Avery was born in France, although his family moved to Britain once Avery turned six years old. Avery's mom wanted him to attend Hogwarts, seeing as she seemed to think Hogwarts provided the best magical education around - and his father knew better than to challenge his wife on such things, so they packed up and moved.

Avery is a single child, and as a result of that, is mostly used to receiving whatever he wants. He's not spoilt, persay, still sensitive to the needs and wants of his loved ones, but he does tend to do whatever is necessary to get his way, wherever possible. Avery also tends to feel lonely a lot, whether he's aware of that or not.

Avery's father delves in a private business of distributing and regulating forms of magical transport, be it bewitched cars and other muggle transportation devices, private floo systems, et cetera. Business is good, especially in France, where the magical folk there are currently finding an increased interest in flying cars and the like. The nature of his business requires the Lefevre family to socialise frequently with other people working in the industry, and as a result, Avery grew up in an environment that taught him to be well-versed in personal grooming, table manners, and how to engage in polite conversation. Avery's mother used to work in the Ministry, but retired early since Avery's father's business was doing well enough to support them. She hated the repetitive work, anyway, so she spends her time being lazy and enjoying life.

Avery first showed signs of magical ability at age 7, where he strangled the tabby cat that belonged to his aunt. It was a tragic accident that Avery would later grow up to find hilarious. (He was never much of a cat person.)

Avery wasn't particularly excited or dismayed by the prospect of attending a school, instead taking in the reality with a sort of detached air. He did look forward to making friends, though, not having been able to make any lasting friends in Britain, and leaving all his close childhood friends back in France.

Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request:
Slytherin

Personality:

Avery is a relatively calm sort of person, quiet and detached from his surroundings, although he's often observing things that happen around him, without directly partaking in the proceedings. He's also very blunt (and rude, more often than not) when it comes to communicating with people, more likely to say what he feels and offend someone, than hold back and let it be.

Avery is viciously affectionate to people who mean a lot to him, sometimes to the point of smothering his friends. He may also resort to sweet-talking and other subtler forms of manipulation to get what he wants, believing in using words rather than actions to cajole people into doing things a certain way, wherever possible.

Avery can be incredibly vain, especially for a boy. Bed head is the bane of his existence, and so are hang nails and acne.

Avery is easily-bored (or difficult to excite), often searching for ways to distract himself if left alone for too long. Too bad most of these distractions involve doing stupid things and getting hurt.

Avery hates his vaguely-female-sounding name. Avery likes swimming, quidditch, chinese food, and girls.

Appearance:

Avery is super tall for his age, at least a full head taller than the average student. He has brown eyes and brown hair, with a scar across his hip from where he'd once attempted to climb the quidditch stands, from the outside, and fell off. He's pale but for a smattering of freckles across his nose, and his lips are perpetually downturned.

(Response to Option 1:)

Avery stopped in his tracks, just as the Quidditch player turned around and yelled into his face. Pff. Avery had come out here to chase the boy down to make him feel better, not to get yelled at publicly. Avery's features rearranged themselves into a displeased scowl. That was terribly uncouth of the boy.

"Rude," he scoffed, shaking his head slightly as if the motion could shake off the vestiges of the boy's outburst from Avery's face. "Anyway, here. Even losers need to eat." Avery stepped forward, closing the distance between himself and the boy, and shoved the chicken drumstick he'd grabbed from the table and wrapped in a napkin into the boy's hand.

"Anyway, Quidditch is Quidditch," Avery continued, waving a hand dismissively and sounding as if he were talking about something mundane, like Potions, or the weather. "It was a terrible loss, yeah... And you were terrible in the air, I agree - but give it one or two weeks, and no one will remember anymore. On the bright side, your loss has nothing on the Crowleys' scandal. Can you imagine? They walked in on the youngest son writing anonymous hate letters to the professors. It's tragic, really."

Avery finished his tirade and crossed his arms back over his chest, tapping a foot quietly against the stone floor and staring at the boy. "So? You feeling better? I'm right, aren't I? I'm Avery, by the way."
