Biography: (300 words minimum.)
It was four-and-a-half years to the day since he had last walked through the doors of the Carrington Manor.

Italy. Greece. Spain. France. Russia. America.  You name it, he had been there.  It had been his father’s idea to travel the world after graduation.  “Live a little; gain some cultural experience.  It’ll be good for you.  When you’re done, come home.  You’re mum and I will be waiting.”

But they weren’t waiting.  They weren’t here now, and they would never be here again.

Jere sat in his father’s armchair; the one his father sat in every night when he came home from work and read The Daily Prophet.  His brother and two sisters sat on the couch opposite him; their faces reflecting the fire dancing in the fireplace.

Funny that the fire should be dancing, giving that their meeting was not a joyous occasion.

There were funerals to be planned, and affairs that needed to be set in order.

Head of the family, at age 28.  He never thought that he would have to take over the family at such a young age.

Sure, he had seen a lot of the world; but he was nowhere near finished.  There was still China, Japan, Australia; and he hadn’t even set foot on the continents of Africa or South America.  He had more sights to see, and more connections to make.

But those plans were now on hold forever.  His plans had to change, like plans often do.  He had a family to lead.

Once the funeral was planned, his first duty would be to find himself his first real job.  Hopefully his education as well as his cultural experiences could land him a job in the Ministry - or something of the sort.  All decent wizarding families had connections to the Ministry, didn’t they?

His next order of business would have to be finding a wife; a pureblood of course; anything less would exile him from the family and cut off all monetary support.  She must also be willing to bear children, and bear him a son to carry on the family name.  The Carrington name almost died out once several generations ago - and it was a very creative idea by his great-great-great-great Grandmother that kept Carrington Manor in the family and kept the family name alive.

Roleplay:
It was impossible for Dianne to stay out of trouble. It wasn't that she was looking for trouble, it's just that trouble always managed to find her. Today she wished she could find something equally familiar but more comforting.

The five-year old girl hugged her puffskein closer to her and brushed her face in its soft fur for comfort. She had named him herself and he was always her special pet. No she was certain she had never gone down this side street before. Her anxiety increased every second as darkness fell as she walked down the road. A loud noise came to her left and she buried her face in her pet's fur completely. The scared girl bolted the opposite way slamming the both of them into the wall of the nearest building. Tottering back a few steps she found a door a few feet to her right and ran to open it. What light there was inside spilled out into the darkness and she spilled into the room.

Once in, she was caught between the impulse to curl her cloak up more tightly around her and loosen her grip on it. She wasn't alone anymore but she was now among strangers instead, which was nearly as terrifying. Her puffskein had recovered from the shock of the wall and now was purring contentedly as the girl hugged it, causing a mildly calming effect on the girl. Gathering her courage, she marched up to the nearest person, pulled on the nearest clothing hem and blurted out in a loud voice:

"I'm lost and it's dark and I wanted to know where I am but I'm not scared but I am worried that Sambundeakin is scared because he's little and needs something to eat and wants to go home."

She paused to draw a breath in her nearly never-ending sentence, "He misses my and his mommy."

To explain the scared girl held up the custard-colored puffskein. Sambundeakin the puffskein, however simply purred as if nothing on earth was wrong in the world.

Roleplay Response:
Jere took a sip of wine as he patiently awaited the arrival of his beautiful blonde-haired, blue-eyed companion for the evening.  Finding a suitable mate for life was proving to be no easy feat; and he was starting to believe that all women were only after money and fame, that love had nothing to do with it.

A tug at his jacket and he quickly arose, stepping over to the other chair and pulling it out.

“How lovely to see you again, Tiffany.”  He motioned for her to take a seat.

But when he lifted his gaze to met hers for the first time, he found a girl no older than six staring back at him.

“I'm lost and it's dark and I wanted to know where I am but I'm not scared but I am worried that Sambundeakin is scared because he's little and needs something to eat and wants to go home.”

He had been lost once, separated from his parents and siblings.  It had been a frightening experience; one that still haunted his dreams today.

But she couldn’t be here.  If she was here when Tiffany arrived, his date might get the wrong idea.  He didn’t have children, and this little girl didn’t belong to him - but if Tiffany saw him now, she might believe otherwise.

“Waiter!”

When the waiter arrived, Jere slipped him a few Galleons to show the little girl to her own private table, feed her a hearty meal, and ask the other patrons if anyone had seen her parents.  He want to take care of her and her little pet, just not in the view of her date or anyone else for that matter.  Being a head of family often meant photographers lurking at every corner; he had to always look his best.

The waiter scurried to prepare a table where the waitstaff could keep an eye on her at all times.

“If you would kindly follow that gentlemen, little lady, he will see to it that you and Sam are taken good care of. In the meantime, I’ll keep watch for you mommy.”

Hopefully Tiffany wasn’t her mommy, because that would make for an interesting turn of events.
