Nila's children are Nathaniel and Adelaide.

I did some edits. Let me know if it needs anything else.

Biography: (300 words minimum.)
A family man should be known by his family. Even if it was a horribly broken and dysfunctional one.

He had started off admirably enough.

Noah Ross was where it all began. He had just returned to England after living in Egypt with his Hogwarts sweetheart, Nila Arian. There was a carnival, something to celebrate the end of summer, when he met up with Alexis Edwin again. She had only been a friend in school, but fresh off of his marriage proposal being turned down by Nila, she soon became much more.

Alexis had told him she was pregnant on his favorite holiday, Thanksgiving. It had been the only time he'd burnt food. They were married within the next months, and settled down to happily ever after. Derek was opening his own business, everyone was happy. Noah was the pride and joy of their world and nothing could come between them.

Sophie and Jackson Ross almost did not happen. Derek had taken up a position as Quidditch referee back at Hogwarts in the same year that his first love came back to teach Care of Magical Creatures. Billie Dragomir, with two children of her own in tow, had barely aged a day. They had dated in Derek's fifth and sixth year, breaking off when Derek continued to cheat with Alexandra Battersea, his brother's love. Ironic that it would be Billie's lips that he found now that he was married.

He blamed it on the pressures of work, on marrying young. Alexis took him back. Everyone made mistakes, right? Nine months later, the twins came into their lives. Maybe now, with the five of them, things could be better.

Nathaniel Ross Arian, as he was known then, was the only birth Derek was not present for. How could he be, when he didn't even know about the boy? It had turned out, when Derek had left Egypt, he was leaving more than Nila. Eight months later she gave birth to Nate, making him Derek's oldest, even though he would not meet him for years to come. There's never been a more awkward park outing than the one that brought Derek and Noah and Nila and Nathaniel together.

When he'd finally learned the truth, what else could he do? He took responsiblity for the pair: putting them up in a nice flat in Hogsmeade, spending time when he could with Nate, attempting to make up for the last years. It was inevitable that old feelings would come up in all that time together, and Derek found himself slowly falling for Nila again. He chose them, over Alexis and her three children.

Nyla Adelaide Ross is the symbol for everything that went wrong in Derek's life. Shortly after divorcing Alexis and moving in with Nila and Nate, another was on the way. Derek proposed, and this time was told yes. It was as if the last few years were erased and they were exactly where they were supposed to be. The time came for their daughter to be born, and it was there it happened. Complications arose, and Nila did not make it out of the woods. She died, just as their daughter took her first breaths.

It's been hard to look at any of them without liquid courage, since then.

Roleplay:
Reply as your character to the following:

It was impossible for Dianne to stay out of trouble. It wasn't that she was looking for trouble, it's just that trouble always managed to find her. Today she wished she could find something equally familiar but more comforting.

The five-year old girl hugged her puffskein closer to her and brushed her face in its soft fur for comfort. She had named him herself and he was always her special pet. No she was certain she had never gone down this side street before. Her anxiety increased every second as darkness fell as she walked down the road. A loud noise came to her left and she buried her face in her pet's fur completely. The scared girl bolted the opposite way slamming the both of them into the wall of the nearest building. Tottering back a few steps she found a door a few feet to her right and ran to open it. What light there was inside spilled out into the darkness and she spilled into the room.

Once in, she was caught between the impulse to curl her cloak up more tightly around her and loosen her grip on it. She wasn't alone anymore but she was now among strangers instead, which was nearly as terrifying. Her puffskein had recovered from the shock of the wall and now was purring contentedly as the girl hugged it, causing a mildly calming effect on the girl. Gathering her courage, she marched up to the nearest person, pulled on the nearest clothing hem and blurted out in a loud voice:

"I'm lost and it's dark and I wanted to know where I am but I'm not scared but I am worried that Sambundeakin is scared because he's little and needs something to eat and wants to go home."

She paused to draw a breath in her nearly never-ending sentence, "He misses my and his mommy."

To explain the scared girl held up the custard-colored puffskein. Sambundeakin the puffskein, however simply purred as if nothing on earth was wrong in the world.

Roleplay Response:
He should be at work.

The shop was fine without him though. It always was. He'd trained his bakers in better times, and they were more than capable of running things while Derek handled other matters. Matters that could only be handled by sitting in the bar at noon, with a liquid lunch. "Just put it on my tab." He said, as he put back on his coat, ready to leave. "I'll shee you tomorrow, Mack." He slurred, then stepped out into the light.

"Ugh." He shielded his eyes, even though they already as scrunched up as possible. He hadn't even seen the girl or felt her tug until she spoke.

"I'm lost and it's dark and I wanted to know where I am but I'm not scared but I am worried that Sambundeakin is scared because he's little and needs something to eat and wants to go home."

He looked down, and for a second thought, strangely, that Addie had followed him to the bar. He opened his mouth as if he was going to say something, but what could he do, really? If he couldn't help his own children, there was no way he could help this one....

He turned and went back into the bar. Let someone else deal with it.

"Mack! Get me another one."
