Biography: (300 words minimum.)
ZsaZsa was born in Vienna to Analiese Lang; her father's identity was always nebulous and something Analiese never revealed (ZsaZsa suspects she could not be completely sure, but that reflects what good opinion she has of her mother.!) Her mother was born a squib to a middle-class pureblood family from Munich, and though she wasn't disowned by her parents as such she was not treated kindly, which resulted in her setting off for Vienna. Unable to stay away from the wizarding world, she eventually took employment as the housekeeper of a rich pureblood widow, Lady Briget Drachenflamme.

ZsaZsa was her mother's only child for a long time. When she turned 11 she was relieved to receive her acceptance letter for Eisenstab Hexengymnasium, the wizarding school where her grandparents were educated and which her mother should've attended. Her relationship with her mother worsened from that point on, and ZsaZsa suspects it is down to jealousy, pure and simple. When ZsaZsa was 15, her mother announced she was pregnant again. The child's father was a wizard by the name of Egbert Weisz; a friend of Lady Drachenflamme's son Alf. Her mother's employer was of course furious, and threathened to fire Analiese if she did not give up the child for Egbert's family to look after. Despite protesting vehemently at first, Analiese eventually complied. She knew the young boy she gave birth to would be better off with the wealthy Weisz family, and at 43 years old she did not feel she had the energy to find another job and look after a small baby. ZsaZsa never quite forgave her mother, whom she accused of being heartless and irresponsible.

After graduating from the school of witchcraft and wizardry, she did not maintain contact with her mother for very long. She remained in Vienna but their paths only rarely crossed; ZsaZsa frequented venues where she knew her squib mother would never feel welcomed, and quite frankly she was thankful for it. Their relationship had considerably worsened after the birth of her half-brother, and matters were made worse when Analiese failed to attempt her daughter's graduation ceremony. She blamed her employer for it saying she was not allowed the time off, but ZsaZsa knew Lady Drachenflamme was quite fond of her (they shared the same sort of fiery spirit) and did not believe a word of it. ZsaZsa found work in a cabaret called the 'Beschwipst Einhorn' (the tipsy unicorn) ran by the handsome Whilelm Alraun as a barmaid and waitress. It did not take long for her to be tangled in a passionate affair with her new boss; he was mysterious and irresistible and she was head over heels for him although she disliked sshowing it (her cool, detached attitude was always her trademark.

Before long she was introduced to Whilelm's 'Inneren Kreis' (inner circle) - a group of businessmen from all corners of Magical Europe and beyond trading illegal objects pertaining to the dark arts. While most of their buyers maintained that they were merely 'collectors' ZsaZsa never bought into it, but she was fascinated by this dark side of society and quickly got entangled in the whole business. she was in too deep.

Matters worsened when ZsaZsa discovered she was with child. Only at this moment did she discover the life Whilelm led away from the Beschwipst Einhorn; he was married, had two young sons, and had no intention of breaking his family ties in order to shelter his young mistress. ZsaZsa was heartbroken, but she was careful not to let it show and keep her pride intact. She should have known.

To soften the blow (and to keep her quiet) he offered to buy her a venue of her own so that she could have a roof over her head and an income to keep herself and her unborn child afloat. She did not care to stay in Austria or to return to Germany where she had been schooled, and instead requested to settle in London. Whilelm complied, and he secured a property deed in her name on Knocturn Alley. It was in a pitiful state but of good size; he paid for the upstairs to be renovated into one large and one small apartment, and for the downstairs area to be turned into a cabaret bar. The Peridot Lounge was born.

Within weeks of its completion ZsaZsa gave birth to a daughter. Whilelm came to see her once before returning to Austria; it was a brief and unpleasant visit. ZsaZsa decided to cut ties with him after that; it was just her and her little girl, whom she'd named Pepper, for now on. She registered her birth and gave her her own surname, as her own mother had done.

The Peridot Lounge became her life; it was a deliciously classy place, filled with a slight scent of danger and perversion. The large upstairs apartment she claimed for herself, and she hired a young woman to care for Pepper at night when work called. As for the small apartment, she uses it to entertain private guests and potential buyers; she kept her connections with the black market world, much too lucrative for her to pass up on.

On occasion, the downstairs cabaret area is used for auctions during the day, all of which are private affairs on invitation only.

Roleplay:
Reply as your character to the following:

It was impossible for Dianne to stay out of trouble. It wasn't that she was looking for trouble, it's just that trouble always managed to find her. Today she wished she could find something equally familiar but more comforting.

