SHOPKEEPER PERMIT
You must have applied as an Elsewhere character before completing this permit.

Shop name: The Sinner's House
Shop Type: Part night club, part ilegal trading center
Location: Hogsmeade / Diagon Alley / Knockturn Alley / London
Subforum? Waiting for validation of the ticket in the helpdesk

Short Description (50 words max): Good liquor and good music are the soul of this establishment. Regardless of any kind of wicked transiction happening behind the most closed doors.
Long Description (200 words min): Newly opened, The Sinner's House is a classy,wizards-only vintage night-club located in a well-placed neighborhood of London. The attractions vary, and the doors are always open to those who have the talent. Liquor is a specialty of the house, but some other substances are also possible - if you know how to speak to the right person and, most importantly, if you have the right amount. Because here there is only one law: money.
On the outside
It is a red brick building with two floors, in which only the last have windows. The entrance is a large door of gilded steel and black glass - and above it a mahogany carved sign: "Welcome to the Sinner's House".
Inside
The Ground Floor - A large retangular room, the walls of the same red-brick from the outside and the floor being of a light wood. The lighting is low, with the exception of the stage- that is to the right side of the entrance. A semi-circular platform, surrounded by black velvet curtains and with a background of a golden panel.
In the middle of the room are scattered tables - all of a dark wood and surrounded by the same style of black leather sofa.
At the other end, to the left of the entrance, is the bar. Also in semi-circular format, in front of the huge liquor rack. The counter is the same type of wood as the tables.
On each side of the bar, there are spiral-shaped staircases, which give access to a higher level - where only the most influential guests, so to speak, can enter.
The second Floor The second floor can only be accessed through a outside staircase backwards at the building. It is divided into two areas: The apartment, where the owner lives and The Office, where all the financial part - legal or not - is maintained.

What purpose will this shop serve other than selling things and being the home of your character? Why would people want to RP there just for fun?Night-life possiblities. Love thread, hate thread, sob thread or whatever else please the player - with the addition that the description is for a range type of characters, instead of pointing for a single, pre-definite class. Not a glenteman night-club/brothel and not a family-friendly pub. A rather shy character that need to wind up? Easy to fit. Bold, wild character that want to have fun? Too. An artist looking for a gig? The same. Not to say that, unlike Diagon Alley or Knockturn Alley, the London board is empty in terms of this kind of establishment. Like the wizarding-life happened only at that two places plus Hogwarts. The workers at the Ministery, St. Mungo's, The Kingsley, the residents of London... All of them have to get out of London to some kind of night-fun?Yes i know about the flu and the Clubs in the residential board, and yet its a bit restritive - specially the last one. That would be a most easy option, where you don't have to had any attachments or specific traits.

Elsewhere Accepted / Re: Bento Marques - Elsewhere Adult
« on: 25/01/2017 at 23:35 »
Hello Martin,
Sorry, i totally forgot about the special request - it won't happen again.
My initial idea is the death of an NPC. In this case, the father. After a particularly heated fight, when Bento was only seventeen, the  volatile boy would have killed his own father in the heat of the moment.

Biography: (300 words minimum.)
Bento had always been a lone wolf.
Not that he was one of those sad, quiet, tedious individuals - oh no, from a young age he'd discovered he had a knack for disarming people with words and smiles. He had an artistic soul, too - something he shared with the woman he came closest to love: Norra Garda. But still, there was something wrong with the Marques' youngest son.
He was angry, uncontrollable, wicked. The total opposite of his older brother - Vicente. Noble, friendly Vicente who would be capable of everything for his little brother, who protected his ideals and his family until his last effort. So blinded by his idea of goodness that he could not see the monster that both his father and brother were. Because the patriarch of the family was nothing but a scoundrel.
College vacation was for many years his worst torture - and date of his worst acts, too. without the watchful eyes of the teachers, he allied himself with the worst possible wizards, eagerly pursuing the path of the dark arts. Lust, gold and power became his religion and philosophy.
Then in 1931, there was the accident. The curse that would send him into the darkness once and for all. And he hated Vincent too, because even in that situation his brother had not abandoned him. He left, leaving behind his homeland, his family, his memories. He traveled through the world, always founding himself in the dens of evil.
He had only heard of the death of his brother and sister-in-law two years after the event - which plunged him into a deep depression. He returned to Brazil, intending to offer his condolences, but finding a much more complex situation than that - the Tupiniquim movement, which his brother was a member, had suffered serious reprisals from the government. The country entered a dictatorship and all the rebels and revolutionaries were mysteriously disappearing. A name he hoped he would never hear again reappeared from the shadows one more time - taking advantage of the chaos and fear to finally take revenge on his family. Could Vicente and Morgana have been murdered? After months of unanswered and intense searching, Bento heard about the niece he had never seen before in his life: Elizabeth.
A whispered name, perhaps not so randomly, in the wind. Followed by the call of evil, threatened by just existing. He locate the man who had managed to deport her from the country moments before he was killed.
The little he knew about the girl: she was a young witch, at eleven years old, and was living with some of her mother's family in Europe. At least Bento knew that Morgana was English.
Packing again, Bento began his mission - save the girl, and send Sebastiana back to the pit of hell from which she should never have left. But a wolf is always a wolf - can he become a better person, or will he stay deep down on the darkness?

