(ooc note: goddamn I'm a bit dumb aren't I. Here is the rp in response to option one, and just to clarify when I put Intern in the Occupation section I meant like junior healer. Thanks!)

Leo had apparated to Diagon Alley from St Mungo's to get some food. For all of magic's ludicracy, it was pretty useful and when given a choice between struggling through the London Subway and just materialising there within seconds, he'd take the second option every day.

Lunchtime meant that people from all sorts of jobs had had the same thought that he had, and so the streets were even more busy than usual. He shouldered his way past a couple with interlinked hands and ducked around a stressed looking man with greying hair and ink smudged fingers. Every second he wasted trying to get past all these people was a second of his lunch break lost.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!”

The sound of someone shouting for help over the general hum of Diagon Alley was one Leo could do without. Quite frankly, he couldn't care less that the woman's heel was broken, not when he was hungry and he had to get back to work soon. He pushed on past a laughing little girl and her mother, doing his best to ignore the voice. It wasn't hard.

"Hey!"

Leo hadn't expected her to be so nearby. In his hurry to grab a bite to eat he almost fell over her, stopping at the last second.

"Move," Leo sighed. "You're going to get crushed."

Clara Darcy(Lydia's cousin)

Biography: (300 words minimum.)
Everyone knows that the Darcys are somewhat backwards in their views on, well anything. They're old money, old blood, the sort of family you can trace back for centuries. Within the Darcy family, women are seen as little more than bearers of children, pretty faces and someone to keep the staff in order. Lydia was taught that from a young age, her parents made it clear that her older brother Alistair Darcy was their favourite, seeing Lydia as little more than a political pawn to unite two pureblooded families together one day.

To a little girl, that's not easy. But Lydia didn't know this wasn't how children were supposed to be raised and so for the first eleven years of her life she remained oblivious to the faults of her parents. She was a good little girl, even if she was never quite enough, and she tried her best to do what her parents wanted. She learnt the piano(something she actually was very talented at), she did her embroidery and she spent hours on end perfecting her posture, her manners, all the things that her parents valued in a woman.

Then came Hogwarts and to Lydia it was as if she had stepped into heaven. Suddenly it was okay if she wasn't the perfect lady, suddenly people actually wanted her to learn, to compete. Lydia came out of the shell she'd practically been born in and by the end of the first year she was a boisterous and fun loving girl with a mischievous streak a mile wide. Of course every summer she'd retreat back into her shell though.

Over the years, Lydia made many a friend. She'd grown up with blood purist views and so at first she'd stayed away from the muggleborns, but Lydia was a naïve young girl easily swayed by other's opinions and soon she had warmed up to them. She joined the ravenclaw quidditch team and while she wasn't much good, she made up for it in enthusiasm and creative tactics. She realised that she was actually quite smart and actually really good with spells. Things were looking up for her.

But as the summers went on, it became harder and harder for Lydia to retreat back into her shell of a perfect lady and in the summer of her fifth year, it became too much for her parents. Lydia was no longer the perfect lady they had raised, she was scrappy, she talked back, was always thirsting to learn more and stood up for what she believed in. That summer they pulled Lydia out of Hogwarts and for her final two years, she was home schooled. She never got to say goodbye to her friends, never got to even tell them she wasn't coming back.

In those two years, Lydia's parents did their very best to stamp out this new Lydia, with tactics ranging from no food to screaming at her to even the occasional lash out with their wands. By the time Lyds was 18, she was barely Lydia. Her spunk, her heart, her fire, her plans on becoming an auror- all but gone.

Now, Lydia is well and truly back in her shell, quiet and demure. But deep within she's still Lydia, still the girl who could talk your ear off about space, or transfiguration, or different musicians(Liszt can burn in hell). Very very deep down. She's just scared, she just believes that her temporary taste of what it was really like to live was all fake, that all she is a bearer of children, a pretty face.

Option Two -
The snow had been falling steadily all morning and it didn't look like it was going to stop any time soon. Joshua Campbell scrunched his face up in a frown as he lifted his gaze to look to the sky. Snow. It really was quite a bother.

