Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name: Skye B. Orchid (the name given by her adoptive family)

Birthday: January 1st, 1936

Hometown: Hogsmeade, Scotland

Bloodline:  Pureblood (she doesn't know that she is one though)

Magical Strength (pick one): Divination

Magical Weakness (pick one): Conjuring & Summoning

Year (pick two): Year 1, Year 2

Biography:

She does not know her real name.

She does know her birthday and she does know her age. Only due to the fact that she had received her Hogwarts letter on her 11th birthday.

She knows nothing much else.

It's all a big mystery for Skye. She can remember nothing before waking up in a bed of the Orchid household. The two inhabitants of the house, husband and wife, had retrieved her from just outside their house in Hogsmeade in the early hours of New Year's Day, 1946, when woken up by a rather loud noise. The young blonde girl was out cold near the entrance. There was a rather large bruise on her forehead. Nothing else. When waking up hours later, she couldn't tell them anything about her. Not even how she had gotten to their house.

The Orchids didn't know what to call her ... so they named her Skye. After the perfectly clear sky on that morning when they had found her on their doorstep. They took her in and cared for her since that day. After a while, the adoption papers came through. Much to the delight of both Orchids ... especially since Mrs. Orchid could not have children. The two started getting the young girl up to speed. She was getting the hang of things, slowly but surely. But there was a long road ahead. Moreover, the question about going to a school came along ... But how could she, when she didn't know much about anything? Plus ... what age was she? Maybe she was supposed to be in school already.

Nonetheless, Skye was learning about everything around her as much as possible. Either from the Orchids or from the people she comes across whenever going out in Hogsmeade or in London at St. Mungo's for periodical check-ups. She accumulated knowledge, including about magic. But the important stuff were still missing from her life.

Including the bright red light that had flashed in front of her eyes before she had hit her head against the wall near the Orchid's door.

Will she ever remember anything? Only time would tell.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

House Request: Sorting Hat, do your thing, please!

Personality:

Skye is a timid individual, having a developed inferiority complex towards the other children her age, due to the fact that she's amnesic. Nonetheless, whenever encouraged, she does open up and talks to people. But, without external impulses, she will not open much. However, when it comes to learning about stuff that she doesn't know, she asks questions. Sometimes, a lot of them, up to the point of annoying other people.

Appearance:

She is rather tall for her age, almost 5 feet. Somewhat lanky constitution. Blonde hair, shoulder length. Bright blue eyes. Usually with an inquisitive look at her face. Rarely smiles, because she finds no reason to do so.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.

Option 2

As soon as she had been done with breakfast, Skye had walked out of the castle and straight into the gardens. She wanted to be by herself for a while longer, before having to face her housemates again. So many kids, young and old ... It was intimidating. Especially for her, since she was different from others. Some even called her 'freak' behind her back ... or even in the face. That was rude. But there was nothing much that she could do about it.

There was someone approaching, but Skye ignored him. It was Hugh. As it was the case with the other students, she was neutral towards him. Not liking him, not disliking him either. She minded her own business until he sneezed rather loudly. "Bless you," she voiced rather timidly. Skye didn't know if he heard her or not. Heck, maybe he hadn't even noticed her.

Then she noticed him wiping his nose on his sleeve. She did have a napkin in her pocket, so she stood up to offer it to him. Except he turned towards her and behaved very rude. Skye frowned and sat back down on the grass. "I was going to offer you my napkin. But since you don't want my help ... " Why were people so rude to her? Just because she had lost her memory, that didn't mean she was an actual freak.

Rude people.

Roleplay:
Reply as your character to the following:

Godric Park.

Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.

"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.

Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.

Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.  "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?"

Roleplay Response:

Skye was still lost about everything. Even the Healers at St. Mungo's could not help her ... All they said was: 'It might come back on its own or it might not come back at all. There's nothing we can do.' Lovely, wasn't it? But what could Skye do really? Except for hoping that something would trigger any memories in the future. That was all that was left for her. Hope. Nothing more than that.

At least the Orchids were kind people and were treating her like their own child. It had been rather dreadful when Mrs. Orchid had confessed that she couldn't have children. Hence why Skye thought of her as her real mom. Not that she knew her real mother. So that was easy enough. And Mr. Orchid was a nice man, making sure Skye had everything she needed. Within the home budget. He didn't earn much, unfortunately. Maybe because he was a muggleborn? Although Skye just couldn't understand what the issue was about being a muggleborn.

That day, Skye had gone out to Godric Park for a little walk. The blonde girl knew her way around Hogsmeade already. There had been over six months since ... whatever had happened that had taken away her memories. But she was still in catch-up mode. For instance, she didn't know how to play Quidditch. Well, at least she knew what the game was called. But nothing more besides that ... Just that it involved some balls. And brooms, of course.

"...Do you want to play?"

Skye looked at the girl in question, wondering for a moment if she was talking to her. Yeah, had to be. There was no one else around. The blonde fidgeted for a moment before replying: "Um ... yeah ... But I don't know how."

The other girl was probably going to laugh at her. After all, Skye was 10. She should've known by now how to play Quidditch. But ... she really didn't know.

The troubles of being an amnesiac.