Roleplay:
You come across one of these posts on the site. Please select one & reply as your character:

Option One -
Amelia Nixon was many things, but she was never a pushover reporter that people could just usher away with a busy shuffle past. She was dedicated and eager to cut to the very middle of the current political tensions because she was Amelia Nixon and her articles would most certainly become front page material.

“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“

Another one brushed passed her, the shuffling busy masses making their way through Diagon Alley for the lunchtime rush. This had been the best possible time to get people, but none of them were giving her anything to go with.

Only momentarily discouraged, the short red headed lady took a seat on a nearby bench. Her quill resting in her left hand and her notepad ready in the opposite hand. Amelia pouted, tapping the quill against her leg as she scanned the waves of people for somebody - anybody - who looked like they had something to say.

She had been dreaming of her name in bold print, Amelia Nixon: The Source of Today’s Tomorrow. She had been dreaming of the larger office and the secretaries that would fetch her the morning coffee and fetch her anything she needed. The VIP interviews and the most exclusive press passes. But all Amelia had was a page seventeen piece on the rising number of frogs in London.

Hardened by a day of no success, the reporter stood up and started to trod off down the alley. A loose stone on the cobble path caught her heel, sending the distraught girl toppling down to the ground.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!” she yelled as she tried desperately to recover her shoe frantically in the middle of the Diagon Alley moving crowds.

Option Two -
The snow had been falling steadily all morning and it didn't look like it was going to stop any time soon. Joshua Campbell scrunched his face up in a frown as he lifted his gaze to look to the sky. Snow. It really was quite a bother.

And it certainly didn't make it better that Diagon Alley seemed to be getting more and more crowded. Joshua sighed and pointed his wand at the large box that was currently placed on the doorstep of his shop. He had to get going. He had an order to deliver.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" The elderly man muttered and watched the box hover in the air for a moment. Honestly, did St. Mungo's really need that much tinsel? And with glitter of all things? He sighed again. If it hadn't been for the rather convincing stamp on the order, he would have been likely to believe it had been a prank by one of those orphaned rascals living up there.

Oh well, there was no point in waiting. Joshua deftly stirred the box down the doorstep and out onto the street, carefully levitating it above the heads of the crowd.

"Coming through! Coming through!" His voice sounded over the chatter of the crowd. "Keep out! Move ahead! Go on!" This was going way too slow. People were in the way and walking like they had all day! He huffed. Luckily the road was down hill.

"Coming through! Coming th--- arrrgh!" Joshua let out a loud shout as his feet suddenly slipped in the snow and sent him, the box, and several long strands of tinsel tumbling into the person who had been walking in front of him.

"For Merlin's sake!" Joshua muttered angrily as he hurried to his feet again, red and gold tinsel now decorating his black coat. "I am so sorry! This blasted snow!" He looked apologetic at the person he had crashed into.

Roleplay Response:
Option Two -
Bento was beginning to feel a slight irritation. After so many years, I had forgotten how Diagon Alley could be exhausting and overcrowded. And that damned snow!
He had arrived in London less than a week, under the name of Benito Mazzola - he was not sure if some of the problems he had in the city in the past would still count, but ... Safety is never too much. He rented a small apartment in London and wore discreet clothing - but of good quality. Money had never been a problem, either in the wizarding world or in the muggle one. He was grateful for his poker face still being as good as in the past - the lies coming out of his mouth with an almost sugary tone. In that short time, he had conquered a mild trust from his neighbors - what could they suspect of an unfortunate man fleeing the war? And then, when the good citizens turned their eyes to the other side, he would sneak up to Knockturn Alley - meeting old friends.
Something fell on his back and nape, he took his hand to his neck - gathering some of it.     Was it ... Tinsel? With glitter?
A low growl began to form in his chest.
"Control yourself, you beast." He told himself. Turning  to the man still on the floor, Bento gave his best smile.
"It was nothing, sir." He held out his hand. "Diagon Alley can ruin anyone's nerves. Want some help?"
