Hogwarts School: A Harry Potter RPG

Thank you for your application to Hogwarts School. We are excited to see you here at Hogwarts, and we are glad you are excited to be here also. There are just a few things we need to go over in your application before we can accept you into Hogwarts for the new Term.
 
First of all, your account should be the first and last name of your character. This is easily fixed with a helpdesk ticket posted to change your account name to Maelynn Freemont.
 
There are a few bits of your application that would need to be changed before we can accept your application. First of all, you write that Maelynn’s hometown is in Florida, which is in the United States. If you can explain why Maelynn is going to school in Hogwarts, rather than a school in America (like she has family in the UK, or they moved out there), that would help us understand her situation a bit better.
 
The next thing we should look at is Maelynn’s history. It is very interesting that a Thestral came to give Maelynn her letter, but it is very unlikely. We are an Alternate Universe Harry Potter rp, and although we have an original story we keep most of the main elements of the Wizarding Universe. I doubt Hogwarts will ever use Thestrals to deliver letters, considering they are too big and are better used as mounts.
 
Also, because we are an Alternate Universe Harry Potter Rp set during 1940s (currently). In this plot, we do not have Harry Potter or any of the characters that associated with Harry. That means, Minerva Mcgonagall is not at Hogwarts, and is not in the universe we write in.

The last thing that needs to be looked at is your roleplay. Everything looks great except the last part in which Maelynn runs away right after. If this is an rp on the board, having Maelynn run does not give much for James to respond to.
 
If you would not mind removing and editing the parts noted in this post, we can go ahead and look at your application again, and get you onto being approved and rping at Hogwarts.

We are very excited to have you here, and everything looks good, except one thing which is your level request. We have a rule that your lowest level can not be less than half your highest. Since you put Charms as 12, your lowest level (Transfiguation), should be at least 6.

Also, it would be great to know a bit more about Phaedra and her career as a Musician. Just what kind of music is she known for? Where is she famous exactly? Is she a solo artist, or does she perform with a group on stage?

Thank you for making the changes to your application. There are still some things that need to be changed and clarified before we can proceed to accepting your application.

I understand that the mentioning of her moving objects unconsciously when she was growing up, was to show that she had magical abilities. That is only allowed when her magical powers are developing. After a certain amount of time, moving objects of her own will, has to be done with a wand in her hand.  If she is moving things on her own without a wand it needs to be approved with a special request form.

Thank you for your application. We are always excited to get new characters at the forum but there are some issues that we would like to address before your application is accepted.

First of all, in the site rules under character creation guidelines it says:

Please do not take names or characters directly from other books, series or movies and apply as them here. We are a roleplaying site interested in your original characters, not reinterpretations of pre-existing and copyrighted ones.

Although the names you have chosen are not exactly copies of any character in particular, there are still quite a few similarities. If you would please think of changing either the twins first names or last names, this issue will be resolved.

Secondly, we understand that your characters are twins, but that does not mean you can use the same biography twice. Gabriel is an entirely different character than Lucifer, we would like to see this in the biography. Please rewrite your profile giving us more insight on how the two are different.

Once your applications are edited and names changed please post them again in the topic. Thank you for your time, and we hope to see you rping on the site soon.

Thank you for applying to our site to rp. We are quite happy to have your character on the site. There are just a few things we need to go over before we can accept your application.

• Levels- An adult character is allowed 32 points for levels to be distributed however they want. You can use less if you wish, but in the rules it states that your lowest level cannot be less than half of your highest. This means that if her Charm level is 9, then her transfiguration level needs to be at least 4. This is stated in the rules for magical levels for new Adult Characters.If you wish to keep her transfiguration level low, please fill out a special request.
• Biography - An adult elsewhere character at Hogwarts needs to be at least 300 words. It would be great if you could expand a bit more about what she has done in her life especially since she has traveled quite a bit. Does she have a favorite place? What sort of experiences has she had on her cruises? It would also be great to learn about her relationship with her husband. Was her husband the love of her life when they first met? Did she marry him only for money? Does she like his sense of humor?
• RP Response - Not that it is wrong, it just does not really give Dianne anything to reply to. To give her something to react to at this site we use dialogue such as: "Hello child, are you lost? Can I help you find your parents?" etc. It helps to give a voice to the characters.