The five-year old girl hugged her puffskein closer to her and brushed her face in its soft fur for comfort. She had named him herself and he was always her special pet. No she was certain she had never gone down this side street before. Her anxiety increased every second as darkness fell as she walked down the road. A loud noise came to her left and she buried her face in her pet's fur completely. The scared girl bolted the opposite way slamming the both of them into the wall of the nearest building. Tottering back a few steps she found a door a few feet to her right and ran to open it. What light there was inside spilled out into the darkness and she spilled into the room.

Once in, she was caught between the impulse to curl her cloak up more tightly around her and loosen her grip on it. She wasn't alone anymore but she was now among strangers instead, which was nearly as terrifying. Her puffskein had recovered from the shock of the wall and now was purring contentedly as the girl hugged it, causing a mildly calming effect on the girl. Gathering her courage, she marched up to the nearest person, pulled on the nearest clothing hem and blurted out in a loud voice:

"I'm lost and it's dark and I wanted to know where I am but I'm not scared but I am worried that Sambundeakin is scared because he's little and needs something to eat and wants to go home."

She paused to draw a breath in her nearly never-ending sentence, "He misses my and his mommy."

To explain the scared girl held up the custard-colored puffskein. Sambundeakin the puffskein, however simply purred as if nothing on earth was wrong in the world.

Roleplay Response:
The kitchens were in shambles. The cabaret only served a small selection of high-brow canapes but apparently that was still enough to ruffle their new chef's feathers. It was his 3rd night working for ZsaZsa and she couldn't help but think that he'd greatly enbellished his curriculum. She could not imagine him working in a busy, upscale restaurant; she only had a few patrons in at this early time of night and already he was falling behind with the orders.

ZsaZsa stood by the back door, in a corner which mostly concealed her, and observed him with a critical eye. When she felt a gentle tug at the hem of her dress she assumed it to be her daughter, but when she looked down she was surprised to see the face of a very different little girl. She could not remember ever seeing her before, and did not recall Pepper mentioning she was having any friends over. Besides, she looked a little bit old to enjoy her little girl's company; she was not quite 3 years old yet, and the child before her had to be at least 4 or 5.

Before she could ask herself (or indeed the little girl) any more questions, the young thing very eloquently explained the dilemma at hand, all the while clutching a fluffy little creature who seemed rather oblivious to the whole situation. ZsaZsa took a few seconds to absorb the string of words that had just been thrown at her, then gave what she hoped was a reassuring smile.

''Now then, we can't have this poor little darling terrorised, can we? Come now then, tell me. Where do you remember seeing your mommy last? Can you recall?'' ZsaZsa could imagine the woman's distress. Pepper hadn't yet done a runner on her, but considering the adventurous and mischievous nature of her daughter, it was only a matter of time.

SHOPKEEPER QUESTIONS
Answer these questions only if you are applying to be a shopkeeper as well.

Shop name: The Peridot Lounge
Shop Description (200 words minimum): The Peridot Lounge is a cabaret which hosts nightly entertainment - burlesque shows, Paris-style showgirls, jazz bands, or nostalgia music acts from the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s. It's bar serves all manner of alcohol but specialises in spirits and cocktails, and its small kitchen serves a small but delicious selection of canapes and amuse-gueules. The rest of the downstais space, apart from the stage, is dotted with small tables (some of which are cleared from the centre when music acts are on to allow for a small dance floor). Once a week, during the day, it hosts a private auction (on invitation only). Upstairs is a large private apartment and a second, smaller one where patrons can be entertained and lured into buying some black market *cough* dark artifacts... But you've not heard it from me...

What purpose will this shop serve other than selling things and being the home of your character? Why would people want to RP there just for fun?
The Peridot Lounge is not just a licensed premise where one can have a good drink; it's a prime entertainment venue and a great place for those looking for a sultry night out or a date to remember. It strives to offer quite an unforgettable experience and it's regular patrons are treated like royalty! It's also the perfect place to engage in illicit purchases... We'll be discreet and assume it's all for the greater good of your 'private collection'.

Hello, and thank you for your application! I just wanted to clarify that the Peridot Lounge needs to adhere to the site rating being PG13. Burlesque shows would not be permitted. There can certainly be showgirls doing dance routines as long as costumes cover everything as per the site rating. Everything else in the description looks great!

If you could repost the shop request description below removing the burlesque shows as part of the Lounge's entertainment lineup, that would be great!

Please let me know if you have any questions! :)

Ah, yes! I hadn't actually thought of that! That's absolutely fine and I shall make sure showgirls wear costumes that completely, ehm, preserves their decency ;)

I don't seem to be able to edit my previous post but I'm quite happy for it to be taken out! :)
