Hey Max!

I have a few quick things to go over on you application:

1. For your magic levels - adult characters have 32 starting levels to distribute across these four categories (less levels can be used if you so desire, but no more than 32). The number of levels on the lowest ability must be at least half of the highest ability.

2. All of the posts here are written in third person, past tense (so instead of saying something like "I walk to the store" it would be "he walked to the store"). Please change your RP sample to third person, past tense.

3. You mentioned that Max can tell things about others by looking at them. Something like that may be possible depending on his divination level, but if it is above his level you would need to fill out a special request form.

And that's it! Please correct those things, post again in this thread, and we'll be happy look over it again!

Hi Zuvee!

Being able to see the future will require you to fill out an additional special ability request application. In the meantime, if you want to take that out of your application for now, we can get you started RP'ing. If the special request is approved you can add it in later.

Just as a heads up. According to our board history all muggleborn characters three years old and older are orphans due to an event called the Time Warp. More background information can be found about it here.

Please make those changes, post here when it's updated, and we'll be happy to take another look at your application! Feel free to get in contact with anyone on staff if you have questions.

Biography:

Jessica was born in Motherwell, Scotland on the 1st of April, 1960, though she recalls this date now to be the 1st of April, 1922.  She was the darling of her father and mother, Matthew and Louise Davies, and spoiled by almost everyone that knew her. The only person she knew of who was not quite enamored with her was her older brother, Daniel, and sibling rivalry became fierce between the two. Around the time Jessica was nearing school age her father received a significant promotion at the Ministry, and the Davies family relocated to London, England. Jessica was quick to assimilate to her surroundings, most notably by dropping the speech patterns of her homeland.

The Davies family had all the right relatives in regards to blood, but they also had a secret. Mrs. Davies was fond of muggles. In fact all the relatives on Jessica’s mother side were quite fine with muggles indeed. It was not until her parents were married that Mr. Davies found out about her unfortunate (his word) regard for those of unsuitable social status, and it is a family secret that he would have them all take to the grave. Jessica tries, but sometimes it’s hard. Muggles make very nice clothes too, and some very interesting books.

Growing up, Jessica always preferred spending time with her favorite person: her mother. Whether it was tea at Harrods or walking around the garden, Jessica followed her mother everywhere when she could. In December of 1970, Louise Davies passed away after a long running illness and left Jessica bereft. Jessica's generally sweet disposition disappeared, and her main goal in life became making the rest of her family feel as miserable as she did. She was too immature to realize that she was not the only one that had loved and missed Louise.

When Jessica turned eleven years old she was accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry where she was sorted into Slytherin. The next few years were a blur of classes and studies and trying not to get injured by a certain roommate with an unhealthy fondness for wayward pranks. At the end of her second year, Jessica was recruited for the house quidditch team. She has gleefully participated in the sport every year since.

How dare they.

Jessica stomped unevenly down the corridor, her dress muddy and her hair askew. Her right shoe was on her foot, the left was in her hand, and every so often her jagged gait would push her a little too far off balance after which she would stumble and huff loudly. Her cheeks and forehead had turned red from too much time in the sun without any kind of protection charm. How dare they assign her, Jessica Davies, to detention in the menagerie. She had never even taken Care of Magical Creatures and for a very good reason indeed: she did not like animals. She did not like their look. She did not like their smell. She did not like the way their beady eyes followed her as she tried to tiptoe past in her custom made heels.

So preoccupied was she with her own sorry state of affairs that Jessica didn’t notice the reporter until the older girl had nearly caught up. Jessica squeaked and waved the other girl away with her shoe.

“No photographs!” she shrieked. It was just like the paper to try and catch her looking like this. They had probably been paid. Jessica’s shoe flailed dangerously in the air, until she realized there was no camera. Her arm dropped to her side, though her scowl remained.

“What do you think about serving frog legs at lunch? Some say it’s a delicacy, but others think it’s plain gross.”

“Clearly people should not eat the legs of frogs, Astrid,” she snapped,

“They're disgusting and that's the most ridiculous question I have ever heard.”
