Biography:
“Three minutes is a long time, and I’m still three minutes older than you!”

May 12, 1952. The amount of McCormick children doubled with the arrival of Joseph James and Finlay Thomas McCormick, identical twins who would prove to bring practically infinite chaos to the ever-growing household. From the very beginning, it was Joey and Finn, Finn and Joey, the epitome of double trouble. Where one went, the other followed; that was the way it had always been and the way it seemed it always would be, and they very much so liked it that way. They simply went together.

Though Joey led the way into the world (by a whole three minutes, as he, in the style of a typical older twin, refuses to ever let go), he has since been content to let Finn do most of the leading. His brother may be the first to dive into chaos without a second look, but Joey is always right behind him (he might take that second look first, but he tends to still do it anyway). Where his twin comes up with the ideas, Joey comes up with the plans to back them up, though the end goal often remains...questionable.

“What are you do - hey, wait for me!”

Whatever the situation may be, Joey McCormick is always ready to support, whether it be his twin, the rest of his family, or friends good enough to be family themselves. A loyal and happy kid, he’ll follow those who have earned his trust with a smile. He prefers to be optimistic, as there’s not much in his life worth being sad about, but tries to look at life realistically too. Even so, he just likes to smile and laugh. And why wouldn’t he? Life is only as much fun as you make it, and Joey likes to have as much fun as possible. Luckily for him, he was born into a family where there’s always something going on, and the trouble he, Finn, and his other sisters and brothers get in guarantee that there’s always new excitement right around the corner.

There aren’t many families as fun and interesting as Joey’s, and the young boy loves being a McCormick. Each member of his family has his whole heart, and being a very affectionate and cuddly (he gives the best hugs!) kid, he makes sure they know that. Being a twin and a member of a large family, time alone is rare, but Joey loves the constant company. In fact, this has made it so he isn’t used to being alone at all, and the idea of it is a little nerve-wracking. Maybe that’s why he still has some clingy tendencies, but he just wants to make sure the people he loves will come back, and can you really blame him for that?

“Why do some people find it so hard to be nice? It’s easy!”

Joey McCormick was not raised to believe in hate, and he is far from mean-spirited. If all it takes to make someone smile is just being nice, why not do it? Kind, sweet, and generally good-natured to those he knows, corruption has not touched this young soul. He likes making others happy and likes being happy himself, and it’s hard for the sensitive boy to understand why others don’t feel the same way. Even so, he wants to learn more about other people and new things and, well, just about everything! Curiosity propels him forward, usually after Finn but perhaps in entirely new directions in the future.

For now, though, it’s Joey and Finn, Finn and Joey, brothers until the end with an extremely strong bond. As the natural leader of their little clan, Finn tends to draw more of the attention, but Joey is okay with that. That’s just the way it is, and for Joey McCormick, the way it is is pretty good.

Roleplay Response:
Park days were the best days! Well, hardly any days weren't the best, but park days were especially so. The fresh air, the sun, and the wide open space specifically designed for kids to play, play, play combined to make Godric Park an absolutely delightful place for young Joseph McCormick. He was always excited when Mum and Dad announced they would be going to the park today, and understandably so.

Today was one of those wonderful days, and within five minutes of arrival, the McCormick children had become absorbed into a raucous game of tag. Screams of delight rose from the siblings as they chased each other around wildly. Lily had just managed to tag him, so the frantic search for a target began, ending in the young boy eyeing the retreating figure of his twin in the distance. "Yeah, you better run, Finn! I'm gonna get you!"

But before he could get very far at all, a sight up above distracted him. Brooms! Three boys on brooms, at that! Brooms were so much fun! Maybe they had a few extras? Wait...what if they played tag on broomsticks?!

"You!"

His diverted attention had already slowed his pace, but now Joey stopped completely. "Me?" Sure enough, the abrupt cry was indeed directed towards him.

Finn was probably halfway across the park by now, but Joey took a step closer towards the newcomer anyway. At the girl's question, a smile broke out on his face. "Sure!" Her broom wouldn't be good for tag on brooms, but that was okay. They could still have lots of fun! "Want to help me catch my brother Finn? We're playing tag!"
