Biography: (300 words minimum.)
Apollo’s earliest memories were of him and his siblings, cramped together into a single room. Anything but ideal, he could only be appreciative of the fact they still had a roof over their heads—as shabby as it was, home was home; his family were nurturing, loving, and he liked to think that made up for their lack of wealth.

Though such thoughts gave him no solace when he was handed yet another one of his brother's old jumpers.

It became apparent to him early on that there were others who lived lives he could only dream of. They threw away fortunes without so much as a second thought, never grateful for their privilege, showing no signs that they ever would be. Jealousy drove him to seclusion; he far preferred the company of his family anyway. (Even his twin sister, who at times was unbearable, especially when she got her own room—mainly because he hadn't.)

Hogwarts gave promise of a comfortable bed, satisfying meals, more than staring at grey stained walls and wondering if there was anything more than the tedium of his own life. He received his acceptance letter and with that a new-found purpose: to strive, succeed, surpass his relatives to forge a better life.

He should have known it was never going to be that easy.

Hand-me-down robes and a name that was so tragically ironic, made him stand out like a sore thumb. Sometimes it was subtle (mocking sneers, a carefully placed foot; he was proud to say not once did he hit the floor), others it wasn't so. The Sorting Hat was cruel, he would often think bitterly within the comfort of his pillow, to place him in a house filled with spoiled-rotten brats and, both figuratively and literally, throw him in the snake pit.

He probably should have fought back (that's what Artemis would have done) but it worked in his favor nevertheless—there was only so long their amusement could last when he was about as expressive as a brick wall.

Lazarus had gone, now nothing more than a taboo, Apollo had taken the weight of expectations upon his own shoulders; though unsure, he was sure he didn’t want to end up a washed-up King. His inveterate apathy did nothing to aid him, but his on-off efforts seem to do the job. He got high grades, learned Russian from a friend, Italian from another. Connections were vital, and though his name denied him from making the best ones, he'd made do with what he had.

His school years flew by, mostly uneventful. Avoiding the spotlight was an art he'd mastered, and though he couldn't say he enjoyed it too much, he found it to be the wiser choice. It was during his seventh year when Apollo reached the conclusion that the associations he’d made, no matter how carefully crafted, couldn't last long past the walls of the castle (real life was far more testing). Be it pursuing a career in Quidditch, becoming an Auror, or having articles featured in the Daily Prophet, all of his friends had aspirations much greater than his own. A childhood of broken and battered dreams that matched toys scattered across the floor, meant he could do nothing but take his own, realistic, path.

And so, Apollo graduated—making his way towards an uncertain future.

Option Two -
The snow had been falling steadily all morning and it didn't look like it was going to stop any time soon. Joshua Campbell scrunched his face up in a frown as he lifted his gaze to look to the sky. Snow. It really was quite a bother.

And it certainly didn't make it better that Diagon Alley seemed to be getting more and more crowded. Joshua sighed and pointed his wand at the large box that was currently placed on the doorstep of his shop. He had to get going. He had an order to deliver.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" The elderly man muttered and watched the box hover in the air for a moment. Honestly, did St. Mungo's really need that much tinsel? And with glitter of all things? He sighed again. If it hadn't been for the rather convincing stamp on the order, he would have been likely to believe it had been a prank by one of those orphaned rascals living up there.

Oh well, there was no point in waiting. Joshua deftly stirred the box down the doorstep and out onto the street, carefully levitating it above the heads of the crowd.

"Coming through! Coming through!" His voice sounded over the chatter of the crowd. "Keep out! Move ahead! Go on!" This was going way too slow. People were in the way and walking like they had all day! He huffed. Luckily the road was down hill.

"Coming through! Coming th--- arrrgh!" Joshua let out a loud shout as his feet suddenly slipped in the snow and sent him, the box, and several long strands of tinsel tumbling into the person who had been walking in front of him.

"For Merlin's sake!" Joshua muttered angrily as he hurried to his feet again, red and gold tinsel now decorating his black coat. "I am so sorry! This blasted snow!" He looked apologetic at the person he had crashed into.

Roleplay Response:
Apollo pretended his holey jumper did something to protect him from the cold—of course that was a lie, but it was the best he had out of his wardrobe of hand-me-downs. He idly picked at a loose thread on his right sleeve, cursing at the action caused the pullover to unravel far more than he'd expected.

When he got a job and some money, the first thing he was going to do was buy a new jumper.

"For Merlin's sake!"

Feeling something collide with his back, Apollo stumbled forward, still retaining enough of his balance to not fall over as the offender did. He turned around wearily, his expression unchanging as he saw the numerous strings of glitter strewn everywhere.

What was that for?

Instinctively, he moved his shoulder to detach whatever it was he felt on it (more tinsel, he realized a moment too late). He made a half-hearted attempt to catch it before it fell, letting out a long sigh as he watched it rest on the snow-covered ground. Reluctantly, he bent down to retrieve it.

"I am so sorry! This blasted snow!"

"Mm, whatever," He said dismissively, "Here you go." He held up the tinsel, and sneezed from either the cold or the glitter (he would have liked to believe it was the latter). Sniffing, he felt his annoyance grow at the man for prolonging his time out here in the snow.
