Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name: Luella Diane Jones

Birthday: July 13th, 1941

Hometown: Originally Los Angeles,California,USA and now Manchester, UK

Bloodline:
Halfblood

Magical Strength (pick one):
Conjuring & Summoning

Magical Weakness (pick one):
Divination

Year (pick two): She’s a returning student so she would be sixth year

Biography:

Luella is an interesting young lady, that’s for sure. Even before she popped out of the womb, the lass was kicking around for freedom. It wasn’t until July 13th, 1941 did the girl reach her yearning freedom. During the middle of an intense summer heat wave, the world was blessed with the birth of Luella Diane Jones. Maybe not exactly the world...but all of Los Angeles would become blessed.

Mr & Mrs. Jones were definitely an amusing couple. Her parents were like some cliche love story you could only find in books. He was just a young wizard fresh from graduating Ilvermorny and she was a mundane baker's daughter who had a passion for designing articles of clothing. Both met on a beautiful quiet evening when the young brute came in the bakery to buy some scones and saw that the young woman behind the counter was having struggles putting some flour away. Short story short, both fell in love the minute the flour bag fell and both were covered head to toe in powder.

For a while, it was just the three of them. They were a messy but loving household. Southern music blasting from different rooms to remind her father of his hometown and freshly baked goods filling the air was everything Luella could remember about her childhood. Before her twin baby brothers were born anyways.

Four years later and Luella wasn’t the main attention. Colton and Flynn Jones were two new (and last) additions to the joyful household. According to her parents, Luella wasn’t a fan of the thought of not being her parent’s main priority. But that all changed once the little pigtailed brunette got to hold her baby brothers(under parental supervision obviously). As the years went on, Luella became more protective over her brothers. Despite their mother’s pleas, the trio were always coming in before supper covered in mud.

When the time came for Luella to get her letter for Ilvermorny, her father was laid off of his current position as a lawyer. With financial issues and barely paying off house payments, the Joneses decided to move. Not to another state but another country. This change was anything but exciting for Luella. The young girl was crushed once she found out she had to leave the forever bright beaches to living in a constant gloom with occasional sunny days.

Instead of attending Ilvermorny as planned, Luella got a letter from Hogwarts. Despite her parent’s enthusiastic attitude and attempts to make light of the situation, Luella still missed her old home. When it came to her first year, the young girl had never felt more homesick. Never had she ever wanted to stay home so badly. The girl hated how lonely she felt. Even after being sorted into Ravenclaw, Luella found herself studying alone in the dorm tower or eating in silence in the dining hall.

After a few years, Luella slowly started warming up to others. She even made some possible friends during her fourth year. With her father getting a new position in the Ministry, her family could now take seasonal visits back to America and to Luella’s joy, Los Angeles.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.
You come across one of these posts on the site. Please select one & reply as your character. Remember, you can only roleplay your own character's actions, not Evangeline's or Hugh's.

Option I:

The dungeons. A place eleven-year-old Evangeline had not yet travelled since her arrival at Hogwarts.

A place she really was just fine with not knowing; but it was too late. The dare had been accepted, even if it had been done in fear of being kicked out of Gryffindor, like the older girls had said she would because Gryffindors were supposed to be brave.

The air changed instantly when she hit the main corridor of the dungeons. The dampness was almost too much for her and she instinctively took a deep breath to avoid the sensation of being suffocated. There was also a sour burning smell which Evangeline assumed was from many, many Potions lessons.

Further and further she walked, her steps so slow and gentle they made no noise against the stone walls and floor. The feeling that she wasn't alone crept up her spine and raised the tiny hair on the back of her neck. Shivering, Evangeline wrapped her arms around herself. Suddenly, she missed the warmth and comfort of the Gryffindor common room. The fire was always going and it made her feel at ease.

Why had she let those girls talk her into this? She was only eleven, she didn't have to be brave. Surely the Headmistress would not kick her out of Hogwarts for not being brave.

If only she had these thoughts while being dared to search for the ghost of one Emma Birch, whom supposedly haunted the dungeons. It was not, Evangeline had learned, the place where the sixteen-year-old girl's life had ended but as she had been from the house with a snake as its mascot, it was the place her spirit had returned to. That common room was down here somewhere, she'd been told.

Something - the small blonde girl wasn't quite sure what - but something made her stop in her tracks suddenly. There was a low, dull thumping noise. Or maybe that was her heart beating so loudly she thought it was coming from outside her body.

"H-h-hello?" Her voice was barely above a whisper.

Remembering that she was supposed to be brave, Evangeline tried again.

