Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name: Elidir Rhodri Medraut

Birthday: 4th March 1924

Hometown: Prestatyn, Wales

Bloodline:
Pureblood

Magical Strength (pick one):
Transfiguration

Magical Weakness (pick one):
Conjuring & Summoning

Year (pick two): 5th please (if not, 4th)

Biography:

He liked the sea. He liked the countryside. He like the green rolling hills and the call of the seagulls over head. His toes sunk into the sand and he set off into a run along the shore. Prestatyn was a fine place to grow up. This had been a rather uneventful summer. Going into his 5th year at Hogwarts was going to be just like any other year he supposed. It was Gwyl’s last year there of course, next year might feel different. He would be the only Medraut there, not “Gwyl’s brother”. Not that he minded. He had always got on with Gwyl.

Perhaps Gwyl viewed him like he viewed Heulyn. She was only 9 and while she wasn’t old enough yet to hold an “interesting” conversation, she was immensely good fun.

Father and Mother had been kind enough to let him attend the camp this summer, perhaps to stop him grumping around the mannor and annoying Grandfather. He was not amazingly happy at home. Not unhappy, but not…content. He missed Eirwen.

The borders were closed and she was in France. She should have been back in Wales, the family together. He missed her terribly. Of course they wrote but it wasn’t the same.

Rhys had just left, on his own little career path. Good. He was welcome to it. Perhaps that was a little unkind but having such an older brother the was the model family pet was infuriating. “It’s just your age, you’ll understand we only want the best for you when you grow up a little”. Wisdom from his mother. Wisdom?

He wouldn’t think about that now.

He was glad he came from a large family. It took the pressure off somewhat. He was the 4th sibling, and youngest boy. Definitely not in line to take over “the family” and he was please as punch about that one. He had his own plans. Ever since his eldest sister had had her engagement announced, one that had been arranged for her, he had started making his own plans. He has suspected that it would happen but it hadn’t been an issue. He was young and unencumbered by such problems.

But Mother and Father had been married like that, and now Eirwen was to be too, no matter what he thought about it, or what she secretly thought about it. She would never say to Eli, never a bad word about their parents, but sometimes, just sometimes he could see a look in her eyes, and he more than suspected.

Supposedly 15 years old was not the time for a young man to make his mind up about his life. Apparently he didn’t have all the answers yet, but Eli was convinced he must have at least some of them. He was 15 after all! He was almost a man.

He had always been a head strong boy, even from birth, his Mother said anyway. He was strong willed but cheerful. He liked to see people smile, even if he didn’t feel like it at the time. Still, he was hardly ever in a bad mood. Life would play out the way it was meant to, he knew that. But even so, he was determined he would have a say in it.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request: Ravenclaw (if not, Gryffindor)

Personality: Eli is a rather headstrong lad. He is opinionated but this does not me he isn’t polite. He is the height of good manners. He was brought up well and is a gentleman. However he loves a good joke, absolutely and completely. He is always trying to make people smile. He can’t bare to see people miserable. He is very studious and loves books. He is very loyal but if theres a choice between a party and finishing an essay, you know he will have his nose in those books. In that way he is a bit of a geek. He has an extra trunk that he brings to Hogwarts just for books alone. Overall he is a nice guy, not terribly extravert but usually lurking about, with a smirk.

Appearance:

Eli is rather stocky for such a young boy. He enjoys Quidditch, not as much as his brother of course, who is obsessed but he values physical health as well as intellectual endeavours. He is of average height and looks. He has blue grey eyes that can be piercing at times. He has darkish hair and a strong jaw. He has a good sense of dress and is never scruffy.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.
Please reply to one of the Sample Roleplays below.

He and Chess had been wandering around for a while. It had of course, been an eventful day. Who’d have thought ones own brother could act in such a way. Gwylin had enjoyed the match a little too much. Even from where he was sitting Eli had heard him over nearly everyone else, yelling and cheering and heckling the other players. Eli smiled. Gwyl always managed to cheer him up. Of course they didn’t speak much during school hours. He was 7th year, older and has his own set of dopey moron friends.

It had been a shame for that boy though. Eli found himself feeling sorry for the one who had messed up so utterly. The look on his face, he would definitely not have wanted to be in his shoes.

Eli hadn’t much felt like going down to lunch early. He intended to grab a sandwich or two when the rabble of excited Quidditch aftermath had died down. Right now he was with Chess, his black and white little moggy wandering around the castle, keeping to himself and his own thoughts. Now and then he watched Chess pounce after a spider or attempt to hide behind a suit of armour and ambush him.

“Grrrrgleg” His stomach gave a rather unimpressed growl. It was time for lunch it seemed. Wandering down a corridor towards the hall he came across a sorry sight. That same boy, the poor emotional butterfingers was stomping in his direction. Eli lowered his eyes. He knew from previous experience that people in such moods had easily ignited tempers.

As if on cue, the boy decided to turn and accost the person behind him.

"WHAT! Haven't you ever seen a loser before? Why don't you just take a picture!"

Eli’s eyes widened as he tried to keep the smirk from his face. It was of course, not in the least amusing, except the fact that it really was. What poor fool had been lucky enough to incur that wrath? “Come on now” he called ahead, perhaps a little unwisely. “It’s hardly their fault, don’t take your bad mood out on the undeserving”. That was Eli’s problem. He never meant to get involved in anything, but he just couldn’t seem to keep his mouth shut.
