Transfer Application

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.
Name: Lucretius Alecto Chaucer

Birthday: 29 January 1958

Hometown: Catton, Norwich, England

Bloodline: Pureblood

Current Levels: C6D5T5S5

Current Year: Just finished 2de Année at Beauxbatons.

Year Requested: 6th year.

Reason for Transfer: Originally attended Hogwarts; was sent to Beauxbatons as a punishment for a rather cruel prank instigated with his cousin, Lysander, which threatened the life of another student. As per his father's opinion, he has now served his 'sentence' abroad and is returning home.

Biography:

His heart fluttered, and he gingerly put a hand against his chest to quiet it.

"This is a privilege, and I hope you realise that."

The train steamed and puffed, the whistle sounding in one long, familiar blast, signalling its imminent departure. The platform was now nearly devoid of students, replaced instead by parents and children too young to board, waving hankies and shouting, laughing, grinning, teary-eyed.

Mesmerised, it took him a minute to turn to his father and face him, no longer needing to look up in order to meet his gaze. He'd grown, now several inches taller than his mother, and very well near level with his father, in his years away from home. Years away from one's family could drive one mad, an easy way to tell how much one changes without a constant. True, he spent just as much time at Pagefield, the Chaucer estate, during the summer as if he had been attending Hogwarts, but the distance between France and Norwich and between Scotland and Norwich made the time feel short and somewhat insignificant.

Not to mention that certain recent events had skewed the feeling even more.

"Lucretius,"

His father's gaze was expectant, but not altogether severe. Lucullus Chaucer was not a particularly disciplinary father, but certain circumstances had led him to send Lucretius away to Beauxbatons for several years--

(a cruel prank, a close cousin, a lost friend)

--circumstances that no longer mattered. Lucullus had planned to send him back the year before, but his son had, surprisingly, requested one more year abroad for the sake of who Lucullus now knew as one Landon A. Beauchamp, but circumstances hadn't been kind to him, either.

And so, finally, Lucretius Chaucer was returning to Hogwarts.

"I know," Lucretius replied, and nodded, wringing his hands. A smile cracked through his father's serious expression, and he held his arms out, offering.

Lucretius accepted the invitation joyfully, throwing his arms around his father's neck.

"Thank you," He murmured, and he felt his father's hand in his hair, ruffling before pulling away and holding him at arm's length. People had always said that Lucien looked more like Lucullus, with the curling golden hair and sharp features-- but as his father held him out and looked at him, one hand one his shoulder and the other against his ear, it was his own eyes he looked back at, on his father's face, gray-blue and kind.

"Stay out of trouble, Lu," His father murmured. "I'm glad you're home."

Home.

The word felt strange to him now, not completely convinced that he was quite there. A year before, two years before, Lucretius would have heartily agreed with his father; the Hogwarts Express behind him, the imminence of Hogwarts and a year of school and magic in his future-- how could that not be home?

But there was now something missing, irreplaceable, and it- he- could not be replaced. Yes, Lotharius would be with him, and perhaps Landon also, but home was now a relative condition.

(it ate at the back of his mind like a plague, the swirling cigarette smoke and cold smirk, left a hole in him, gaping, wide--)

He forced a smile, giving his father another quick embrace as the whistle sounded again, moving swiftly to kiss his mother on the cheek.

(--Lysander shaped.)

Scurrying toward the train, Lucretius stopped in the doorway as it began to move, pausing to wave at his parents once more, smile still trained upon his face.

He felt sick.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

[Hogwarts] House Request:
Slytherin or Gryffindor (ICly was originally a Slytherin before he transferred, but... whatever works better!)

Appearance: Like most other Chaucers, Lucretius has light blond hair, straight as a pin, which he keeps rather short to accomodate his athletic inclinations. Not much taller than five-foot-eleven, Lu has a pleasant face and kind features.
