→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name: Christoph Alexander Grey

Birthday: October 31st

Hometown: White Chapel, London

Bloodline: Pureblood

Magical Strength (pick one): Charms

Magical Weakness (pick one): Conjuring/Summoning

Year (pick two): First Year

Biography:

Christoph Alexander Grey is a Pureblood Wizard whom was born Eleven years ago to Thaddious and Vivian Grey. Raised in the Pureblood lifestyle he was pushed through typical things like etiquette and the like, his mother Vivian being a stickler for such forms of politeness and insisting they be drilled into him from a young age. He's been tutored in a handful of things prior to beginning his schooling which he hoped to be soon. These things include the basics of potions and light charms work as well as other things. He has a fascination for Divination and has read a couple books on the subject.

Though his parents seem to smother him with affection when they're around their respective careers and social lives keep them busy and Christoph has grown up with mostly House Elves for company in his hours of loneliness. Something he, despite not being the nicest child and having a rather cold and aloof demeanor, hopes will change when he starts school.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request: Slytherin

Personality:

Christoph is smart, Cunning, and Ambitious. He's small and young which causes people to underestimate him and forget that he's had certain things drilled into his head from birth. He's antisocial to an extent, mostly due to his extensive fears of rejection and betrayal. After years of growing up really only able to rely on himself it's a difficult habit to break. He doesn't wish to make friends only to discover later they've stabbed him in the back or disappeared entirely. So for the most part with the exception of a small few he sticks to making Allies instead of friends. Acquaintances that will benefit him and help him achieve whatever he may desire after graduation.

Christoph can be nice and friendly but only when it suits him or he believes it to be the right course of action. Due to his calculating nature he's also rather manipulative as he has a tendency to try and control those around him in a subtle and almost unnoticeable manner. If by some miracle someone does actually befriend him though, he's extremely loyal and protective. Unless they do something to ruin the friendship they've found a friend and Ally for life. Has a head for potions and charms.

Appearance:

Christoph is a relatively tall for an Eleven yea old. It's one of the reasons along with his sharp tongue and ways with words he's often mistaken as being older than he is. He has a mop of brownish hair and is of lean stature. He's in decent shape due to regular exercise and has the beginnings of a runners build. He also has a small birth mark on the side of his neck hidden by his hair shaped almost like a bird.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.
You come across one of these posts on the site. Please select one & reply as your character. Remember, you can only roleplay your own character's actions, not Evangeline's or Hugh's.

Option I:

The dungeons. A place eleven-year-old Evangeline had not yet traveled since her arrival at Hogwarts.

A place she really was just fine with not knowing; but it was too late. The dare had been accepted, even if it had been done in fear of being kicked out of Gryffindor, like the older girls had said she would because Gryffindors were supposed to be brave.

The air changed instantly when she hit the main corridor of the dungeons. The dampness was almost too much for her and she instinctively took a deep breath to avoid the sensation of being suffocated. There was also a sour burning smell which Evangeline assumed was from many, many Potions lessons.

Further and further she walked, her steps so slow and gentle they made no noise against the stone walls and floor. The feeling that she wasn't alone crept up her spine and raised the tiny hair on the back of her neck. Shivering, Evangeline wrapped her arms around herself. Suddenly, she missed the warmth and comfort of the Gryffindor common room. The fire was always going and it made her feel at ease.

Why had she let those girls talk her into this? She was only eleven, she didn't have to be brave. Surely the Headmistress would not kick her out of Hogwarts for not being brave.

If only she had these thoughts while being dared to search for the ghost of one Emma Birch, whom supposedly haunted the dungeons. It was not, Evangeline had learned, the place where the sixteen-year-old girl's life had ended but as she had been from the house with a snake as its mascot, it was the place her spirit had returned to. That common room was down here somewhere, she'd been told.

Something - the small blonde girl wasn't quite sure what - but something made her stop in her tracks suddenly. There was a low, dull thumping noise. Or maybe that was her heart beating so loudly she thought it was coming from outside her body.

"H-h-hello?" Her voice was barely above a whisper.

Remembering that she was supposed to be brave, Evangeline tried again.

"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"

The sound of her own words bouncing back at her off the walls made her jump.

Option 2:

That rat of his was in for it now.

The gray little rascal had disappeared from his clutches at breakfast. Again.

