Biography: (300 words minimum.)
Zachariah was born the third child of a Muggle couple in the southern United States; they were members of an anti-magic community that had isolated themselves from the wizarding world, not tolerating their presence in their town, citing religious reasons. Zachariah, nicknamed Zane, grew up in that cloistered environment and received his letter at the age of ten--one magical thing led to another, and he was taken to Salem; however, his parents disowned him as a result.

Zane spent his initial year at Salem angry and conflicted over the marked divide between the "knowledge" he'd grown up with and what he was being taught, but soon adapted to his new situation; he found that he had a talent for divination, growing plants, and healing spells. As a result, he began to pursue his ambition to become a Healer via the Knight Society. Occasionally teased for his still-feminine looks as he and his friends passed through puberty, he's developed a scathing wit as defense.

He graduated from the Institute and attempted to return back home to reconcile with his parents; they refused to see him, they argued, and Zane left for England as a result, determined to put as much distance between him and them as possible. He applied to St. Mungo's Hospital last year and was accepted, eventually settling in Diagon Alley, renting the attic space of Alles Saugt Rare Books & Tea and commuting to the hospital. Though he specializes as an apothecary, he's good with children.

Roleplay:

Mr. Grunch smirked as stepped into the shadows beneath the overhanging eaves at the side of the street. There was a sort of alcove here, where two buildings came together, and the wall was set back just a couple of feet to make space for a drain from the battered lead guttering. It made it difficult to see if anyone was standing there until you were almost on top of it, and the shape of the roof up above cast an almost permanent shadow even then.

There were a number of such places along Knockturn Alley and Mr. Grunch knew them all.

Seeing nobody was nearby, he quickly cast the concealment spell that would obscure his features, making him unrecognisable, just a blur beneath the cowl of his thick, but worn, robes. He knew his target, had identified them some time before, as they entered the Alley. He had shadowed them, discretely, and now, he knew, they were heading back out again, towards the safety of the better lit Diagon Alley.

He heard the footsteps approaching. This was it, then. Just before they reached the alcove, he stepped out suddenly in front of his target, wand raised and ready.

"Give me all yer galleons, and any jewellery yer got! Don't try to hide nothin', 'cos I'll know, right? Do it now!"

Roleplay Response:
The back of Zane's neck had been tingling since he'd entered the Alley, the blond nearly stopping in the middle of his errands to backtrack--it was only a faint burr at the moment, just leaving a bad taste on the back of his tongue, it would be better to get out before it got worse, etc, etc.

Despite that, he decided to press on; he was working the night shift all this week and he needed to procure what he needed for work before he went in this afternoon. His divination would just have to do for the moment: hopefully at some point that vague feeling would solidify into an actual sense of what was going to happen and stop being an annoying buzzing soon.

It did happen eventually; Zane was coming back from the shops, heading to Robert and Henrik's store with one hand curled around his wand in his pocket, eyes darting around the alcoves and darkened corners of the way when his eyes alighted upon a particular one and the tingling manifested into a definite sense of danger from a living person, hostile; his fingers tightened around the handle, and then the blurred figure (features obscured, concealment spell, wand out) loomed out of the alcove, and Zane's hand was moving even as he spoke, pointing his wand at him and casting Expelliarmus.