And it certainly didn't make it better that Diagon Alley seemed to be getting more and more crowded. Joshua sighed and pointed his wand at the large box that was currently placed on the doorstep of his shop. He had to get going. He had an order to deliver.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" The elderly man muttered and watched the box hover in the air for a moment. Honestly, did St. Mungo's really need that much tinsel? And with glitter of all things? He sighed again. If it hadn't been for the rather convincing stamp on the order, he would have been likely to believe it had been a prank by one of those orphaned rascals living up there.

Oh well, there was no point in waiting. Joshua deftly stirred the box down the doorstep and out onto the street, carefully levitating it above the heads of the crowd.

"Coming through! Coming through!" His voice sounded over the chatter of the crowd. "Keep out! Move ahead! Go on!" This was going way too slow. People were in the way and walking like they had all day! He huffed. Luckily the road was down hill.

"Coming through! Coming th--- arrrgh!" Joshua let out a loud shout as his feet suddenly slipped in the snow and sent him, the box, and several long strands of tinsel tumbling into the person who had been walking in front of him.

"For Merlin's sake!" Joshua muttered angrily as he hurried to his feet again, red and gold tinsel now decorating his black coat. "I am so sorry! This blasted snow!" He looked apologetic at the person he had crashed into.

Roleplay Response:
Lydia felt trapped. Surrounded on all sides by people, so many people, she wanted to reach into her coat pocket and wrap her fingers around her wand, to protect herself. It was too much. She glanced to the man walking beside her, tall and forboding, but good and strong and unwavering. Father. He would protect her, he would stop the onslaught of people.

He was talking of the son of a man he worked with, who he'd set up a meeting with for Lydia. That was good, mother and father were always talking of how Lydia still remained without a fiance or a husband. She was twenty two, they said, they needed her to get a husband and further the Darcy's scope of influence. It was her duty.

And so Lydia nodded, and Lydia smiled. A good daughter she was, even if she'd had a bit of a lapse back when she'd started Hogwarts. That had been a mistake though, simply her being ungrateful of the care and affection she received from her parents. It wouldn't happen again, even if deep down Lydia missed the freedom that she'd had back at the school.

A shout of 'Coming through!' came from behind and Lydia glanced over her shoulder to find the source. But before she could do as the man had asked, he'd slipped on the icy pavement, bowling straight into Lydia and sending her flying to land on the floor with a thump, a little yelp torn from her lips.

Lydia winced, the jolt that shuddered through her body upon contact with the ground making her ache. That would leave a bruise. She barely noticed as the man who'd crashed into her jumped up, apologising earnestly. Lydia barely noticed anything, she was in a bit of a daze.

But what Lydia did notice was the iron grip on her bicep that wrenched her back onto her feet, the hiss of annoyance Lydia's father uttered.

"Come on," he gritted out, shooting a deadly glare towards the other man. And so Lydia was ushered away, cheeks pinking. Now she'd gone and made father mad. She cast one last glance at the man as the pair took their leave, a final apology in the look she wore.

Hi! If you are interested in claiming a character listed below, or connecting a family tree of yours to this one then please PM Clara Darcy. This is on a first come, first serve basis so I'm super sorry if the character you want is unavailable.

About the Darcys

Pureblooded and proud, the Darcys are an old family, able to trace their ancestors all the way back to the 16th century. They've had a firm foot in the door of the ministry for as long as people can remember, and connections in just about every other field to boot.

Over time they have garnered more money than anyone could possibly need, rumoured (and in some cases quite rightly) to be earnt from some unsavoury activities. Nevertheless, charming confidence, power and a natural affinity to lying has kept them out of any real trouble.

It is common knowledge that the Darcys are tradionalist in their views, with backward ideas like that muggleborns are akin to dirt common amongst their ranks, and their views on women are no different. Expected to bear children, look pretty, marry who their parents say and support their husbands no matter what, they are generally married off quite early.

