Biography: (300 words minimum.)
"What's mine is mine, and what's yours is mine too"

Street rat. Pickpocket. Mercenary. All these words are descriptions that barely scratch the surface of the man Logan Montclair was, or "Chip" as he preferred people call him. Originally born in Toronto, Canada, he is the illegitimate son between a muggleborn witch by the name of Leila Montclair, and a high society male muggle who never gave her his name. Finding too much despair in Toronto, Leila relocated her family to America for a fresh start in New York City, a place where she heard dreams come true. If this was the cause, she was heading into a dream one would have while experiencing sleep paralysis.

After living in NYC for a decade, Leila had managed to find work within a muggle clothing factory, making just enough so she and her son don't go hungry. All the while, Logan tagged along with mischief like a parasite, picking the pockets of muggles and wizards, as well as burglarizing the homes of them indiscriminately. Needless to say, he was caught most of the time by aurors, so often he knew a few on a first name basis. Chip's knack for trouble constantly put him and his mother at each other’s throats. She would constantly berate him, saying that if he doesn't change his ways, he'll spend his life behind bars. Chip could care less about what his mother thought of his sticky hands, because everything he didn't get caught with brought in load more money than what his mother was bringing home.

Eventually, he was sent an acceptance letter to Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This didn't come to a shock to Chip, since random magic happening would give him away when he tried to hide from trouble. Nor did it garner enough attention from his mother, since he was expelled from almost all the schools in New York. Before the start of his first year, he insured that he'd be better at getting what he wanted. Chip hung around the lowlifes of New York, who to him were a better than any prissy teacher that always told him he wouldn't amount to anything. From them, he learned how to pick locks, be more attentive when he entered a room, and how to read a person to get a better idea of if it's worth taking from them or not.

Chip reaped what he had sown, but not in a way that was best for anyone. While at Ilvermorny, he took anything he felt he had to have, from other students Christmas presents to items from the shops in the neighboring areas when the students were free to roam. In his third year, a fight broke out when an older student's gold trim omnioculars went missing. With one punch, his two front teeth chipped causing the trademark gap in his smile. The head nurse told him nothing could be done about it, but he already had an extensive history of taking things from the hospital wing, so he never knew if they were telling the truth or not. Shortly after, other students began to mock him, calling him Chip the Thief. The mocking had the opposite effect of what it was intended for. It boosted his confidence, which made him go after bigger prizes, and all because he had what he thought was a very cool nickname.

As his skills in theft grew with his skills in the classroom, it was easier for him to take what he wanted, but it also made no one want to be around him. It was seldom that his peers wanted to be around him, and when they did Chip ultimately drove them away when he got what he wanted from them. There was only one person he couldn't disappoint, and that was a girl by the name of Amalie who was only a year younger. She came from a similar background as him, nonexistent father and a mother too busy to pay attention, and when he tried to take from her, he would find his own belongings. Chip learned a lesson from her that he treasures as a rule to this day.  Why take from those who can't afford much? You are what you take, and master thieves take master treasures.

At the end of his Fifth year, they both took their crime spree a step to far. What they planned for months was to take the quill of acceptance from the headmaster's office. Even though the scheme was extremely well thought out, having an excellent exit strategy and alibi, they were caught red handed by the headmaster himself. This resulted in the both of them being expelled from the school, so they can't return for Chip to start his sixth year and for Amalie her fifth. Like a domino effect, it was the last straw for Leila too. Chip was kicked out of his home and forced to live on the streets of New York City. He wasn't alone, for the same fate had been given to Amalie.

No lesson was learned from this experience, but the two's bond grew immensely to the point where it grew to a romantic level. They had both heard stories of a muggle couple in Texas or Louisiana that was known as the best thieves a couple could be. They didn’t care that the stories ended with both of them dead, because they figured that they had magic, and that couple didn’t.

