CHARACTER INFORMATION
Character name: Bailey James McCormick

Previous and/or Current Character(s) if applicable: Zo & Co

Character age: Thirty-one

Character education: Hogwarts -- Slytherin; 1938
Ministry training -- Auror ; specializing in Hit Wizard
Currently on a hiatus from the department

Strength and weaknesses: Though if asked, Bailey would never boast about having many strengths, but those who truly know him would earnestly disagree. He is as a fiercely loyal, brave, and bold as they come. Once his walls are taken down, and a friendship is made, it is until his last dying breath. Entirely overprotective over those he cares deeply for, it's wholly in his nature to watch over those who cannot defend themselves. Very efficient in his career presently, he enjoys creating a plan and following through, finding contentment within a mission.

In that same breath, the way he cares for others could be viewed as a weakness. At times it could cloud his judgement, choosing a different course of action than he would take with a clearer mind.

Physical description: Bailey stands tall at 6'1 with an athletic build, stemming from his years of morning jogs and rigorous training with the Ministry. Dark brown paired with dark hues seemingly compliments his tanned complexion and sharp facial structure. A somewhat recent scar can be found running from behind his left ear all the way to his collarbone. On the outside of his left wrist would be found three dates in small typewriter print:  07-4-1950, 10-9-1951, and 30-5-1952, symbolizing the dates his four children were born. Under his silver wedding band, a small s can be found on his ring finger, palm up

Personality:
Even though the second oldest McCormick appears to be cold and distant to strangers, he is actually a very friendly person once one scratches the icy surface. He tends to hold new comers at an arm’s length, his defense always on high alert due to his many years as an Auror. He has a tendency to be cautious, trying to analyze every person’s intentions in order to know how to approach the situation efficiently. He isn’t one to dance around subjects, nor does he enjoy sugarcoating things, but will do so depending on the sensitivity of the person.

At times, he can be incredibly stubborn, rightfully so. He believes everything happens for a reason, and it isn’t his place to place to question, something his mum taught the boys at a young age. Far too thorough than most, it wouldn’t be that far of a stretch to call Bailey somewhat of a perfectionist. When he makes a plan, he expects it to go as expected and become irritable if that isn’t the case. He will strive to make it work in any way possible, though.

Hopes and dreams. Why are you teaching at Hogwarts?: First and foremost, his wife has been pressuring him to find a safer, more friendly job than his current position as a Hit Wizard. Whilst he feels that’s the only career he’s good at, Serena had reminded him of how much he enjoyed teaching the combat skills in 1944, when he had volunteered alongside his brother in Merlin’s Order of Defense. It was there that he had initially met Serena, never guessing she would one day become his wife.

Biography: Bailey’s childhood had been incredibly, vastly normal. In a home of four boys, there was not a singular dull moment he could think of. Rambunctious as most boys tend to be, he couldn’t remember a time where they ever sat still, except for meals of course. Playing quidditch in the yard and rough housing were his earliest memories of all four boys being of age to play with one another. Life was carefree, and easy, and it only got better as they began at Hogwarts.

Bailey and Joseph were both sorted in Slytherin, where he excelled in quidditch and dueling.  His other two brothers, Finlay and Louis, were sorted in Ravenclaw respectively. They had lived rather average lives during their teen years, just as any other hormonal boy would. At least, until the War had begun. Perhaps it was because of their muggleborn status, or perhaps it was because he wanted to do something greater with life, something Bailey had yet to understand. But the eldest son, Finn, had enlisted in the muggle’s army, and not too long after, Joseph had followed suite.

That had been one of the hardest years of their lives. Parents had disappeared, due to the time warp that plagued the wizarding community, leaving the boys orphaned. Only Louis had been underage, so he had stayed with an uncle for his final year. But not too long after, Joseph had been killed in the War, prompting Finn’s return home, and his entrance into the Merlin’s Order of Defense.

