing on the common room table in a matter of minutes, making her often unpredictable, but quite also a lot of fun to be around.

She is a rebel at heart and a bit of a tomboy. She doesn't mind taking a bludger on the quidditch pitch or getting her nails dirty in the herbology green house and thanks to her older brother she also knows how to hold her own. She isn't one to follow the rules when adventure awaits and loves exploring, painting, quidditch and collecting animal bones.

Appearance: Aurelia is a little small for her age which she more than makes up for with her intense and tough personality. She has blonde hair, blue eyes and a rather moody or serious aura to her. Her fashion sense is a little quirky, bold and unique and more masculine than feminine. She will never wear a dress or low cut top.

Option I:

The dungeons. A place eleven-year-old Evangeline had not yet travelled since her arrival at Hogwarts.

A place she really was just fine with not knowing; but it was too late. The dare had been accepted, even if it had been done in fear of being kicked out of Gryffindor, like the older girls had said she would because Gryffindors were supposed to be brave.

The air changed instantly when she hit the main corridor of the dungeons. The dampness was almost too much for her and she instinctively took a deep breath to avoid the sensation of being suffocated. There was also a sour burning smell which Evangeline assumed was from many, many Potions lessons.

Further and further she walked, her steps so slow and gentle they made no noise against the stone walls and floor. The feeling that she wasn't alone crept up her spine and raised the tiny hair on the back of her neck. Shivering, Evangeline wrapped her arms around herself. Suddenly, she missed the warmth and comfort of the Gryffindor common room. The fire was always going and it made her feel at ease.

Why had she let those girls talk her into this? She was only eleven, she didn't have to be brave. Surely the Headmistress would not kick her out of Hogwarts for not being brave.

If only she had these thoughts while being dared to search for the ghost of one Emma Birch, whom supposedly haunted the dungeons. It was not, Evangeline had learned, the place where the sixteen-year-old girl's life had ended but as she had been from the house with a snake as its mascot, it was the place her spirit had returned to. That common room was down here somewhere, she'd been told.

Something - the small blonde girl wasn't quite sure what - but something made her stop in her tracks suddenly. There was a low, dull thumping noise. Or maybe that was her heart beating so loudly she thought it was coming from outside her body.

"H-h-hello?" Her voice was barely above a whisper.

Remembering that she was supposed to be brave, Evangeline tried again.

"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"

The sound of her own words bouncing back at her off the walls made her jump.

The dungeons were the perfect place to go when one did not want to be disturbed and right now Aurelia did not want to be disturbed. Word about her breaking school rules had made it back home and as if receiving a howler in the great hall with everyone watching hadn't been bad enough, her Brother Atticus tying her laces together so she fell flat on her face when she stood make her want the ground around her to erupt and swallow her whole.

Her hands glided over the shiny, damp dungeon walls as she found a small alcove. Sitting on a bench inside it she pulled out a book on Astronomy and let her boot hang down and bounce in a soothing rhythm against the cold hard wall as she attempted to distract herself.

A echoed shout from down the hall indicated she was no longer alone and she sighed, closing the books and throwing it inside her bag. A name caught her ear. Emma Birch? Wasnt that the dead girl?
Not in the mood for her usual tricks, Rea simply waited for the blonde girl to move into her line of sight.

"Emma Birch is the dead girl right?"

Noticing the Gryffindor emblem, she couldn't help but see the student as a scared cat - the thought tugged a morbid smile to linger on her lips. "I think she's down there."