"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"

The sound of her own words bouncing back at her off the walls made her jump.

Luella Jones tended to have a wandering personality. Some would say she just couldn't keep still. But today she was in a mood for some place new other than the gardens or quidditch grounds. The dungeons were an unusual spot for herself to be exploring around, the dark damp feeling making her skin crawl with excitement. She loved to just walk around in the silence with the company of a few mice here and here.

Her own pet rat was tucked away in her pocket, snoozing away no doubt. Usually she would bring a comfy sweater to keep herself warm since it did get a bit chilly underground but of course, it slipped her mind.

With an candle stick lit, the young female walked down multiple tunnels and down many halls. There wasn't much noise other than quiet humming from the girl's vocals once and a while. Everything was peaceful until she heard scuffling and a quiet voice calling out.

"H-h-hello?"

Moving her body back against one of the walls, Luella kept hidden as she listened quietly. Moving her hand up, she covered the flame with her hand in hopes to dim the light. Usually other students would come wandering the dungeons but it wasn't a very likely thing to happen. Most were terrified to even set foot on the cold ground.

Must be a first year.

"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"

The poor girl sounded absolutely terrified. With her quivering voice bouncing off of the walls, Luella felt an idea strike her head. A small smirk crept onto her lips.

"Oh help! Help me! Emma Birch please have mercy!" The brunette wailed, mustering up as much fear in her voice she could. She listened as her voice carried through the tunnels. The echoing caused goosebumps all along her arms. There was a good moment of silence. The young girl had to bit her bottom lip in an attempt to stop a giggle from breaking free.

Name: Luella(Ellie)Diane Jones

Birthday: July 13th, 1941

Hometown:Manchester, UK

Bloodline:
Halfblood

Magical Strength (pick one):
Conjuring & Summoning

Magical Weakness (pick one):
Divination

Year (pick two): Fourth,Fifth

Biography:
Her parent's were like some cliche love story you find in books. He was just a young wizards fresh from graduating and she was baker's daughter who had a passion for designing clothes. Both met on a beautiful quiet evening when the young man came in the bakery to buy some scones and saw that the young woman was having struggles putting some flour away. Short story short, both feel in love the minute the flour bag fell and both were covered head to toe.

After a happy few years of marriage both welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Luella. At first, they were really messy new parents. Panicking whenever the young infant cried to the point where her father would quickly summon his buzzard patronus and soon both young parents would let out a sigh as the crying stopped.

Growing up, Ellie was surrounded by music from her father's record player to her mother's humming in the kitchen as she baked. Her childhood was filled with music and laughter. At the age of eight, her family welcomed two new bundles of joy. Twin brothers, Colton and Flynn. Even at an early stage, Ellie was always chasing after her brothers and taking care of them. All three of them were a handful for their parents. Always getting into trouble or getting muddy.

By the time Ellie got her letter for Hogwarts, her family couldn't be more happy. Though her mother was a muggle and owned a clothing shop, her father was a hardworking wizard in the ministry. For her first year, Ellie had never felt more homesick. After a while, she soon got used to things.

When the young spirited girl turned thirteen, her tom-boy personality slowly faded. The girl had started to turn her concerns to her appearance ever since she started crushing on a few cute older boys who attended Hogwarts. Her mother was over-joyed that she could now do her daughter's hair and give her makeup tips. Even though she may have stopped doing less muddy activities and started curling her hair, Ellie still kept her tough playful personality and wont be afraid to tumble around.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request:I'll let the hat decide

Personality:
Ellie never really got along with most other girls. While most girl's in her neighborhood were busy braiding each other's hair, Ellie was out in nature and watching as the world glowed. Much like her parents, Ellie loves people with a good sense of humor. People who make her laugh and bring a smile to her face. Whenever people meet Ellie they often describe her as lively, active, very imaginative and ingenious. Ellie is also very free-spirited. She really isn't like most girls. With her love in music and the outdoors, many could ever hardly find the girl inside. The one thing that makes Ellie different from both her parents is she has a fierce soul. She won't let people push her over and often gets frustrated when people brush her off being she's only a girl.

Appearance:
Most would say Ellie was genetically a copy of her mother. With matching button noses and bright icy glass eyes. The only thing that separates Ellie from her mother is how the young witch inherited her father's infectious smile. With a twinkle of mischief in her eye and a bounce in her step, Ellie is the picture perfect trouble-maker. With long chocolate brown locks and a slightly sun-kissed skin, most boys would seem to slightly drool over her. But alas, the girl never really seemed to notice and kept her focus on playing her guitar.
