Biography:
The years had been kind to Wisdom Grace Willows where life, unfortunately, had not.

Born to a proud English pureblood line, the hand that Miss Willows was dealt had all the promise in the world.  One by one, the cards she held were taken from her young hands, but she made it work; she lost her father at a young age, but found a new father figure in her private tutor; she lost her sense of normalcy when sent to Hogwarts, but found a new normal in Slytherin house; she lost her feeling of belonging when, though her own fault, she fell out of favor with many of her friends there, but forged powerful new connections in their place.

In 1907 when she graduated school, she had situated herself for a promising life in pureblood society.  Despite offers for marriage, Wisdom remained unattached, focusing instead on her own charity work and her budding business, a coffee and tea house in Magical London called Madame Willows’ Gossip Parlour.  In both areas of concentration, she flourished, despite a brief and poorly-judged venture into teaching Wizarding Etiquette at Hogwarts.  At the age of fifty, she officially retired from her management role at the Parlor, but she stayed on as owner to oversee operations and assure the highest quality in the establishment's offerings.  This enabled her to dedicate her time to her charity work--she was a staunch supporter of the war effort and has since focused her efforts on the post-war recovery effort as an active and dedicated member of the Social Reconstruction Committee--and to enjoy her golden years in decadence, since, as the last remaining member of her family line, she has no heir to leave an inheritance to and knows she can’t take it with her.

Miss Willows, who also maintains a sizable family manor in the English countryside, now resides in primarily in an apartment in Wizarding London  with her two cats, Castor and Pollux, whom she insists are the only men she needs in her life.

Roleplay: Option Two

Merlin, did she hate snow.

It, like so many things, was best observed from far away--through a high window sat in front of a warm fire, or perhaps even better from the safe divided of a gilded frame, the fall and drift of it captured in oil paint.  It really was, otherwise, quite a bother.

And yet Wisdom Willows had stepped out and into it this day.

Steadily, she strode through the street, her shoulders squared despite the blow of the snow in the wind.  The lane was crowded in defiance of the weather, the dozens on dozens of tampling feet turning white snow to dust-colored slush.  Already, the woman could see wet patches bloom across the suppel turquoise leather of her boots, despite the Charmwork sewn in to each stitch on them.

She should have worn more sensible shoes.  Usually, she would have sent Penelope to run such an errand.  Wisdom would be the first to admit she was out of practice for such a menial task.

Penelope Fluttersby, the young woman whom she had long ago hired to manage Madame Willows’ Gossip Parlour, however, had terrible taste in napkins, and with the holidays rapidly approaching, the cafe was in desperate need of a fresh seasonal selection.  Wisdom had always been a staunch believer that if one wanted something done right, if one wanted it to be done as such the first time, it was best to tend to such matters one’s self, and so it had been the blonde witch herself who had set out this day into Diagon Alley, headed towards the same table linen shop she had patronized for the last four decades.

It seemed, however, this trip was ill-fated for more reasons than just the snow.  Before she was fully aware of what was happening--she had heard the shouts, yes, but a lady never responded to a raised voice--she was part of a tangle of limbs and...was that tinsel?  How terribly tacky.

Wisdom Willows hit the ground with what could only be described as forceful grace.

“For Merlin’s sake indeed,” she hissed under her breath, her eyes narrowing as she delicately tucked a strand of hair back into place.  Her hand came away with a strand of red tinsel.  Wisdom’s jaw clenched.

But manners were manners, even in the face of poorly-selected decorations and slushy snow, and so seamlessly Wisdom slipped into a polished smile.

“No, I’m sorry,” she intoned in such a way that it sounded quite convincingly like she was.  “I must have lost my footing.”  It was his fault and she knew it--Wisdom Willows never so much as put a toe out of line without meaning to, and men were always so careless.  “My sincerest apologies.  Would you be so kind as to help a lady up?”
