  RUSSIAN CATHOLIC

THE PUREST OF BLOOD

The infamous Borovsky name was first associated with witchcraft in 998 AD in the north of Russia and within magick circles they're notorious for their involvement with black magic and necromancy. They rose to power within eastern Europe with ease, their dark reputation only growing as they built up a fearsome, indomitable empire and to this day are both the most known and respected magickal family in Mother Russia.

Deep within a thick forest in Volkgorod, Russia, lies the Borovsky castle, a magnificent home that was built specifically for the family in 1066 AD. The property itself as well as the forest surrounding it is protected by hexes as well as vicious packs of large wolves which were bred and raised with their sole purpose being to protect and serve the family. Mounted wolf heads can be found throughout the castle hanging on dark oak and silver plaques as a way of honouring past wolves and their loyalty and devotion to the family.

The family are highly traditional, severely elitist and follow their own twisted version of Catholicism. They trust themselves and themselves only, only associating enough with other families to maintain ally-ships. Few outsiders are granted access to the castle and even fewer are considered friends, however those who are lucky enough to be crowned with such a fortunate title are of the most superior breed and are likely directly related to the family through an arranged marriage, such as the Volkovs, the Rurikovichs or the Romanovs.

In the 1800s the family became heavily involved with the Russian wizard Mafia and the previous family head - Sevastian Borovsky the First - ruled as the Godfather until his death in 1935. His younger brother current acts as Godfather until a formal decision can be made as to rightfully deserves the throne. Sevastian lives on as a ghost at the Borovsky castle, however his wife Reina immigrated to Great Britain in 1938 with the children of their first born son after his murder the previous year - one that her youngest son committed.

Several individual families within the ruling branch have followed due to her orders, being made to find a home in a country they despise during a war they cannot openly fight until they return home. The ghost of Sevastian rules the castle, keeping the majority of the family in check until the war ends and his wife and their children and grandchildren can and will return home.

...If they ever.

Biography:
Within the dining room of Borovsky Place, house elves set out the finest of china on a long mahogany dining table which was surrounded by 10 chairs. Different aromas of the most divine foods filled the spacious room and greeted each member of the family as they walked in.

Anastasia skipped in wearing a black dress with a white peter-pan collar and she clutched a Victorian looking book to her chest. As she sat down on one of the chairs along the side of the table, she hid it on the chair next to her so it would not be confiscated.

Once the family - Father, Mother, older sister Viktoria and twin brother Vladimir - had settled down, each of them held their tan hands together and her father read aloud a prayer and thanked the Lord for the food on their table, something that happened every morning and night without fail.

The Borovskys were a Catholic family who attended church every Sunday. Each week they attended with Grandmother Raina along with cousins Aleksandra and Luka. Anastasia and her brother also attended Sunday school after service unlike their sister Viktoria who no longer had to attend due to her age and apparent knowledge.

"Father," Stassie asked once they had finished praying, "May I ask a question?"

There was a moment of pure silence. Viktoria frowned at her sister and Vladimir had a spoon full of potato shoved half way into his mouth. In their family children were to be seen but not heard.

"If you must." He replied. If it had been either of the two other children, they would have been sent to bed, but Anastasia was his favourite. She got away with things the other two couldn't.

"What will happen to us during the war?" She asked innocently.

She was not scared at all and seemed to think herself almost immortal, as if those things that happened in the papers could not possibly happen to somebody like her.

"Nothing." He said bluntly, stabbing at his meat a little too violently, "Sit up straight and eat, Ana."

Anastasia obeyed his order and started on her vegetables which were her least favourite. They were not allowed to leave the table until their plates were clear so she made sure she got them out of the way first.

She was a curious little thing, which meant she had many more questions. She had razor straight dark brown hair and peculiar green eyes. They were almost lime-green and instantly caught your attention when looking at her. With these green eyes, she looked to the book she had brought down with her.

It was not a novel at all, but in fact a diary that somebody had kept in a previous war. It was eloquently written and included horrific details that both shocked and excited the young girl who was too young to understand that is wasn't actually a work of fiction.

"Will we die?" She suddenly asked, regretting the words instantly as they escaped from her lips.

Another silence, but this one felt different. She looked down and avoided eye contact and waited for whatever punishment awaited her. She had gotten used to being smacked on the fingers with her father's cane but it still was not pleasant and hoped that was not what he would opt for.

Strictness ran throughout the family. Their grandmother was a terrifying woman who Anastasia did her best to avoid. She felt very sorry for her cousins who had to live with her due to the death of their parents some years ago. If her parents died in the war, she'd rather become an angel too than be taken in by her grandmother.

Thankfully whilst growing up, Anastasia did not have to spend time with her often. Neither did Vladimir, which she assumed it was because they were much younger than their sister who was considered the perfect child.

"Bed, now!" Her father shouted in Russian this time, and Anastasia instantly rose from her seat, saluted and ran for her room.

Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request: Ravenclaw!¬ She is very creative and loves Russian history.

