Biography:
  Luna is from the forgotten tribe of North America, but after her parents, and most of the tribe, died, she was the oldest at age of seven, and had to lead the tribe to greatness until another tribe found the children and joined them, raising them in the ways of their forefathers. At the age of eleven, she was running through a field when all of it lit on fire, and she was the only thing not burning. The elders of the tribe told her that she was a witch, and that she would need to learn how to control her magic. She practiced controlling her fire, her parseltongue, and her charmspeak, slowly getting better, though it was not enough. Eventually the Chief Elder sent her to London to attend Hogwarts, as he had been there, though he was a squib. As she got there, she didn't exactly blend in with her animal skins and headbands. Arriving on the Hogwarts train, Luna wasn't exactly all smiles and sunshine about her new uniform. The robes felt odd to her, and having to take off her headband made her uncomfortable, and with everyone staring at her, she didn't feel anymore at home, but she eventually learned how to blend in. After enhancing her English, she learned that all of the children their had parents, Luna, of course, did not find this surprising, but she did realize that she never new her parents well, and wondered who was magical of them.


House Request: Gryffindor

Personality: Luna is rather smart, even just learning English, and she loves to read the Englishmen books, as she hadn't anything like that in her tribe. Though smart and cunning, she was a lot braver. She always has her bow and quiver somewhere within reach, ready to fight for the people she loves. Her greatest strength is the trust in her friends, but could that be her greatest weakness also?

Appearance: Her long dark brown hair that falls around her calves is normally in a braid, filled with bird feathers and beads. She's tall for an eleven year old, 5'4", and that, with her maturity, may be why a lot of people think she's older than she is.

Luna sighed as she toyed with the cloth in front of her. She had never seen anything like this. Her Chief had called them 'robes', and said that she must wear them, even though they look odd, but who in their right mind would want to wear something that covered their whole body? It was utterly nonsense!

After arguing with herself a bit more, she finally took off her skins and put on the robes, imminently feeling very hot with her stomach and legs covered. She moved back out into her seat, next to someone that she had never seen in her life, and didn't talk to them, even when they tried to speak to her, as she didn't want to embarrass herself with her bad language. Biting her lip, she wondered what would happen, and wondered why she was blessed by the gods in such ways. Is a fiery hand really a blessing? Can talking to snakes ever help her? She pondered on these things as the train slowly screeched to a stop, and she left it, stroking her skins in her trunk one last time before closing it.

She had thought about that too, the things in her trunk. Wand and books with odd named liquids and other things that were in her potion kit. 'Why would I need to make potions?' She wondered in English, following the Chiefs direction to practice her English as much as possible. 'What potions do to help me with hands of fire?' 

As she slowly moved onto the boat that was being controlled by a lumbering man, she looked at it in wonder. It was so much different from the canoes she had made at home with her tribe. Much bigger, and built different. With a bunch of things that did not come from the earth.  As the boat crossed the wide river and she was hustled into a great hall, she held her breath, not knowing what was to come.

Your application is coming along nicely and Luna seems very unique, I love her story! However, before we can get her accepted, some of her story needs some minor tweaking.

Ten years ago, our canon went though an event known as the Time Warp (you can read more about that here). In brief, the entire wizarding world slid back in time. What does this mean for Muggleborns? Well, their Muggle relatives in most cases didn't slide back with their magical children.

Being accepted as a first or second year means that Luna would have been no more than two when the time warp happened. While this doesn't have to change the feel of her story, it would change some of her background as anyone around her at the time of the Time Warp that wasn't magical would have "disappeared". At the age of two, it would have been difficult for her to survive on her own. The squib Chief Elder of another tribe could still fit into this story, but as a Native American, why would he have attended Hogwarts instead of the North American magical school, Salem?

Also, I noticed that you mentioned the Luna was a parselmouth. This is considered a special ability and requires that you fill out an application to have this ability. Seeing as it is close to the start of term (only 25 hours away!), I would suggest that you leave the mentioning of Luna being a parselmouth out of your application as we cannot accept your application until the special request is approved or rejected. If you are still interested in Luna having the ability, you can still submit the special request and if approved begin to use it in your roleplays.

If you could please repost you application below, adjusting your biography to reflect the Time Warp, that would be wonderful. Also, when you repost, please do not adjust the Hogwarts header at the top of the application. After you do, we'll be able to take another look at your application and get you approved!
