Hometown: Liverpool, England

Bloodline:
Muggleborn

Magical Strength (pick one):
Charms

Magical Weakness (pick one):
Divination

Year (pick two): First or Second

Biography:
Sean Simmons was raised the oldest of two children. His father was a Commander in the Royal Navy, and as such his home life was very strict and controlling. Sean was pushed hard from a very young age to be the man of the house, while his father was away on tours. His mother was a teacher, and as such, Sean struggled to make friends in school. It was not from a lack of trying, but more just other children being cruel and not wanting to be friends with the teachers kid. As such, the person Sean grew closest too was his younger sister, and they would do their best to have fun together whenever they weren't doing chores or studying. When his letter for Hogwarts came, it was a giant shock to his entire family, as he had always been a stern child with little imagination.

House Request: Sort Me :)

Personality:
Sean is a very stern boy, doing his best to focus on his studies. He is shy after years of rejection from other kids, but out from under his father's shadow, there is every chance he may open up and grow into a softer kindler personality. Due to how strict his father was, Sean has a strong respect for authority and the rules.

Appearance:
Sean is a stocky young boy, his dark hair shaved in a buzzcut, and his hazel eyes have a harsh look to them. He is constantly looking over other students or magical items as if hoping with a look to understand them, and he is very good at hiding his shock and fear.

Option I:

The dungeons. A place eleven-year-old Evangeline had not yet travelled since her arrival at Hogwarts.

A place she really was just fine with not knowing; but it was too late. The dare had been accepted, even if it had been done in fear of being kicked out of Gryffindor, like the older girls had said she would because Gryffindors were supposed to be brave.

The air changed instantly when she hit the main corridor of the dungeons. The dampness was almost too much for her and she instinctively took a deep breath to avoid the sensation of being suffocated. There was also a sour burning smell which Evangeline assumed was from many, many Potions lessons.

Further and further she walked, her steps so slow and gentle they made no noise against the stone walls and floor. The feeling that she wasn't alone crept up her spine and raised the tiny hair on the back of her neck. Shivering, Evangeline wrapped her arms around herself. Suddenly, she missed the warmth and comfort of the Gryffindor common room. The fire was always going and it made her feel at ease.

Why had she let those girls talk her into this? She was only eleven, she didn't have to be brave. Surely the Headmistress would not kick her out of Hogwarts for not being brave.

If only she had these thoughts while being dared to search for the ghost of one Emma Birch, whom supposedly haunted the dungeons. It was not, Evangeline had learned, the place where the sixteen-year-old girl's life had ended but as she had been from the house with a snake as its mascot, it was the place her spirit had returned to. That common room was down here somewhere, she'd been told.

Something - the small blonde girl wasn't quite sure what - but something made her stop in her tracks suddenly. There was a low, dull thumping noise. Or maybe that was her heart beating so loudly she thought it was coming from outside her body.

"H-h-hello?" Her voice was barely above a whisper.

Remembering that she was supposed to be brave, Evangeline tried again.

"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"

The sound of her own words bouncing back at her off the walls made her jump.

Sean stood in the dark corner of the dungeon, watching the young girl slowly shuffle into the room and look around. Her eyes hadn't adjusted to the dark enough to see him, and Sean was doing his best to keep his breath calm and quiet. He knew he should call out, maybe ask for help. After all he hadn't meant to come to the dungeons, but then the staircase had shifted, and the walls had faked so many doors that he had gotten lost. This was never where he was suppose to be.

When the girl squeaked out a hello, Sean stayed quiet, not sure she had seen him. When she asked about Emma Birch though, Sean finally stepped from the corner, keeping his back straight as his father had taught him, and his hands in his pockets. Doing his best to project himself as strong and in control, even as his heart thumped deep inside his chest.

"E-Emma Birch? Is she a professor?"

Sean's eyes ran over the small blonde girl and stepped out into the light of the room so she could see him. Eyes doing their best to appraise his fellow student, and sensing that she seemed a little afraid right now.

"I'm Sean. I.....the staircases moved. Are they supposed to do that? It seems like that must be a safety issue. And then there's the walls that pretend to be doors, and the doors that pretend to be walls. It's just so confusing."

Sean shook his head softly and looked around the dungeon again and then back to the blonde, watching her intently.

"What does Professor Birch look like? Maybe I can help you find her?"