Still, life had to move on, and so did Bailey, throwing himself into work and achieving his Hit Wizard status in no time. Unfortunately, the obstacles were not finished coming forth.

In the summer of ’47, a battle had broken out at a local bar between the Resistance and Hexenreich. It was there Finn had another stroke of bad luck. Due to a mishap with a curse, the eldest son had lost all of his memories, and Bailey had to start completely by scratch. It took a year and a half before things started to come back to him, but never fully restoring.

All the while he had tried to keep a private life thriving, having gotten back into contact with Serena Rose after a year or two of not speaking for whatever reason they had chalked it up to.  It had been a whirlwind of a relationship, full of bumps and burns, but they had come out on top. In 1949, they had gotten married, and he had sealed it with a new house just for her.  In 1950, their first daughter, Lily, had been born, and bringing a permanent light into their life, giving him a sense of fulfillment he had never thought he needed. The summer of1951 brought another daughter by the name of Scarlet, another holy experience.

But not too long after their daughter's birth, brought a whole other kind of experience he hopes to never have to witness again, or go through. The pain was far too much for him to bear and it nearly killed him – and their marriage.  But the birth of premature twin boys in 1952, Finn and Thomas, revived them to this moment.

It was the largest office in Hogwarts and, perhaps to students and newcomers, the most intimidating. The shelves were filled with various odds and ends, with a place of honor for the Sorting Hat, and the walls held all the portraits of past Headmasters and Headmistresses.

In the middle of the room sat a large desk. Everything was in order, for the current occupant had always despised a messy desk. It was the sign of a messy mind, and she had always favored neatness.

A clock sat on the desk, which currently showed the time to be 2:05. The meeting was supposed to begin at 2:00 precisely.

Along with order, Anneka valued punctuality. She was a very busy woman these days. Even during the summer, she had a number of matters to attend to. Interviewing and hiring staff was only of those matters. The newest potential member of her staff wasn't making a good impression.

She paced the room, black heels clicking against the stone floor. When the door finally opened, Anneka turned, her expression reminiscent of a Russian winter. "You are late."

Explain yourself was what her face said.

Roleplay Response:

Serena had gone to her own interview, leaving him with the children in a chaotic mess. He loved his children dearly, more than anything in the world, but he needed a break. With now four little ones, it didn't leave much room for he and his wife to have any time to themselves, but since he had taken a hiatus from the Ministry, it was beginning to be a little easier. It wasn't just up to Serena anymore while he was at work, no, now he was at home helping -- exactly where he wanted to be.

Four children also meant it took longer to get ready, for everyone. Lily was getting to the age where she wanted to help, but Scar was ready to just tear the place apart. And for the most part, the twins were content in their high chairs as Bailey ran around getting everything in order for his wife when she arrived.

With a quick peck and rushed words, he disappeared into the sun.

"Darn staircase," he grumbled as he bounded off the steps in the direction of his destination. He always got caught on that thing, just like the good old days of school. There was no change, except the few feet he grew and the context of his visit. He skidded to an abrupt halt, nearly falling over but caught him by grasping the frame. A swift knock the door, and a twist of the knob, Bailey could feel the icy coldness radiating from the woman.

"You are late."

"I apologize, Headmistress," he said exasperated, internally wincing at the scolding.

No, nothing had changed.

Bailey walked further into the room, trying to slow his breathing, attempting to not make it so crystal clear he had ran the entire way to her office. He didn't want this to sway her decision on the position for him, or for his wife. The last thing he wanted to do was make Serena look bad because he had been late. She wouldn't forgive him, nor could he blame her really. He knew better.

"It's a pleasure to see you again," he outstretched his arm and made an attempt at a warm smile, which honestly, probably looked ridiculous on his face.

Biography: (300 words minimum.)
”Thank you for coming in, Mr. McCormick. I see you have applied for a promotion, is that correct?”

“Well, I reckon so,”

”Tell me about yourself.”