Sticking to their rule, both Chip and Amalie were so good (or bad, depending on how you look at it) at their craft that they were charging whoever would pay them to take or plant items by the time they were 22 and 21 respectively. Life seemed to be going well for them they thought. It was the night that they were given a job to retrieve a special wand that everything went down hill. Willow with a thunderbird feather core, which made the wand just as valuable as it was unstable. The wand had belonged to a wealthy pureblood wizard who could never control the random curses that would shoot from it, but still kept it as a centerpiece for people to gawk at. They almost managed to get the wand with out a trace, but the owner came back home in time to catch both of them red handed. As they managed to escape the wizards house and apparate outside, a single curse was shouted at them, and a flash of green light disappeared with the two. When they appeared at their safe house, Chip was unharmed, but the motionless body that was Amalie lied on the ground with it's eyes open, and not a sign of life was in sight. Out of all the disappointing things in Chip's life, no hardship came close to him grieving over the one person who understood him. They became like the couple they idolized, but far worse, for Chip had to move along with his life without her.

The good that came out of it was that Chip had the wand for the witch that hired them, but Chip felt he was owed more than just money. The wand seemed to agree since it's will wouldn't bend for any other person, but would answer to Chip without shooting a curse. It felt to him it was fate, forming like a bond which his original wand never gave him, so grabbed what he could he fled with it by stowing away on a muggle ship bound for England, feeling that by regular means, someone from the witch who hired him would be looking for him

Three years later, the American has made a a little name for himself again, finding jobs here and there. It's not keeping him afloat like the ones back in America, but he gets by. He lives in Residential Wizarding London, but where he can be found most of the time is in Diagon Alley, crashing at the inns there to shake aurors off his trail. He's always so elusive due to his wand, as thunderbird does, senses what the wizard finds to be a danger before they happen.

Option One -
Amelia Nixon was many things, but she was never a pushover reporter that people could just usher away with a busy shuffle past. She was dedicated and eager to cut to the very middle of the current political tensions because she was Amelia Nixon and her articles would most certainly become front page material.

“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“

Another one brushed passed her, the shuffling busy masses making their way through Diagon Alley for the lunchtime rush. This had been the best possible time to get people, but none of them were giving her anything to go with.

Only momentarily discouraged, the short red headed lady took a seat on a nearby bench. Her quill resting in her left hand and her notepad ready in the opposite hand. Amelia pouted, tapping the quill against her leg as she scanned the waves of people for somebody - anybody - who looked like they had something to say.

She had been dreaming of her name in bold print, Amelia Nixon: The Source of Today’s Tomorrow. She had been dreaming of the larger office and the secretaries that would fetch her the morning coffee and fetch her anything she needed. The VIP interviews and the most exclusive press passes. But all Amelia had was a page seventeen piece on the rising number of frogs in London.

Hardened by a day of no success, the reporter stood up and started to trod off down the alley. A loose stone on the cobble path caught her heel, sending the distraught girl toppling down to the ground.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!” she yelled as she tried desperately to recover her shoe frantically in the middle of the Diagon Alley moving crowds.

Roleplay Response:
It had been fairly busy in Diagon Alley, which may have been luck favoring Chip. Jobs were becoming a little scarce, and he needed to find something to get him through the night at let, and a busy shopping area with wizards and witches with deep pockets just had to be fate. Teetering around, looking as if he was very clumsy or possibly drunk, he bumped hard from to person, and dug deep into their pocket for any coin he could grab. One man visibly grew suspicious of this, and to this Chip slurred his speech to make his act more believable. "Surry maan," he told him while adding a hiccup for authenticity. It appeared to have worked, for than man just shrugged the American off with very little regard.

What stopped him from picking the next pocket he saw surprisingly wasn't an auror, but the shout of a damsel in distress. Chip turned to see a woman with a broken heel, a rather beautiful lady at that who also looked as if she had change to spare. So who was he to deny such a woman aid he thought to himself. Weaving his way through the crowd, he made it to the side of the girl and extended a hand to her, "Let me help you up, nothing so pretty should be left on the floor like this." Every word he said to her seemed to be coated in honey. "The name's Chip. Logan is my real name, but everyone calls me Chip for obvious reasons," he told her while he pointed to the gap in his smile.  Chip grabbed the broken piece of the woman's heel, "I can fix it for you, if you want me to. Also, I don't know if I heard you right, but if you are from the Prophet I can answer some questions for you. Hopefully over a drink, maybe?"
