Biography:
Ignatius Novak, born to Roland and Marta (née Monteson) Novak, was the youngest of three, with a brother named Kendrick that’s six years older and a sister under the name of Miriam who was four years ahead. Roland passed away due to illness when Ignatius turned nine, and Marta brought up her children alone in the family residence in London.

Unlike his rest of family, who were all proud Slytherins, Ignatius graduated from Gryffindor. He was an adventurous and chivalrous young man, friendly and well-mannered towards others. He didn’t share his family (especially his mother Marta and siblings)’s prejudice against the muggles, muggleborns and the halfbloods, and had always taken a favour in them. Nevertheless, as a member of the Novak family who had excellent grades during school years and worked as a rather successful young curse breaker, he was still valued by his family.

There was a secret reason in his favour for the muggle world. It wasn’t known that Ignatius possessed a secret of his father Roland’s. Being Roland’s favourite son, he confided Ignatius in a terrible secret  by the end of his life - Roland was not a pureblood, for his late mother was only a halfblood witch. As a result, the bloodline that his wife and elder children were so proud of was fake - when Marta married into the family, she was deceived. To struggle in the pureblood society, Roland concealed his real identity for years, and hid his secret affection towards the muggle world due to his love for his mother. Nine-year-old Ignatius listened quietly by his father’s bed, and there was no doubt that the child took the whole matter into his heart seriously. He, according to his father’s will, concealed the secret as well when he grew up.

When Ignatius, who was in his late twenties at that time, visited the town of Rye, he merely wished to flee from the marriage arranged by his mother Marta. He worked as a curse breaker, and it could be said that he was the family pride. Marta wished him to get into a marriage with her second cousin’s daughter, a girl from an admirable upper class pureblood family. Ignatius, on the other hand, was not in the slightest interested in this. As a result, he told his mother that he would be taking a break from his work and went on the vacation.

Rye was a lovely place, and Ignatius found it charming. On a bus trip, he met the local middle school chemistry teacher Rhea Davis, who helped him with organizing his trip routes. She was a beautiful young lady of his age, and Ignatius couldn’t help but return to Rye to meet her after he finished his vacation and went back to London. Meanwhile, Marta hastened to make her son get married with the young witch she had chosen. Finally, realizing that he was actually in love, Ignatius proposed to Rhea while revealing his wizard identity. Even in shock, Rhea still accepted. Ignatius cut all the ties with his family, and settled down in Rye with his new wife.

Ivelina Rosalind Novak came to the world on February 14th, 1953. Her first name had the first letter same as her father’s, and her middle name had the first letter of her mother’s name - it could be easily known she was a child born of love, when her birthday coincidentally fell on the Valentines Day. Her parents loved her dearly, and, they nearly spoiled her. Considering Ivelina was a mouthful, as well as ancient and ladylike - which certainly didn’t suit her style - she shortened it herself to Ivy. And thus, Ivy became her name that’s more widely used.

Ivy went to a muggle school, as the couple wasn’t sure if she would turn out as a witch. But she was one indeed - when Ivy became six, she got into a fight with a neighbour’s cat. She chased the cat in the garden, and ended up turning all its orange fur into forest green. The green colour faded in five seconds though and the poor cat turned back to its original colour. However, Ignatius was fortunate enough to witness this and came to rescue (the cat of course) in time. Ivy was quite proud of herself, as this meant that all her longings were becoming real - she would one day be accepted into that magical Hogwarts like her father. And of course, Ivy - not Ivelina - couldn’t wait for that.

House Request: no preferences

Personality:
Ivy was a cheerful and good humoured child, with a quite mischievous and impulsive outlook. She was nowhere near the description of being quiet, and, being curious, she especially loved adventures. Ivy was a loyal kid and had a strong sense of morality, not afraid to fight against anything that got on her nerves. Being a bit spoiled by her parents, she was wild and fierce, and was a willful and bossy little girl. Her company wasn’t always that satisfying, either. She might bother you with bubbly talks or childish pranks, as Ivy easily got bored. Self-centered and a bit selfish, Ivy was sharp-tongued and sarcastic, and was also rather vain and naive.

