Biography:
Wade’s family moved from London to Oxford in 1940 when his father took a position at the Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. His parents had both of their children during the war. The first was Wade in 1939 when his father was 32, and the second in Oxford in 1944. He was fortunate that his father was able to stay in Oxford during the war with the exception of a year as a a Major in the Royal Army Medical Corps. Oxford was also spared the bombing seen in other parts of England, so Wade’s life so far has been relatively sheltered from the war.

Wade is extremely warm and welcoming - he likes to be everyone’s friend and wants to make everyone laugh. He will actually come into your room and charmingly bug you because he doesn’t want to be on his own and wants to hang out. He might for example launch himself on top of you so you have to stop studying.

Though he is energetic in nature, he is incredibly patient and makes for a great listener and practical problem-solver. He will go well out of his way to help the people he loves, whether that means offering them practical assistance, or taking them out to get their mind off things.

At his worst, Wade can suddenly become aggressive and dominating, in particular when he feels unneeded or unappreciated. He can also be possessive, and his “help” may appear intrusive or self-satisfying.

Wade has straight, brown hair. He takes care to be well-dressed and groomed in a conventional, socially-approved way.

Wade stood thoughtfully at the gardens. A fellow first-year, Mary, had her birthday coming up and he and some other first years wanted to make the day special for her. As first years, they didn’t yet know much magic, so things needed to be done the muggle way. Would it be improper to pick flowers from the school gardens? Wade decided he didn’t care. He just hoped there weren’t any unusual, magical flowers to contend with. But maybe he should not be involved with this particular project. It was really a bit too romantic.

Suddenly an older boy trudged into the flowers, sneezing and yelling something about a rat before noticing Wade. “I was just checking out the gardens,” Wade said cheerfully. “Do you need help with something?