Disownment is not often done, it being seen as a stain on the family's more or less pristine reputation (though some would say it has been tainted with tales of cruelty and prejudice- all of which are true). But there are a few things that can guarantee disownment, ranging from marrying a muggleborn (absolutely not), to running away, to getting pregnant before marriage. Those sorted into Gryffindor are on thin ice.

Darcys and those closely related to them are recognisable by blonde locks.

Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name: Clara Artemis Darcy

Birthday:23rd July, 1945

Hometown:Cornwall

Bloodline:
Pureblood

Magical Strength (pick one):
Charms

Magical Weakness (pick one):
Divination

Year (pick two):1st ideally, 2nd if you must

Biography:
Clara was born on the 23rd of July to Marilyn Darcy and Alfred Darcy. Looking back, it shouldn't have been a surprise that she entered the world 2 weeks earlier than expected and came out kicking and screaming. They should've taken this as a warning that Clara would not be easy to raise. Of course, they didn't.

Clara grew up in the Darcy manor in near St Ives, Cornwall. The youngest of four, she had to scream to be heard, and scream she did. After a week of next to no sleep from a baby who wouldn't shut up, Clara was handing to the nanny to be looked after.

Growing up, Clara was quite a girly girl. She loved to dress up pretty and to play princesses and tea parties. Of course, her playing princess was really her sitting with her doll advisors and discussing what to do to keep the kingdom safe from attacks and her tea parties often included assassinations, but whatever.

As a pureblood little girl, Clara's parents gave her the proper pureblood education, teaching her embroidery, horse riding, ballet and how to play the piano. They did their best to turn Clara into a sophisticated young lady and while Clara became mostly that, in their bid to teach her of how as a pureblood she was automatically better than most, they ended up installing a need within her to constantly be the best.

Clara and her mother frequently butted heads because of this. While Marilyn Darcy was definitely an elitist, she was also backwards in her opinions of women, and in particular women in the workforce. When Clara announced she planned on becoming Minister of Magic, she freaked. A tough love, harsh woman, Marilyn responded in the only way she knew how, yelling at her 6 or so year old daughter and locking her in her room. Their relationship has only worsened over time.

Luckily Clara and her father have a better relationship. Usually off at work, Alfred Darcy has remained mostly sheltered from Clara's more forward thinking views, and Clara has him wrapped around her little finger. All he ever gets to see is his little baby girl learning to play the piano or asking him to read to her. He remains completely oblivious to the hours she spends playing minister of magic princesses.

Upon arriving at Hogwarts, Clara was quick to stand out from the other students. Always working hard and always getting top grades, she had no intention of losing ever and made that very clear. Unfortunately, she also found herself in detention a fair bit for speaking back to professors and has been labelled head strong and stubborn.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request: Slytherin

Personality:
A plucky, feisty and fiery girl, Clara's not the sort of person willing to lay down and let people walk all over her. She's quite charismatic and loves to be the centre of attention, there is no place Clara feels more at home than at the centre of a crowd. A natural leader, people tend to listen to what Clara says, which is good because this bossy little drama queen would slap them if they didn't do as they were told. Not being in control scares the living daylights out of her.

Clara's got a plan for everything, she's the sort of person who doesn't like to label her plans by letters cos that suggests she's only got 26 plans. Not all of these plans are allowed if you follow the Hogwarts rulebook, but luckily Clara doesn't. Anything to win you know? Winning is what Clara values most after all.

Clara puts a lot of effort into her school work, intent on being the best, but that doesn't mean she can't have a good time. She's got a witty and dry sense of humour and does enjoy a good adventure. Clara can't help but be naturally curious and at times can be nosy because of it. Still, she's generally very responsible.

What you really don't wanna do is anger Clara. They say hell hath no fury like a woman scorned? Well Clara's gone ahead and beaten them all. She's bloody terrifying when she's angry and can hold a grudge for millennias. She's got no patience for narcissists, lazy or just plain rude people and won't hesitate to call you out on your bs.

