→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name: Winter Jane Penpraze.

Birthday: October 31, 1924.

Hometown: Huntington Beach, California.

Bloodline: Pureblood.

Magical Strength (pick one): Charms.

Magical Weakness (pick one): Conjuring & Summoning.

Biography: Winter Jane Penpraze was born in Huntington Beach, California on the ghostly holiday of Halloween night. Her parents - Damien and Azure Penpraze - were both ecstatic the day she arrived, although her due date wasn't supposed to be until November 10th. Growing up, Winter didn't have any siblings or many friends to play with, since her parents didn't want any more children and the kids thought she was a freak of nature. Despite this, she had a wonderful childhood living by the beach, one of the places she holds most dear to her heart. Most of her free time was spent wandering the sands and frolicking in the water, as it was one of the easiest ways to lose herself. One of her only friends, Caprice Melchior (NPC), suddenly moved away to Ireland when they were both eight. Her parents seemed to make the best of it as they noticed their child becoming almost depressed in a way. "Maybe you can go visit her sometime! You've always wanted to go to Ireland, haven't you?" are the words they always said, and eventually Winter was cheerful like she always was once again.

When she was around eleven, her parents made the decision to send her to Salem Institute in Massachusetts, which was both frightening and exciting to little Winter. She wasn't necessarily pleased with having to leave what she knew, but it was still a big moment for her. She would get to learn about magic and wizardry, the things that made her, well, her! Of course, she had accidentally made things explode or do other wacky things at times, but her parents reassured her that was normal. Winter eventually accepted the fact that if she wanted to learn, she would have to go. Now fifteen years of age, Winter is ready for anything.

Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

Society Request: Bishop or Knight.

Personality: Winter is an extremely shy, reserved girl. She doesn't tend to willingly make conversation, although she will if it comes to that. Winter can actually be decently ecstatic around her friends, but usually only if she has known them for a while and deems them trustworthy. She is mostly an optimist, as she wasn't raised in an atmosphere of pessimism.

Appearance: This girl has light blonde, slightly brown locks, falling down to around her rib cage when they're not curled. She was born with heterochromia - her left eye being a pale ice blue, her right a dark royal blue color. Her skin has always been very pale, one of her most popular nicknames being Snowball. Winter doesn't mind, however, as she can't ever picture herself being tan. She stands at about 5'9, which is tall for her age.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.

What were partner projects about anyway?

Simon wasn't a loner, but he loathed any type of assignment that required him to team up with anyone. In his book, the only truly trustworthy student was himself. So naturally, when he'd been instructed to team of with a classmate and turn in a research report on the Muggle-American Civil War, Simon had been rather disappointed.

The library that afternoon was deserted aside from Simon and his partner. Before them lay a plethora of textbooks. Wars: Old and New by Kevin Torvalt. When You Say Civil... by Emma Jean. Each book was old and worn even more than the last. In a way, it was almost impressive that the books had lasted this long and still been put to such good use. Simon figured that there weren't many things for which that could be said.

Simon leafed through a copy of Understanding America by Harvey Wires, sighing heavily as each page flipped over on top of itself. He wondered what the student next to him was thinking. He was thinking that this was a drag. These books were probably boring beyond belief, despite their interesting appearance. The library was stuffy from the heat outside. Finally growing too bored from the text, Simon slammed the book shut and sat upright.

"How about I write the essay and stuff? You can just put your name on it. Sound good?"

Winter's bicolor eyes were intensely fixed on a textbook, and she was reading about something she didn't truly care about. Although she learned a little bit about the Muggle-American Civil War growing up, there were still many things left unsaid about the war. The textbooks truly didn't bore her at all - she was one who absolutely loved reading. Winter's light blonde hair was flopped messily all around her, kind of in a 'I could really care less about my appearance right now' way.

The library was just the right amount of quiet for her liking - dead silent. It was the environment that allowed her to really focus, to absorb knowledge without any external distractions. Every so often she would look over at Simon, her partner for the research report.

Suddenly, Winter's tense focus shattered as a textbook slammed shut right next to her face. This caused her to nearly jump out of her seat as she glared at Simon with a frightened expression. 'How about I write the essay and stuff? You can just put your name on it. Sound good?" He had said. Winter took a moment or two to let his words sink in, as she was still in a partial state of shock from what had just happened.

"Absolutely not! I'm not letting you write it all. And besides, I actually find this interesting."
