Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name: Noah Roman Diego Arcilla

Birthday: 29 August 1939

Hometown: Buckinghamshire

Bloodline:
Muggleborn / Halfblood / Pureblood / Unknown

Magical Strength (pick one):
Divination / Transfiguration / Charms / Conjuring & Summoning

Magical Weakness (pick one):
Divination / Transfiguration / Charms / Conjuring & Summoning

Year (pick two): fourth, fifth ***

Biography:
His childhood was normal, he was sure of this. In addition to attending Hogwarts, his parents pressed the importance of learning two other languages, engaging himself in an instrument, and the discipline of playing quidditch. Although around his peers, Noah can seem a bit uptight or shy, he is anything but when around his two best friends;  Paige Diaz, and Corrina Buzolic.

The Arcilla family had grown incredibly close to the Buzolics. Since he could remember, a day didn’t go by where he went without seeing Corrina, even if it was for just a few moments.  The pair had shared their birthdays, a strong friendship blossoming even further with the knowledge. Mr. and Mrs. Buzolic only had the two girls, whereas the Arcilla had seven of their own, creating a chaotic atmosphere.

-Ronan, the eldest, was fifteen when Noah was born.  His rebellious attitude all through school landed him in trouble at every which direction, and eventually he found himself in Azkban at the age of twenty. He turned into the family’s disgrace, being disowned despite his release date being the summer of 1954.
-Lucille was twelve, and ecstatic to be able to help take care of the baby. Their family was traditional in the sense that the women were not able to heir the family’s fortune, but instead it would go to the next boy, which incidentally was Noah. This knowledge would later cause a rift in their relationship.
-Diana was eight, and at the time, the baby of the family. As they assumed, the transition was hard at first but soon, the little girl was helping her sister take care of him, spending the majority of her time with him. They still remain close, Diana another mother figure in a sense.
-Daniel came after, in the winter of 1941.
-Theodore and Thelma came in the spring of 1944, as the last children of the Arcilla family.

He's made some great friends at school, even crushing on one redhead in particular. Though he doesn't care much for his best friend's boyfriend, he tends to tolerate his presence for her.

House Request: Hufflepuff

Personality:
It really doesn't take much to please Noah Arcilla. With butterbeer and great company, the kid could have a great time with just about anyone. He's polite and well mannered, due to his elitist upbringing, and tends to keep to himself if he's surrounded by strangers. He's more outgoing and more inclined to open up around his close friends.

Though he personally doesn't feel any ill will towards anyone with lesser blood, Noah tries to steer clear of anyone of that nature when at public events and gatherings. He doesn't really like dealing with all crap his parents give him about it, so he avoids it all together.

Appearance:
Noah thinks he's just an average looking student, which sometimes can bring him to feel negatively about himself. With jet black hair and pale skin, he looks vastly different than his siblings, which has always made him feel inadequate, but he's slowly getting better with his self esteem. He's currently 5'6, and hoping he'll grow a little taller before time is up. Bright blue eyes that darken with the weather and perhaps even his emotions. Slightly athletic build from his years of playing quid, but is working harder to build a better physique.

You come across one of these posts on the site. Please select one & reply as your character. Remember, you can only roleplay your own character's actions, not Evangeline's or Hugh's.

Option I:

The dungeons. A place eleven-year-old Evangeline had not yet travelled since her arrival at Hogwarts.

A place she really was just fine with not knowing; but it was too late. The dare had been accepted, even if it had been done in fear of being kicked out of Gryffindor, like the older girls had said she would because Gryffindors were supposed to be brave.

The air changed instantly when she hit the main corridor of the dungeons. The dampness was almost too much for her and she instinctively took a deep breath to avoid the sensation of being suffocated. There was also a sour burning smell which Evangeline assumed was from many, many Potions lessons.

Further and further she walked, her steps so slow and gentle they made no noise against the stone walls and floor. The feeling that she wasn't alone crept up her spine and raised the tiny hair on the back of her neck. Shivering, Evangeline wrapped her arms around herself. Suddenly, she missed the warmth and comfort of the Gryffindor common room. The fire was always going and it made her feel at ease.

Why had she let those girls talk her into this? She was only eleven, she didn't have to be brave. Surely the Headmistress would not kick her out of Hogwarts for not being brave.

If only she had these thoughts while being dared to search for the ghost of one Emma Birch, whom supposedly haunted the dungeons. It was not, Evangeline had learned, the place where the sixteen-year-old girl's life had ended but as she had been from the house with a snake as its mascot, it was the place her spirit had returned to. That common room was down here somewhere, she'd been told.

Something - the small blonde girl wasn't quite sure what - but something made her stop in her tracks suddenly. There was a low, dull thumping noise. Or maybe that was her heart beating so loudly she thought it was coming from outside her body.

"H-h-hello?" Her voice was barely above a whisper.

Remembering that she was supposed to be brave, Evangeline tried again.

"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"

The sound of her own words bouncing back at her off the walls made her jump.

Noah walked quickly down the corridor, heart pounding against his chest. He always the dampness of the dungeons, how lonely and cold he seemed to feel when down there. Just didn't seem possible for him to feel any smaller than he already did, but somehow, he did.

His footsteps echoed against the stone as he continued to hurry away from the Slytherin home. The boy almost missed the familiarity of a young girl's voice shadowed by his harsh breathing. Just as he rounded the corner, the source of the fragile voice came into view. He stopped in his tracks, confusion swept over his features over the questions she seemed to ask into the air.

"Emma died a long time ago," he said gently. "Perhaps it's best to leave her spirit be."

Taking a step closer, Noah offered the young girl a soft smile. "Let's get you back to your common room. We shouldn't be down here."

Roleplay Response:
Because Noah was now undergoing grooming in order to claim his rightful place as heir, he was now faced with more responsibility. And that was something he had been avoiding, if he was being perfectly honest with himself -- and everyone else. His idea of summer had been going to camp with Paige and Corrina, not being kept at home to learn about the family business, or in this instance, to babysit the twins.

Of course, the teenager loved his siblings, each and every one of them, but he'd much rather be with friends. But instead, whilst mum was shopping, he had to take them to the park and keep a close eye on them.

Much easier said than done, honestly.

"John, I said wait up!"

The crying out of a little girl caught his attention and he turned to see one watching another young boy playing with a toy broom. A brown quirked as he ushered his siblings the opposite way to avoid whatever was going on.

"You!"

He stopped in his tracks, wincing at the loud voice. Turning to peer down at the girl, he kept on hand on both of the twins' shoulders.

"...Do you want to play?"

"Uhhh...sure?"
