→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name: Daniel Peregrine Cadwell Oldacre

Birthday: 2nd January 1937

Hometown: London, The United Kingdom of Great Britain

Bloodline: Pureblood

Magical Strength (pick one):
Divination / Transfiguration / Charms / Conjuring & Summoning

Magical Weakness (pick one):
Divination / Transfiguration / Charms / Conjuring & Summoning

Year (pick two): Sixth/Seventh (preferred)

Biography:

Tall, handsome, dark haired; a beauty if ever a teenage boy could be. Not the eldest child, but the only boy his parents had, the cherished diamond set in the crown, the glistening glory of his father’s heart. Admiration and adoring his girls he did, but his boy was his true achievement; Daniel would be placed on parade from the day he was born.

The day he was born, the Oldacre family rejoiced; Daniel was the first boy to be born into the family since his own father, who at the time of his birth was in his mid-thirties. As a child, Daniel was forever exploring, preferring (even as a toddler) to be outside of the confines of the London townhouse. He particularly enjoyed it when Nanny took him out into the large expanse that was London.

The Oldacre’s were exactly that, old. Their name travelled back in time, stitched into history, traditionalism pulsing through their veins. Daniel was primarily cared for by Nanny, pushed into the nursery to spend his day, spending his evening with his parents and placed to bed by his devoted mother. Stern was his Grandpapa and father, the soft touch of his mother, her sweet lips kissing his cheek at night was in stark contrast to what he was used to, he particularly enjoyed it when he could spend days with his mother.

Aged only seven, he was thrust into his education. Governor Dowding was employed in the Oldacre residence; where upon days at end they would spend in the library, Daniel being taught Latin, French and Arithmetic. The family patriarch Grandpapa Albert Oldacre knew the importance of knowledge, and took charge of his grandsons education.

But he also knew the importance of appearance. Pristine, elegant, gentlemanly; from the age of ten, Daniel was invited to various balls, evening events, even one time invited to the opera as part of the Ministers party. Young, he was already trust into the political arena, an arena he was unwillingly thrust into, vowing never to return, not properly.

Intelligent, athletic, artistic; Daniel was many things, but it was his appearance that appeared to get him noticed more. His hard jaw, high cheekbones, slightly rouged lips; features apparently desired by the opposite sex - it was perhaps his father’s whispers that taught him one lesson of life, or rather demand, “Use your looks to your advantage”. So he would, if he ever needed to.

Even though Oldacre traditions surrounded him dearly, he was still particularly close to his Granny Clementine, the mother of his mother. Also a residence of London, it was easy for him, generally during the holidays, to make his annual trip to her humble home for afternoon tea. A tradition he established, a tradition he kept to this day. Every day during winter, summer he could be found sat at the table in the dining room, sipping on a sweet cup of tea, a biscuit or slice of cake on his plate.

Respect. Honour. Dignity. Daniel Peregrine Caldwell Oldacre, was a Oldacre, who walked with his shoulders wide, proud of the name he carried. A name he would further carry, a name that would be remembered for a lifetime, even when he came to his eternal sleep.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request: Slytherin/Ravenclaw

Personality: Tradition dictates much of his life; coming from a well established, old family, its traditions rub off on his attitude. Proud to bare the name Oldacre, he can often come across as entitled, snobbish even to those that do not know him well. Those that do, would be able to say he was gentle, kind even if arrogant at times, but that’s what happens when money and attractiveness are paired together. A nurtured soul, he respects the teachings of his elders, obedience when it comes to the word of Grandpapa. Never would he disobey the fiery patriarch.

Appearance: Strikingly tall, Daniel stands roughly at six foot, with dark locks and warm chocolate coloured eyes, which upon sunlight can turn a bright amber. Attractive, he gives his cousin Pax a run for his money.

Option 2:

That rat of his was in for it now.

The gray little rascal had disappeared from his clutches at breakfast. Again.

Before Hugh even knew what was happening, Merlin had shot across the floor, somehow managing to avoid all the feet walking across the hall and had escaped through the open doors.

Which meant that Hugh was now stomping through rows of flowers and other various flora, searching for the small creature. It was like the rat knew Hugh was allergic to most flowers. Merlin always chose to run to the gardens whenever he got away from Hugh. It was as if the rat did not want to have him for an owner.

Hugh had named his pet Merlin because he had hoped the powerful name would give the rat more incentive to be more than a rat. Not that he expected Merlin to change into a wizard or anything, but rats were just so...useless, for the most part. With a name like Merlin, Hugh thought it might give the rat purpose.

The only purpose Merlin seemed to have was getting away from Hugh as often as possible.

As the fifth year trudged into the second row of flowers, not taking much care to avoid trampling the first row, he felt the first sneeze building up pressure in his nose and behind his eyes.

"You blasted rat! Where are you?"

He pulled apart a section of bright red flowers; he didn't know what they were called because he despised flowers, and ducked his head low to peer into the depths of the flowerbed. It was moving closer in proximity to the flowers that finally did it. Hugh took in three great breaths and then let out an almighty sneeze. It was strong enough to disturb some of the dirt on the ground before him.

Groaning, he stood up again and wiped his nose on his sleeve. It was as he was turning his head, his nose running up and down his arm, that movement in his peripheral vision caught his attention. Normally one who preferred to put his best face forward, Hugh was a bit embarrassed to be caught wiping his runny nose on his robes.

Nevertheless, Hugh put on his best haughty voice. albeit a bit thickly with his plugged nose and said, "Can I help you with something? It is not polite to stare."

Picnic blanket lain out, shirt removed, sunglasses pushed up the bridge of his nose, he soaked in the golden light of the sun that gently kissed his exposed skin. It was rare that the days were this hot, he normally didn’t get this type of heat unless he was in Florida, a traditional holiday that generally took place over the first week of the summer.

He quite enjoyed the summer, because it was mostly not spent in the mostly dreary long dull days of London. Florida was generally followed by New York, then across to Ireland and back into the Highlands of Scotland, always meeting new people before eventually returning to London in time for school shopping then returning to Hogwarts.

Tranquility perhaps described his somewhat paralytic state, lying basking in the sunlight, silent enjoyment came from not being disturbed by anybody. He enjoyed being alone; social most of the time but to take a break from the chatter of conversation and the drama of school politics, was quite peaceful. It gave him time to just enjoy the moment, to enjoy the happiness that came with the simplicity of sunbathing.

A noise appeared to disturb the silence, from afar it came but louder it grew. Not quite annoyed, more curious as to what was going on, he reached up onto his elbows, index finger of his right hand pulling his sunglasses down to the tip of his nose. A clearer view was needed.

Lips slightly pursed he could see where the noise was coming from. A boy. A boy actively… chasing perhaps something, what it was, Daniel could not tell, nor really did it bother him, what he wanted the most was for the noise to stop so he could catch the last of the sun that would surely be disappearing soon, or he would have to go in for dinner being served.

"Can I help you with something? It is not polite to stare."

A smirk widened across his lips. He liked the boys spunk; he mustn’t have realised as to who he was talking too, for if he did, he would not be talking to him with such a manner. “It’s not polite for little boys to push their nose in where it isn’t wanted.”

With one swoop, he managed to climb to his feet without the use of his hands, sauntering in the direction of the boy that was speaking. Threatening perhaps, Daniel had to reestablish the order of how things worked.