Before Hugh even knew what was happening, Merlin had shot across the floor, somehow managing to avoid all the feet walking across the hall and had escaped through the open doors.

Which meant that Hugh was now stomping through rows of flowers and other various flora, searching for the small creature. It was like the rat knew Hugh was allergic to most flowers. Merlin always chose to run to the gardens whenever he got away from Hugh. It was as if the rat did not want to have him for an owner.

Hugh had named his pet Merlin because he had hoped the powerful name would give the rat more incentive to be more than a rat. Not that he expected Merlin to change into a wizard or anything, but rats were just so...useless, for the most part. With a name like Merlin, Hugh thought it might give the rat purpose.

The only purpose Merlin seemed to have was getting away from Hugh as often as possible.

As the fifth year trudged into the second row of flowers, not taking much care to avoid trampling the first row, he felt the first sneeze building up pressure in his nose and behind his eyes.

"You blasted rat! Where are you?"

He pulled apart a section of bright red flowers; he didn't know what they were called because he despised flowers, and ducked his head low to peer into the depths of the flowerbed. It was moving closer in proximity to the flowers that finally did it. Hugh took in three great breaths and then let out an almighty sneeze. It was strong enough to disturb some of the dirt on the ground before him.

Groaning, he stood up again and wiped his nose on his sleeve. It was as he was turning his head, his nose running up and down his arm, that movement in his peripheral vision caught his attention. Normally one who preferred to put his best face forward, Hugh was a bit embarrassed to be caught wiping his runny nose on his robes.

Nevertheless, Hugh put on his best haughty voice. albeit a bit thickly with his plugged nose and said, "Can I help you with something? It is not polite to stare."

Response:

Christoph found that he liked the Dungeons. They were peaceful and he was able to ignore some of the more rambunctious students in Hogwarts by retreating there. But sometimes even though it was rare, someone would come looking in the Dungeons for whatever they thought they might find. How was he to know what for? This particular time he heard a voice. It was clear the girl was frightened but Christoph wasn't some white knight and he definitely wasn't some Gryffindor. He slowly walked out into view with a bored expression on his face as if the girl meant very little to him.

"What are you doing down here?" He asked in a tone that implied that he didn't really care. More than anything he was irritated about his quiet time being interrupted. "Surely you know that you aren't supposed to be wandering around alone..despite this being a school there are plenty of dangers one could stumble on. Wouldn't want anything bad to happen to you." He added once again, his tone betraying the fact that he wouldn't particularly care if she was dissolved by some dangerous potion or eaten by a Devil's Snare.

Persillia Knoxx
Christoph Grey

Biography: (300 words minimum.)

Hugo Grey is Christoph's older brother by ten or so years and he too was born to Thaddious and Vivian Grey. He has a very different outlook on the home situation than his younger brother as well, something that causes arguments between the two frequently. He believes that their parents are neglectful and unfit. That the only reason his little brother, and earlier when he was in the position of being a child; himself are alive is because the House Elves were there to ensure they ate. It's also why even though the Estate is his primary residence that he moves in and out of it constantly...tired of seeing his little brother mistreated, but unable to leave him alone.

Hugo works as a Mercenary. His solitary lifestyle that he's had all his life and his complete disregard for anyone but himself and his younger brother being the key for pushing people away and avoiding them approaching him. The similarities between him and Christoph in this respect probably another cause for their inability to get along for more than a few hours at a time, though it's very easy to see that Hugo's personality is slightly colder than his brothers and his lack of friends and acquaintances is intentional where as Christoph's is not.

Hugo as previously stated attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for seven years as a student of Slytherin house before graduating with some of the highest grades in his year. He had his pick of jobs, however he decided on being self employed. A Mercenary of all things as he did everything from Assassinations to recovering stolen or missing items, and locating missing persons. He discovered he was remarkably good at the job once he started and despite everything...he finds himself enjoying it's requirements.

Roleplay:
You come across one of these posts on the site. Please select one & reply as your character:

Option One -
Amelia Nixon was many things, but she was never a pushover reporter that people could just usher away with a busy shuffle past. She was dedicated and eager to cut to the very middle of the current political tensions because she was Amelia Nixon and her articles would most certainly become front page material.

