Biography: (300 words minimum.)
Free will. People preach it, claim that it is in fact a real thing; acting at your own discretion, that is. Your own volition, assert independence, me myself and I, that sort of shit.

Clearly, they’ve never been the first born of a highly elitist Pureblood family.

If you don’t know the Edwards, then not only do you lack knowledge, but you’re also not worth their time. For centuries, the family has set their seed in many different branches in the Ministry of Magic and thus made their name heard across all the many influential people that worked in the prestigious building. In most recent years, they’ve dabbled into politics and any position that allowed them a chunk of power. Alexander, head of the Edwards family, is seated upon the Wizengamot and expects his children, specifically his first born son, to follow in his footsteps.

But what if that’s not what Miles Alexander Edwards wants?

From the moment he was born, Miles was destined for greatness. Coming from a distinguished and noble family, his path had already been laid out for him before he even knew how to walk. From a young age, tales of supremacy and opulence had been read to him, stories about what awaited him and the future already molded for him. When he was old enough, his parents started breeding him to become the man they wanted him to be. Lessons of elegance, how to properly present one self, how to walk into the room and catch people’s attention, how to speak like an aristocrat. These lessons didn’t come easy for a boy who simply wished to play and be loved by his parents. With time, Miles had come to decipher the deception in his parents’ expressions and tried his best to meet their requirements.

When he finally displayed evidence of magic and was sent his letter to attend Hogwarts, the Edwards preferred to send their child to Durmstrang. Not only did they believe that the school would further mold their eldest in the bright leader they wanted him to be, but the fact that they didn’t allow Muggleborns certainly influenced their decision.

During his teenage years, Miles accepted the criticism and acted according to his parents wishes. He bit back his disagreements (the punishments that came with the accidental slip ups were not worth it) and suffered along with the horrid treatment simply to make his family proud and to have his four brothers and sisters look up to him as the future man of the house.

When he graduated, yet again, the choice wasn’t his: he was pushed into the Ministry and signed up to become a policymaker so he could eventually get up the ladder of success and take his father’s place in the Wizengamot.

However, the second Miles became of age, he decided to abide to this free will. In front of his parents and at the Ministry, he stood tall and exuded power and confidence just as it had been taught to him. But at night, Miles became himself. After years of following rules dictating to him from birth, he went against all of them in the dead of night. He crashed bars with friends, joined street fights, helped the community even if it implied doing somewhat shady jobs, engaged with Muggleborns, enjoyed the night life.

Posh Pureblood by day, rebellious carefree spirit by night. Thankfully, that's his little secret.

Option Two -
The snow had been falling steadily all morning and it didn't look like it was going to stop any time soon. Joshua Campbell scrunched his face up in a frown as he lifted his gaze to look to the sky. Snow. It really was quite a bother.

And it certainly didn't make it better that Diagon Alley seemed to be getting more and more crowded. Joshua sighed and pointed his wand at the large box that was currently placed on the doorstep of his shop. He had to get going. He had an order to deliver.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" The elderly man muttered and watched the box hover in the air for a moment. Honestly, did St. Mungo's really need that much tinsel? And with glitter of all things? He sighed again. If it hadn't been for the rather convincing stamp on the order, he would have been likely to believe it had been a prank by one of those orphaned rascals living up there.

Oh well, there was no point in waiting. Joshua deftly stirred the box down the doorstep and out onto the street, carefully levitating it above the heads of the crowd.

"Coming through! Coming through!" His voice sounded over the chatter of the crowd. "Keep out! Move ahead! Go on!" This was going way too slow. People were in the way and walking like they had all day! He huffed. Luckily the road was down hill.

"Coming through! Coming th--- arrrgh!" Joshua let out a loud shout as his feet suddenly slipped in the snow and sent him, the box, and several long strands of tinsel tumbling into the person who had been walking in front of him.

"For Merlin's sake!" Joshua muttered angrily as he hurried to his feet again, red and gold tinsel now decorating his black coat. "I am so sorry! This blasted snow!" He looked apologetic at the person he had crashed into.

Roleplay Response:
People didn’t need to know the Edwards to move out of the way when they walked into the room. Not only was their presence enough for people to sense that they were important people, but the scornful expression that seemed constantly placated on their faces could make anyone scour away from them and let them take center stage.

It appeared the effect extended to a very busy and crowded Diagon Alley.

As always, Miles followed in the shadows of his father, head held high and looking straight in front of him, ignoring the looks of bystanders much irritated having to move out of the way for high and mighty Purebloods that couldn’t be bothered by those lower than them. Finally, they reached their desired store and seeing how its insides seemed as packed as the streets outside, the man let his parents go in so at least, outside, he could enjoy the fresh air.

The second they disappeared within the sea of bodies inside, his whole posture loosened. He huffed a sigh of relief and craned his neck left and right to relief himself of the constant tension he made his body suffer whenever he stood in the presence of his stern parents. Rolling his shoulders, Miles set off to walk away until he was suddenly propelled forward and into the snow.

It took him a second to realize that the bright red in his vision was not blood dripping from his nose from the fall but rather very inoffensive tinsel. He pushed himself to his knees and watched the array of sparkling color around him, then turned his head to spot the apologetic face of the old man that seemed to have bumped into him. A small smile crept to his lips.

“Mate really, it’s fine, don’t worry about it. Let me help you.”

Getting to his feet, Miles wiped his hands on his coat and reached into it to take out his wand. With a few quick flicks of his wrist, he cleaned up the mess around him.

Hi, Miles!

Your application looks good so far, there's just a couple of things I need to flag before we can get you accepted.

As per the Ministry rules, characters under the age of 25 will start as apprentices or trainees. Therefore, Miles will be a Policymaker Apprentice and you will need to complete three terms in the Apprentice role (with at least one term passed) before he can be a Policymaker. You don't necessarily need to change this in your application, but be aware that when he's accepted, his title will be Policymaker Apprentice!

Secondly, standard Elsewhere Adult levels are 32, yours currently add up to 36. You'll either need to submit a special request for exceptional levels (however, please note that we only grant exceptional levels in very specific circumstances) or you'll need to edit to remove 4 of your 36 levels.

Once you've made the required change, please repost your entire revised application below, and we'll be more than happy to take another look. Thanks!
look out! look out!
'CAUSE EACH TIME I FALL
I'LL BE CRASHING DOWN
RIGHT THROUGH YOUR ARMS