Personality: Anastasia is a very compassionate person. She cares very much about those who are worthy and has a soft spot for outcasts because she is considered the runt of the family by her grandmother. She is also very honest and often forgets to think before she speaks which is especially dangerous within a family who believes children should only be seen and not heard.

Unfortunately, at first she can come off as rather cold and mean. She is not at all even though her natural facial expression looks quite stern and almost angry. She is very kind, though loud and outspoken and possessed a rather witty but dark sense of humour. She enjoys horror books and books about monsters very much and sometimes pretends to be an evil sorceress {her twin brother is often her victim}.

Anastasia is also very creative and is wonderfully talented at art as well as possessing a beautiful singing voice. She is logical and also takes a great interest in her country's history and is very proud to be named after Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov. History is her favourite subject depending on how she is taught, she can be a very enthusiastic student.

She is not at all girly. A complete tom-boy and has even went as far as to bury a pink frilly dress in her back yard to get out of wearing it. Her brother is her best friend and they often explore outside and get a little too muddy for their parents liking.

Anastasia also loves animals very much enjoys horse riding. She owns a brown horse named Shokolad {chocolate in Russian} and a wolf pup named Boris who is unfortunately still in Russia. She plans on attempting to convince her father to import him to Britain as Boris and her brother's wolf Igor act as guard dogs for the family. If not previously mentioned, the wolf is the family's sigil.

Appearance: Anastasia is quite scrawny due to her young age and currently stands at 5ft. She straight but messy dark brown hair an her eyes are a peculiar shade of green - almost lime - that sit under her thick brows. Her skin is naturally tan and she has no interest in wearing makeup to improve her appearance.

Due to her tomboy personality, she doesn't like wearing feminine clothing. She especially hates sparkles and frills. Her favourite item of clothing that her parents approve of is her black dress which has a white peter pan collar, however she often forced to wear fancier clothes to impress those who are around them.

If Anastasia she had her way she would simply wear jeans and one of her twin brother's shirts.

Anastasia was lost again, for the third time today! The castle just seemed to get bigger and bigger and she was almost sure she'd never find her common room in time for bed. The last thing she wanted was to get in trouble on her first week.

Running down a corridor, she turned a corner and did not seem to watch where she was going as she almost piled into a young boy who seemed to be very upset. Before Anastasia could attempt to be kind and find out what was wrong, he opened his mouth and shouted.

"WHAT! Haven't you ever seen a loser before? Why don't you just take a picture!"

That was very rude and it caught Anastasia by surprise. Why, if she was his mother she would send him to bed without supper and make him think about his sins! His tone of voice and general lack of manners caused her eyebrows to furrow and her lips to purse and Anastasia marched right up to the boy.

Having lived with a twin brother, she knew just how to handle petulant children. Her brother was less than pleasant to deal with a lot of the time, but they were best friends so it was okay. Although often it did not stop her from punishing him herself.

"How very dare you speak to me in such a way! It's not my fault you're a cry baby!"

Her hands were on her hips and she had stepped close enough so their noses were only a few inches apart.

"You're lucky we're not at my house otherwise I'd punish you on my toy guillotine and your head would go..."

Anastasia continued to take her index finger to her neck and gesture a beheading. She had beheaded many of the dolls she had been bought on holidays as she disliked them so much and even pretended to behead her brother when re-enacting important scenes of history for their private tutor.

"So stop being a sissy or you'll get it!"

Roleplay:
Reply as your character to the following:

Godric Park.

Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.

"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.

Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.

Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.  "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?"

Roleplay Response:

Ana this, Ana that! Anastasia did not want to hear another word from her carer's mouth unless it was chak-chak. It wasn't like Ana was a naughty child either, all she wanted to do was go to the park and all the woman did was come up with selfish excuses as to why they could not go.

Currently they were in a cafe and the pathetic excuse of a nanny was standing in line waiting to order. It was taking too long and by the time they could finally go to the park it would be dark, so the young girl decided to slip away out of the door.

She ran to the park, which meant it didn't take long to reach. It seemed to have everything, slides, swings and even a roundabout! Anastasia grinned widely before running towards a free swing and hopping up onto it.

The swings were her favourite because they made her feel as if she were flying when the cold wind made her hair lift and dance mid-air. She put all her strength into swinging as high as she could in the hopes that maybe she would grow wings and be able to fly to where ever she wanted.

"You!" A voice suddenly sounded, "Do you want to play?"

Anastasia had to put her feet down quickly to stop herself from swinging into the girl. A cloud of dust lifted from the ground as she did so and she was more than sure that the soles of her brogues would be scuffed and dirty. She herself did not care, but she could hear the voice of her carer already.

"I could have hurt you!" She shouted, "Were you not told to step in front of swings!?"

Anastasia huffed and shook her head, her heart still beating fast out of shock. The girl was very lucky that she hadn't been catapulted to her death.

"Before we play I think you should learn the basics of health and safety."

(ooc: chak-chak - russian sweet.)