“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“

Another one brushed passed her, the shuffling busy masses making their way through Diagon Alley for the lunchtime rush. This had been the best possible time to get people, but none of them were giving her anything to go with.

Only momentarily discouraged, the short red headed lady took a seat on a nearby bench. Her quill resting in her left hand and her notepad ready in the opposite hand. Amelia pouted, tapping the quill against her leg as she scanned the waves of people for somebody - anybody - who looked like they had something to say.

She had been dreaming of her name in bold print, Amelia Nixon: The Source of Today’s Tomorrow. She had been dreaming of the larger office and the secretaries that would fetch her the morning coffee and fetch her anything she needed. The VIP interviews and the most exclusive press passes. But all Amelia had was a page seventeen piece on the rising number of frogs in London.

Hardened by a day of no success, the reporter stood up and started to trod off down the alley. A loose stone on the cobble path caught her heel, sending the distraught girl toppling down to the ground.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!” she yelled as she tried desperately to recover her shoe frantically in the middle of the Diagon Alley moving crowds.

Option Two -
The snow had been falling steadily all morning and it didn't look like it was going to stop any time soon. Joshua Campbell scrunched his face up in a frown as he lifted his gaze to look to the sky. Snow. It really was quite a bother.

And it certainly didn't make it better that Diagon Alley seemed to be getting more and more crowded. Joshua sighed and pointed his wand at the large box that was currently placed on the doorstep of his shop. He had to get going. He had an order to deliver.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" The elderly man muttered and watched the box hover in the air for a moment. Honestly, did St. Mungo's really need that much tinsel? And with glitter of all things? He sighed again. If it hadn't been for the rather convincing stamp on the order, he would have been likely to believe it had been a prank by one of those orphaned rascals living up there.

Oh well, there was no point in waiting. Joshua deftly stirred the box down the doorstep and out onto the street, carefully levitating it above the heads of the crowd.

"Coming through! Coming through!" His voice sounded over the chatter of the crowd. "Keep out! Move ahead! Go on!" This was going way too slow. People were in the way and walking like they had all day! He huffed. Luckily the road was down hill.

"Coming through! Coming th--- arrrgh!" Joshua let out a loud shout as his feet suddenly slipped in the snow and sent him, the box, and several long strands of tinsel tumbling into the person who had been walking in front of him.

"For Merlin's sake!" Joshua muttered angrily as he hurried to his feet again, red and gold tinsel now decorating his black coat. "I am so sorry! This blasted snow!" He looked apologetic at the person he had crashed into.

Roleplay Response:

Hugo was walking through Diagon Alley when it happened. The storm of people crowding through the streets as they usually did around Lunch. The woman who undoubtedly was trying to do her own job, which normally he didn't pay no mind to. The stumbling, the breaking of her heel. She was in front of him now slowing him down. He groaned as he considered his options. He could shove past her...he should. Or he could actually offer a hand for once in his life to someone who wasn't his little brother.

"Accio, Shoe." He muttered calling it to him. Summoning wasn't his favorite thing in the world but he was competent with most things. "You need to be far more careful with what you put on your feet and where you're going." He added in her direction handing her the shoe with a look that said he was personally offended by her incompetent behavior. "Least someone takes advantage and robs you or something...perhaps for being irritating and in distress?" He suggested.

Roleplay:
Reply as your character to the following:

Godric Park.

Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.

"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.

Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.

Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.  "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?"

Roleplay Response:

Christoph's head turned sharply at the voice that if he were honest? Grated on his ears. The rudeness of addressing someone in such a way not helping the young girl's case. He was odd. That much he knew for certain. Always told he acted in a way that differed from most eleven year olds and he did. He acted slightly older and due to him being slightly taller than most of his fellow children? He often was mistaken for older. Cold blue eyes took in the young girl with distaste and she was young. He wasn't impressed.

He'd been standing off to the side of things reading his book for the upcoming year, he was hoping to get his Hogwarts letter. However this girl who...from what he could tell, was alone. Where were her parents or other family? Then again people may ask the same of his own mother and father. They were too busy to accompany him to the park.

"No thanks. I was busy reading before you interrupted me. Might I suggest finding someone...and actually asking politely next time? Most people don't like 'Hey You' or things like that. They prefer to be asked their names and for it to actually be used." He drawled before ignoring the girl in favor of returning to his text.
