Biography: (300 words minimum.)
Out of all the girls one can find in the U.K., none of them will be as kind and caring as Tiana Laray Archer, shortened to Tia. Born in the heart of London to Dominic Archer -a Ministry of Magic desk jockey for the Department of Law Enforcement- and Josephine Archer (nee Prichard) -a stay at home mother, she is the oldest of 3 child in her family. Her youngest brother, Samuel, is thirteen years younger than Tia and with the little magic he has, he attends the AB&C daycare in Diagon Alley. Her second youngest brother, Brandon, is five years younger than her and is classified as a squib. When most purblood families would have disowned anyone who was a squib, the Archers saw Brandon as nothing else but family. The Archers were too poor to afford a house elf, but they managed to get by just the same, with Josephine home schooling the children, and Dominic working with all his might to provide for everyone. It was her father’s constant disappearance that made her engulf herself fully into music at a very young age. Around the time she was seven years old, she began to sing wherever and whenever, which steadily grew into a common occurrence around the house, especially to her little brother when it was time for him to sleep. Her talent at such an early age earned her the nickname “Little Canary”, first coined by her father, around the neighborhood. Yet when she turned nine, her singing could make records play without anyone touching them; items like chairs and brooms would sway back and forth as if they were dancing. The very moment she became aware of what she was doing filled her with such happiness that she screamed as though someone took a knife at her throat, which made her mother come to where Tia was like a bolt of lightning. Josephine was a little mad at first for the false alarm, but her anger faded quick because her daughter just found out she’s a witch.

Upon entering Hogwarts at 10, after receiving her letter of acceptance, she couldn’t believe how breathtakingly beautiful the castle was. Tia had heard stories of the greatness that was Hogwarts, being both of her parents used to attend, but to actually see the caste for herself made her feel like no description could do it justice. Tia had no interest in discussing which house she would like to be in because she didn’t care. Her mother was a Gryffindor student, and her father was Ravenclaw, so she thought she would just be in either houses. It came as a bit of a surprise to her when the Sorting Hat placed her in Hufflepuff, but looking at the table of warm inviting students, just as hardworking as she was made her sprint to the table and hug the first person she saw.

Classes came and went for her, Divination came to here like a fish to water, and she seemed to be doing great in them, Summoning was her hardest class. The “Baby” in her name was soon dropped after her 3rd year and she was just known as “Canary” around campus. She told all that would listen to her that when she left Hogwarts she was going to pursue a singing career under that nickname as a mononym. It was also around her 3rd year that she took to writing her own music, filling a whole roll of parchment with songs she had written, and filling receptacle bins full of just as much parchment of songs she hated. Her absolute favorite place to write was by the old oak next to the lake. It was her go to place, even if she just needed to relax from school work.

Leaving Hogwarts after her 7th year was the hardest thing Tia felt she ever had to do in her life. She had grown attached to her house and everyone in it, but finally leaving the nest thrilled her just as much as it upset her. Now currently living in a shoe box apartment in the muggle world of London, she goes to open nights at taverns, and sometimes Hogsmeade and The Leaky Cauldron when she was allowed, and sing the songs of famous muggles as well as songs she has written herself, under the stage name “Canary” sometimes wearing a long, flowing, mustard yellow dress that was made for her by her mother. She detests this dress with every fiber in her being but she loves her mother far more, so she wears the dress anyway because it means so much to her. She hopes that her voice one day can be one of the greatest, and can fill the world with as much beauty as she felt that her life was filled by.

Roleplay:
You come across one of these posts on the site. Please select one & reply as your character:

The snow had been falling steadily all morning and it didn't look like it was going to stop any time soon. Joshua Campbell scrunched his face up in a frown as he lifted his gaze to look to the sky. Snow. It really was quite a bother.

And it certainly didn't make it better that Diagon Alley seemed to be getting more and more crowded. Joshua sighed and pointed his wand at the large box that was currently placed on the doorstep of his shop. He had to get going. He had an order to deliver.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" The elderly man muttered and watched the box hover in the air for a moment. Honestly, did St. Mungo's really need that much tinsel? And with glitter of all things? He sighed again. If it hadn't been for the rather convincing stamp on the order, he would have been likely to believe it had been a prank by one of those orphaned rascals living up there.

Oh well, there was no point in waiting. Joshua deftly stirred the box down the doorstep and out onto the street, carefully levitating it above the heads of the crowd.

"Coming through! Coming through!" His voice sounded over the chatter of the crowd. "Keep out! Move ahead! Go on!" This was going way too slow. People were in the way and walking like they had all day! He huffed. Luckily the road was down hill.

"Coming through! Coming th--- arrrgh!" Joshua let out a loud shout as his feet suddenly slipped in the snow and sent him, the box, and several long strands of tinsel tumbling into the person who had been walking in front of him.

"For Merlin's sake!" Joshua muttered angrily as he hurried to his feet again, red and gold tinsel now decorating his black coat. "I am so sorry! This blasted snow!" He looked apologetic at the person he had crashed into.

Roleplay Response:
The snowfall that took place in Diagon Alley was such a beautiful sight for Tia to see. She was on her way to one of the local pubs to hopefully be able to perform a piece she put together. In no clear rush, she stopped to marvel at the radiant garments she saw in the shop on her way, muttering under her breath with a highly ambitious tone, “One day soon, people will be begging me to wear beautiful dresses just like this. That day will come soon, and I know it.”

Afterwards, Tia ventured on pass St. Mungo’s and attempted to tread on straight to the nearest tavern when in the spur of the moment she heard a man scream right in front of her. She rushed down to the old man’s level on the icy ground, tinsels decorating her body as she stretched out a hand to the elderly man. “Are you alright there, Mr.?” she asked in a very concerned tone, “Do you need to go inside? Here let me help you." Tia pulled off the colorful and glittery tinsel back into the box. She grabbed her wand out of her pocket and pointed it towards the box. “Wingardium Leviosa” she said to the box that no hovered over the crowd once more. “Where are you going with these, sir? I’ll help you take them there if you want.
