CHARACTER INFORMATION
Character Name: Collin Matthew O'Conner

Gender: Male

Age: Eleven

Bloodline:
Pureblood

Parents/Guardians (Are they currently played characters?):
Collin's father Jonathan Vladmir O'Conner  was born on February 12, 1896. Up until age 11, he was tutored at home by private tutors. At age 11, he received invites to both Hogwarts and Durmstrang, but his parents insisted that he attend Hogwarts because the majority of the year, they lived in Ireland, not too far away from the family seat, and Hogwarts, consequently was closer. There, Johnathan was promptly sorted into Slytherin, but even though in his mind it was the most prestigious of the houses, Johnathan didn't like Hogwarts' narrow minded focus regarding magic.  He never did quite fit in at Hogwarts, and eventually he convinced his parents in his fourth year to transfer to Durmstrang.

When he transferred to Durmstrang, immediately a girl, one year his junior by the name of Chastity von Diedrik, the eldest daughter of a German count  developed a huge crush on Vladimir, and followed him around incessantly, driving him crazy. Vladimir didn't take kindly to what he considered borderline stalking by Chastity, but eventually she grew on him, and by Vladmir's  sixth year, the two started dating and fell in love.

After graduation, Vladimir went onto further study in discarding law and politics in Moscow and Berlin, constantly writing Chastity and visiting her on his breaks. When Chastity graduated one year later, the two married after a six month engagement, in a beautiful ceremony at the O'Conner Don Family manor in Connacht, Ireland. The newly married couple relocated to Moscow and then Berlin so that Vladmir could finish his further studies. Upon graduation from his further studies, five years later, Vladmir started off as a junior member to a successful wizarding law firm in Moscow, and worked his way up quite quickly. A mere five years later, he founded his own successful wizarding law firm that tailors to wealthy purebloods. It originally was started in London, but now has branches also in Moscow and New York City. His wife, Chastity personifies the ideal aristocratic pureblooded wife and mother. She is extremely fashionable, a fixture in both social and community service organizations, a fantastic socialite, entertainer, and a dedicated wife and mother.

Currently, neither are rped by anyone, but maybe one day that will change! :)

Residence:
Currently, the main residence of Collin, his parents, and Chastity (his sister) is a beautiful five bedroom manor overlooking the lake, just outside of Hogsmeade with many impeccable and gorgeous walled gardens. That is where Collin, his parents, and older sister reside for most of the year. However, during breaks, when not visiting relatives, his family also has smaller residences, typically a three or four bedroom townhouse in Moscow, New York City, and Galway that they frequent.

Do you plan to have a connection to a particular existing place (for example: the daycare)?
Nope, not right now, but I will be putting an application in for Hogwarts with him when student applications open.

Do you wish to be approved as a group with any other characters? If so who and for what IC reason?
Another player will be applying as Chastity O'Conner, Collin's older sister, but that's it.

Please list any other characters you already have at the site:
Should I really list them all? LOL. Currently I have, Irene Cecily O'Conner,  Kynan O'Conner, Elizabeth Vaelbe (formerly Elizabeth O'Conner), Isabella O'Conner, and Sanja Waldemar. Formerly, I also had Anne Marie Abbott, Meredith Norville, Miles MacPherson, Amity Addison, John O'Conner, Samantha Carlisle, etc.

Biography: (100 words minimum.)
Collin was born on a stormy Easter night, April 9, 1939 at 10:45 pm.

At first the doctor wasn't sure if he was going to make it.  His mother, already forty-two at the time was having difficulty with her pregnancy, considering her age, and it appeared that young Collin had his umbilical cord wrapped around his neck, and was having great difficulty breathing.  The doctor doubted the boy would survive, but miraculously he did.  The pregnancy had come as a surprise to both of Collin's parents, especially considering the age of the two, but obviously, in their minds and the whole O'Conner clan, God had truly blessed the O'Conner Don Family with an Easter miracle then when baby Collin and his mother both miraculously survived.

Growing up as the youngest of four, and considered an Easter miracle, Collin is spoiled, but at the same time, he is constantly being compared to his two older brothers, John and Brody, too.

John at one point was being seriously considered for the next head of family, but that changed when disappointingly John had been sorted into Hufflepuff at Hogwarts, and preferred art to politics and law.  By his fourth year at Hogwarts, John was no longer being considered for head of the family, and his family, parents, relatives, etc. looked down on him and treated him with indifference except for his more progressive Aunt Liz. Consequently, Collin's parents immediately chastised Collin whenever he showed any sign of being anything like his oldest brother.