Appearance:
With pale skin and just as pale golden hair, Clara's difficult to miss in a crowd. She's got a delicate build and a delicate face shape that contrasts sharply with the sense of strength and firmness she gives off. Pale grey eyes fringed with dark eyelashes give her a doe like appearance, but don't let that fool you. She walks with the poise and posture common amongst purebloods and keeps her uniform completely perfect, tie neat and shoes shiny.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.
You come across one of these posts on the site. Please select one & reply as your character. Remember, you can only roleplay your own character's actions, not Evangeline's or Hugh's.

Option I:

The dungeons. A place eleven-year-old Evangeline had not yet travelled since her arrival at Hogwarts.

A place she really was just fine with not knowing; but it was too late. The dare had been accepted, even if it had been done in fear of being kicked out of Gryffindor, like the older girls had said she would because Gryffindors were supposed to be brave.

The air changed instantly when she hit the main corridor of the dungeons. The dampness was almost too much for her and she instinctively took a deep breath to avoid the sensation of being suffocated. There was also a sour burning smell which Evangeline assumed was from many, many Potions lessons.

Further and further she walked, her steps so slow and gentle they made no noise against the stone walls and floor. The feeling that she wasn't alone crept up her spine and raised the tiny hair on the back of her neck. Shivering, Evangeline wrapped her arms around herself. Suddenly, she missed the warmth and comfort of the Gryffindor common room. The fire was always going and it made her feel at ease.

Why had she let those girls talk her into this? She was only eleven, she didn't have to be brave. Surely the Headmistress would not kick her out of Hogwarts for not being brave.

If only she had these thoughts while being dared to search for the ghost of one Emma Birch, whom supposedly haunted the dungeons. It was not, Evangeline had learned, the place where the sixteen-year-old girl's life had ended but as she had been from the house with a snake as its mascot, it was the place her spirit had returned to. That common room was down here somewhere, she'd been told.

Something - the small blonde girl wasn't quite sure what - but something made her stop in her tracks suddenly. There was a low, dull thumping noise. Or maybe that was her heart beating so loudly she thought it was coming from outside her body.

"H-h-hello?" Her voice was barely above a whisper.

Remembering that she was supposed to be brave, Evangeline tried again.

"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"

The sound of her own words bouncing back at her off the walls made her jump.

After a morning spent holed up in the peace and quiet of the slytherin girls' dorm, practicing her wand work and adding finishing touches to homework, Clara wanted nothing more than to go outside and breath in some fresh air that didn't stink of rose perfume and old beauty products.

And so Clara pushed the pile of parchment balanced precariously upon her bed to the side, stretched, and hopped up. The stone floor was cold to her feet, prompting a small grumble to escape from Clara's lips, but after pulling on a pair of socks and shoes, that was no longer an issue.

Clara tucked her wand into her pocket and made her way down stairs of the same heat sucking stone, dragging one hand's fingers against the wall absentmindedly as she did so. The common room was warmer than upstairs, filled with the gentle murmur of students clad in green and silver, a lit fireplace crackling. Clara returned the occasional smile, wave or call with ones of her own, but didn't stop.

She left the common room, finding herself in a corridor lit dimly by candle light. To another, it might have been a sinister sight. To her, it was just the corridor where the slytherin house entrance was, the novelty of the windowless stone having lost its interest in her first year.

Clara had been about to turn left, taking the fastest route up to the entrance hall and by extension the grounds, when she heard a faint thumping sound. Curiosity getting the better of her, she couldn't help but follow the noise, drawing her wand as she did so. That was odd.

She hadn't gone far before there came a voice as well.

"H h hello? Hello! Is Emma Birch there?"

Clara rounded a corner to reveal a small blonde girl wearing red and gold. A Gryffindor. What was she doing here? The gryffindors tended to avoid the dungeons like the plague. Actually, everyone did, bar the slytherins of course.

"Sorry no," Clara said with a faint frown, eying the girl with thinly veiled confusion. "Is she a slytherin? She might be in the common room."

The thumping noise seemed to have silenced itself, if only for a few seconds, but now it started up once more. Clara spun around, wand raised.

"What is that?"