Appearance:
Ivy took after her mother, with dark brown locks dropping on her shoulders and slightly tanned skin. But her eyes - Rhea’s eyes were hazel - those piercing and observant icy blue eyes of a winter’s sky just resembled Ignatius’s, who, among his siblings, was the only one to inherit this Novak family trademark from his own father Roland. Ivy had a relatively a small frame, and was a bit shorter than the average kids of her age. Ivy might not be considered as possessing excessive beauty, but she was overall a rather delicate little girl.

Option I:

The dungeons. A place eleven-year-old Evangeline had not yet travelled since her arrival at Hogwarts.

A place she really was just fine with not knowing; but it was too late. The dare had been accepted, even if it had been done in fear of being kicked out of Gryffindor, like the older girls had said she would because Gryffindors were supposed to be brave.

The air changed instantly when she hit the main corridor of the dungeons. The dampness was almost too much for her and she instinctively took a deep breath to avoid the sensation of being suffocated. There was also a sour burning smell which Evangeline assumed was from many, many Potions lessons.

Further and further she walked, her steps so slow and gentle they made no noise against the stone walls and floor. The feeling that she wasn't alone crept up her spine and raised the tiny hair on the back of her neck. Shivering, Evangeline wrapped her arms around herself. Suddenly, she missed the warmth and comfort of the Gryffindor common room. The fire was always going and it made her feel at ease.

Why had she let those girls talk her into this? She was only eleven, she didn't have to be brave. Surely the Headmistress would not kick her out of Hogwarts for not being brave.

If only she had these thoughts while being dared to search for the ghost of one Emma Birch, whom supposedly haunted the dungeons. It was not, Evangeline had learned, the place where the sixteen-year-old girl's life had ended but as she had been from the house with a snake as its mascot, it was the place her spirit had returned to. That common room was down here somewhere, she'd been told.

Something - the small blonde girl wasn't quite sure what - but something made her stop in her tracks suddenly. There was a low, dull thumping noise. Or maybe that was her heart beating so loudly she thought it was coming from outside her body.

"H-h-hello?" Her voice was barely above a whisper.

Remembering that she was supposed to be brave, Evangeline tried again.

"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"

The sound of her own words bouncing back at her off the walls made her jump.

Ivy didn’t know why she was here. The dungeons wasn’t a exactly ideal place for staying, considering how cold and sneaky it was. Though she was indeed feeling bored. Her piercing blue eyes casted towards the ancient walls, considering what she could make use of this atmosphere. Ugh…even though it was damp, this was indeed a nice place to prank some young little kids that were afraid of dark. Ivy herself wasn’t feeling afraid, apparently. Throwing some dark brown curls to her back, her eyes were lit hearing someone’s voice. A target. The owner of the voice was obviously uncertain of them being here, and therefore…

Pranks. Be aware, kid.

When a small blonde girl emerged in front of her, Ivy glanced at her. She herself was no taller than the blonde, but Ivy was confident. Overly. Time to start a nice prank. This girl - timid as she looked - was certainly a good mischief target.

“Emma Birch?” She started, voice echoing in the cold dungeons. “Why are you searching for her?” Her voice was high, and had a natural bossy pride in it. Maybe the other girl would find it annoying, but Ivy actually took a step forward and stood close to the girl - a bit too closer for the poor girl. A mischievous smile formed on Ivy’s lips. It would fade away quickly, and Ivy, in an instant, turned the smile to a welcome on.

“Actually, I am one of Emma’s closest friends.” She told the girl, altering her tone into a much friendlier one. That was a lie, obviously. Ivy knew nothing about this certain Miss Emma Birch, and she wasn’t interested in her anyway. But nah, that’s the first step of a prank. Ivy blinked, and continued. “What do you want to do with her? Hopefully you aren’t going to hex her. Otherwise, I may take you a nice little message. Say, what’s your name?”

She drew a step back before giving the blonde girl a pat on the shoulder and a wink whether she wanted it or not. “Nevertheless, it’s lovely to meet you, my dear. I’m Ivy, by the way.”