As a result, John and Collin were never very close, and the major difference between their ages of twelve years didn't help matters. This was the case even though John tried to be closer to Collin, but Collin wouldn't have it. In spite of all that, John does still care deeply for his younger siblings Nadine, Chastity, and Collin.  He often sends them some of his paintings and drawings, and writes often from New York. Plus John visits them all when they are at the family's New York residence, but normally only for a few days at the most.  However, to say that the relationship between John, Collin, and Brody is strained, would be a huge understatement.

On the other hand, even though Collin was his parents' miracle child, they did everything they could to get Collin to be more like his other older brother, Brody.  Brody, in not only his parents' eyes, but relatives' eyes too, was the epitome of what a male O'Conner Don should possess: intelligence, ambition, pride, shrewdness, and excellent leadership qualities.  Consequently, when it was time for Brody to go to Hogwarts, it was no surprise to anyone that the Sorting Hat had barely touched his head before it shouted out Slytherin. The only thing negative regarding Brody in Collins' relatives' and parents' eyes was that he seemed to have no interest in wizarding law and politics, but rather had a tremendous passion for Potions.

Before Hogwarts, it was extraordinary how protective Brody was of his siblings, Nadine, Chastity, and Collin. Of course, like other relatives, Brody, didn't care much for his older brother, John. They fought often, and on many occasions Brody had tried to knock some sense into him, but failed miserably.

Growing up, Collin idolized his older brother, Brody, and longed to be like him. Collin would always follow Brody and mimic his mannerisms, attitude, and behavior in general, but at the same time was a bit more mischievous and slightly more lighthearted than him. Oftentimes Collin would play a prank or two on his older brother when both were home because he longed for Brody to pay attention to him.  It was always in good fun, but Brody was so serious, he never quite seemed to find the humor in such antics. It was disheartening to Collin, but even so, he never gave up trying to get Brody to relax a bit.

Additionally, when it came to lessons and sports, Collin always tried to outdo his older brother, at nearly any cost, but was successful maybe half the time. As a result, the two were incredibly competitive, and often friendly banter and wages resulted from it.
As for Nadine, his oldest sister, Collin, even though he was the youngest wouldn't let anyone get away with teasing or hurting her. Nadine was ten years older than Collin, but that didn't stop Collin from exacting revenge on anyone that dare hurt her, if he could. Collin always admired how self-confident, gifted, and creative Nadine was. Collin loved getting letters from her, and became quite upset when wizarding France sided with Germany during the last war because that meant fewer visits, stories, and letters from Nadine.

The same protectiveness Collin has can be said for his sister Chastity as well. Collin is extremely close to her, more so than to any of his other siblings, and when Brody and Nadine left home, he could always confide in her.

Chastity, in Collin's eyes, is probably the most intelligent sibling he has, and he wants to be just like her in that regard. Therefore, when it comes to grades and lessons, Collin's competitiveness is in full throttle because he still thinks he has something to prove, especially since he was only victorious over Brody maybe half the time. Perhaps it is a bit of a self-esteem issue, developed as a result of being compared to his older brothers all the time, but whatever the real reason is, there is no holding back when it comes to his sister, Chastity.  Even so, Collin would never willingly do something to hurt her, and if he did, he would never forgive himself for doing so.

Collin loves his parents dearly, even if some of their punishments may be rather unorthodox, even dark, in nature. Collin wants to make them as proud of him as they are of his older brother, Brody, and is willing to do anything to make that a reality.

Before receiving his letter to Hogwarts, Collin was tutored at home alongside his siblings by private tutors in mathematics, wizarding world and muggle history (though Collin never enjoyed the muggle history at all), German, Latin, Russian, French, English, reading, science, etiquette, and wizarding law basics. His parents and relatives gave Collin and his siblings basic  lessons in charms, potions, herbology, transfiguration, summoning/conjuring, defensive magic, borderline dark magic, and family history and traditions.

When not in lessons, Collin loves spending time with his family's pets (and still does), spending time with Brody, Nadine, and Chastity, reading, listening to classical music, playing wizarding sports, playing wizarding chess,  being outside, or hearing stories from his elders about his family's past. Like sons of all upper-class, influential, elitist, pureblooded families, Collin is subjected to numerous social gatherings, galas, balls, etc., but unfortunately for him he never has enjoyed them all that much. He always has found them rather taxing, but a necessary evil if the O'Conner Don Family is to maintain its prestige and influence.

Collin does adore travel, visiting his many relatives, and learning more about his family's deeply rooted traditions and history. He is always quite excited when his parents are planning family trips to places around the world because of the 'adventure' of sorts, but always does his utmost to stifle his excitement.

Collin may not be the most approachable, with his sarcasm, competitiveness, elitism, and standoffishness, but he isn't a bad kid. He's just so set on proving himself to his parents, relatives, the world, and wanting to become like his older brother, Brody, and father that Collin forgets that it is okay to be himself, too.

