Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.
Name: Theodore Razi

Birthday: August 1926

Hometown:

Bloodline:
Pureblood

Magical Strength (pick one):
Summoning/Conjuring

Magical Weakness (pick one):
Divination

Year (pick two): 5th or 6th (he’s an adoptable,  so I would like to avoid changing his age, BUT I would totally volunteer for Theo to have ‘failed’ fifth and be required to repeat the grade! It’d give me more time to play with the character too.)

Biography:

Nitwits, all of them.

People were so fragile. Tears would shed at the smallest twist of skin and he could almost feel the crushing sadness when he formed a good insult. To be honest, he didn’t even have to put much effort into the verbal abuse to get a good reaction. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that his targets were younger than him…

Nope. People were just fragile, and he knew it.

Theodore leaned against the rough stone wall of a shop, arms crossed indignantly, watching as children played on the street across from him. The little grubbers were filthy and he couldn’t help but note that most of them wore the neat little Ms and Hs on their lapels. His shirt was free of such flair, thankfully. To think, he’d felt bothered that some of the neighboring children had received something he wasn’t allowed to own first. That feeling lingered only until it was explained to him that such marks were meant to cleanly denote the lessers from their superiors.

Still, would it have killed the government to make a bold badge declaring P, for pureblood? Better yet, something in gold. No.

He scanned the mess of hooligans for his wafe of a brother. He wasn’t trying especially hard to locate Oliver, but he had a task for the boy, so he gave a modicum of attention to the effort. Theo supposed he could accomplish the chore on his own, but a little kid would be far less likely to get caught… Theodore was almost sixteen now, and couldn’t quite pull off innocent child any longer. Then again, he was almost sixteen now… stronger, more conniving; he could certainly hone his skills at forcing others to do his work for him.

Take a page out of his father’s book.

Theodore wrinkled his nose at that brilliant plan which so annoyingly forced its way into his mind. The idea that he had to please someone, anyone, had always made his skin crawl. Yet drawing a balance between impressing people and using them was often the name of the game, his father’s game anyway, and he had nothing against his father. Although a bit more Pureblood prestige might have been fun to work with…

Of his siblings, Theo was the second oldest male, behind two sisters. Being the second oldest male and the fourth child in a series of kids should have meant fewer responsibilities, fewer expectations and greater room to flourish and enjoy life. Only, his oldest sibling was a bit of a braggart. Thomas seemed intrigued by the idea of their family’s position in the world, that gray area of position, importance and skill. Thomas would likely take over the family business, which left Theodore in an odd position of uncertainty.

Could Theo relish in the freedom of blazing his own trail and making his own rules and pleasing no one but himself, or was he expected to be a mere second to his brother, following rules and supporting his elder without promise of glory?

Again, he had little against his brother. Theo admired his brother, wanted to please him, but Theodore never relished in the idea of being a second fiddle to anyone; not many opportunities for praise in being an inferior.

Even the little brat, Oliver, seemed to get extra attention, despite his age. Oli was the most inferior to them all. The little one, the youngest son, the baby. Well, Theodore could at least better his position and find a way to stick out, in the eyes of his father and his other siblings by showing that he could rule over his youngers. For the time being, that would have to do.

Besides, Oliver needed to make up for his silly escapades over the previous school year. Something had gotten into the boy’s head about making sense of each house and he’d gone to ridiculous lengths to understand each one. Theodore thought such actions were tantamount to betrayal. Close enough anyway. Seriously, wearing a Hufflepuff tie was going too far… was the boy going to start wearing a halfblood, or worse yet, a muggleborn badge next? He’d better not!

He spotted a whelp practically bleating after falling on the cobblestones. That one wore the M. Theo’s face contorted into a sneer. To think, his plans might have to include them one day…

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request: Slytherin! This bad-boy-adoptable comes with an expectation.

Personality: Theodore thinks the world of himself and believes that it should bend to his every whim. He’s brash and bold, if a bit dimwitted and childish when it comes to disappointment. He can be foolhardy around the girls but isn’t much of a friend to those younger than him or below his station as a Pureblood.

Appearance: Brown hair and faded hazel-blue eyes fight for attention against his freckled, pouty face.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.
Please reply to one of the Sample Roleplays below.

He had been casually leaning against the wall of the corridor watching as students walked by.

He wanted the right one, likely a Hufflepuff, probably a halfblood - muggleborns tended to have their nickers all twisted up. Points if the younger student seemed upset for some reason... Sure he had a class to get to, but it wasn’t going anywhere, unless the professor brilliantly changed up the curriculum a bit. God knew it needed some life blown into it!

Maybe a redhead…

Only the corridor was becoming ever so silent with nary a person rushing down the hall; stupid classes always getting in the way of his projects. Theo decided to give up, letting his leg slide back down the wall from where it had been propped, when he heard the voice.

It was quite crisp and lovely, especially as it bounced off the walls.

In fact, he hardly blinked when she announced the connection with the school paper. Theodore wasn’t one to pass up on the opportunity to be heard and if it got him close to that golden hair… well, class as well as his extracurricular project could wait.

He blinked at her question, as it distracted him from the blues of her eyes. The vision of bumpy green toads fought for attention in his mind.

Not a good way to meet a girl, with visions of frog legs dancing in one’s head. “Frog legs, huh?” He started, trying to gather his thoughts.

“Well, I know for a fact it is a delicacy,” he didn’t.

“That some do not give certain worldly cuisines a chance, simply shows that they are closed minded.” He had no idea what he was saying, but it sounded good.

“Now, tell me… have you tried them yet? And if not, would you care to join me in requesting them at dinner?” Hopefully frog legs didn’t taste like old socks, because he wasn’t certain he could keep a straight face if they did.