“Not much to tell, love.”

”Why don’t you try.”

“Hmm, well, I suppose it started on January 6th, 1921. Mum had me in the bath tub. Ya see, I came too early;  her  and me da weren’t prepared.  Finlay, my older brother, always likes to tell me how ugly I was when I came out of her—err, how I came into this bloody world. He was always a jokester growing up, but the War changed him….”

”Changed him?”

“Yeah, changed him. We talkin’ ‘bout me, or my brother, miss?”

”Continue, Mr. McCormick.”

“Two years after I was born came little Joseph. Took ‘im a bit to show his magic. We almost thought didn’t have any but when Louis came in….1925, I fink,  the jealousy was fierce,” laughs. “Little Louie kept ‘losing’ his dummy. Finking ‘bout it now, it was a bit cruel of Joey but he was too young to know right from wrong.”

”Is Joseph your brother that died during the War?

“Yes, he’s deceased.”

”Let’s move on to your school career.”

“Uh, it was like every other teenager’s.  Slytherin was my house, same as Joey’s.  Finn and Louie were sorted in Ravenclaw. Never made sense to me, considering I’ve always been smarter than Finn. I played Quidditch, Chaser to be exact, but I really excelled in Dueling. Big shocker there, huh?” laughs.

”What did you do after school was finished?”

“I did my internship and schooling at the Ministry. Didn’t take me long to reach Hit Wizard status. The only fing I’ve ever really been good at.”

”Thank you, Bailey. We shall get back to you immediately.”

“Alright, love. Busy later?”

Option One -
Amelia Nixon was many things, but she was never a pushover reporter that people could just usher away with a busy shuffle past. She was dedicated and eager to cut to the very middle of the current political tensions because she was Amelia Nixon and her articles would most certainly become front page material.

“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“

Another one brushed passed her, the shuffling busy masses making their way through Diagon Alley for the lunchtime rush. This had been the best possible time to get people, but none of them were giving her anything to go with.

Only momentarily discouraged, the short red headed lady took a seat on a nearby bench. Her quill resting in her left hand and her notepad ready in the opposite hand. Amelia pouted, tapping the quill against her leg as she scanned the waves of people for somebody - anybody - who looked like they had something to say.

She had been dreaming of her name in bold print, Amelia Nixon: The Source of Today’s Tomorrow. She had been dreaming of the larger office and the secretaries that would fetch her the morning coffee and fetch her anything she needed. The VIP interviews and the most exclusive press passes. But all Amelia had was a page seventeen piece on the rising number of frogs in London.

Hardened by a day of no success, the reporter stood up and started to trod off down the alley. A loose stone on the cobble path caught her heel, sending the distraught girl toppling down to the ground.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!” she yelled as she tried desperately to recover her shoe frantically in the middle of the Diagon Alley moving crowds.

Roleplay Response:
The day was like any other. After a long day's hard work, dinner was a long awaited prize. With the Hexenreich in every lurking corner, the former Slytherin found himself on edge. With his wand up his sleeve, the man was always prepared for a duel. The extremists had no problem exposing themselves to innocent bystanders. No one was safe. How long could this possibly last, no one knew.

Lost in these vengeful thoughts, he accidentally brushed against a young girl. With a smile, he offered his apologies and continued along his way to the Grubstake. A whiskey sounded amazing, maybe some fish and chips. Honestly, anything would work. The day had been too busy for lunch, and his stomach's growling was ringing in his ears.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!”

Perking up, he turned his head looking through the crowds for the frantic voice. If no one was paying attention, the woman could be trampled to death. That would definitely weigh down his conscience, and boy, it was heavy enough already. He squeezed through the walking residents, eyes darting through the various shapes and sizes. There. The woman was on the ground, and it didn't long for him to reach her side. (after shoving a few slow patrons out of the way)

"Need help, miss?"

He offered his hand to the woman.