He always has been rather ambitious, cunning, sarcastic, and the ends justify the means type, but at the same time, Collin would do whatever was needed to protect his sisters, mother, father, and Brody. Though in Collin's mind, Brody and his father would never need his help with anything.

Collin can have a bit of a mischievous side to him as seen in the pranks he pulled on Brody growing up, but rarely shows that side to the public. Collin does like to learn new things, deep down, and can be extremely inquisitive if something really peaks his interest. On the other hand, he can also be rather lethargic and indifferent if the opposite is true.

He only tends to truly open up around Chastity, lately, but that is because Collin believes that doing so around anyone else, that hasn't truly proved themself to you is a weakness that can easily be exploited, and Chastity time and time again has never tried to do so.  Plus, Brody and his father have always kept their emotions under lock and key, in public, and that seems to have served them both quite well. Never give one's enemy(ies)', colleagues, or strangers ammunition to use against you after all.

Collin suffers from some self-esteem issues, but that is to be expected when you are always being compared to your older brothers. However, he isn't willing to admit that is the case. Collin in all honesty, is afraid to be someone other than what his big brother Brody is because he doesn't want to disappoint his parents and relatives like his oldest brother John has. Consequently, he often doesn't let himself be truly himself.  The truth is Collin has mimicked his older brother, Brody, elder O'Conner Don male relatives, and father for so long, he honestly doesn't even know what his true self is. Perhaps he really is just like them inside and out, but there's no telling right now for sure.

He is relatively slow to anger, but if you dare ever hurt someone he cares deeply for, or try to shame a relative (except for perhaps John and Aunt Liz), all bets are off as Collin will not hold back regarding revenge. He is not one that forgives or forgets, right now. Whether or not that will ever change, only God knows.

Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.

"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.

Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.

Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.  "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?"

Roleplay Response:
Now where had that darn crup known as Thor race off to? Collin sighed as he frantically tried to follow the path the demon crup had blazed right into Godric Park, grasping the black leash and collar Thor had managed to slip out of fifteen minutes earlier.

Collin was quite athletic, but even his endurance workouts apparently were no match for the determined crup as Collin could barely keep up with Thor, after he was hellbent on tracking some tantalizing, wafting scent emerging from either a small animal or another young witch or wizard.

Thor had always been one that wanted to meet every witch and wizard around, and greet them with sloppy, wet kisses after all.

The plan had been simple, walk Thor around the lake and Godric Park a few times to wear him out some, especially since it was such a beautiful day outside for once, just before it was mealtime for one of the O'Conner Don Family pets,  but apparently the devil crup, better known as Thor had other plans.

Normally, Thor wasn't this bad. He might bark and pull on the leash if he saw a bird, cat, or small rodent during his walks, but he had never actually escaped his leash and collar before.  But apparently the spell that had been placed upon the leash and collar by Collin's mother to prevent the crup from escaping had been weakened enough that the mischievous and clever crup had found a way to escape. This was not good, but at least it happened in a wizarding area rather than a muggle one. Otherwise, things might have gotten a bit ugly. And for that Collin was immensely grateful.

Panting hard, Collin finally caught sight of where the cunning crup had run off to.  Apparently, the little girl on the toy broom had garnered Thor's attention, as it appeared that the young crup was bounding happily to the girl who by then had apparently caught eye of Collin as she seemed to bark sharply at him requesting him to play.

Collin was not amused at the rudeness, and he was about to bark back at her with something along the lines of, can't you see that I'm busy, but he resisted. Instead a brilliant idea came to him. Maybe if he could convince the girl to distract Thor, then he could easily slip the collar and leash back around him and regain control before the scene escalated any further. Brilliant. Collin had no intention of playing with the young girl, but this was a golden opportunity for him to snatch Thor up before his parents got wind of the situation, and consequently would punish him.

Therefore in a sweet, calm, reassuring voice Collin replied to the girl who had barked at him, "Tell you what, if you can scoop Thor up and bring him back to me, I promise to play with you for a couple of hours, even let you get on my broom with me and fly a bit, but not until I get back from taking him home, first, because it is mealtime for him. And I'm sure like me, you don't want Thor to be hungry, right? After all, he is cute, isn't he? So what do you say? Is it a deal? I won't be gone for more than thirty minutes, I swear!"

Excitedly, Thor continued his bounding toward what still seemed to be in the direction of the girl and Collin stopped for a minute to catch his breath and wait for the girl's response.
The truth of the matter was that the moment Collin got home and fed Thor, he wasn't going back to Godric Park  because he had too much homework still to do from his lessons for the day, but she didn't need to know that.
