Biography:
Everyone knew that the Grey family had far too many children- they bred like rabbits and people doubted that they would ever stop. It was therefore no surprise to anyone at all when Mrs. Cecilia Grey fell pregnant once more- the baby growing in her belly was her ninth, and Mrs. Grey herself was only just approaching thirty-four. Her husband, Mr. Peter Grey, was a kindly sort of man who held a position that only just allowed the family to scrape by with the eight children that they already had.

The baby was born more than two weeks early on the morning of the thirteenth of October. Despite being early, the girl was healthy and (from the looks of it) happy. The eldest Grey children had seen the births of too many children to really be interested in their new sister- who was just known as Babe until three weeks later when her parents eventually decided on Tamzyn- but the younger ones were fascinated, poking and prodding the tiny little soul, not really realising that she was actually alive. In fact, little Candace, one of the twins born just over a year before Tamzyn, actually thought that her new sibling was simply a doll to play with.

In a house filled to the brim with people, it wasn't very easy to get much attention in the world. Candace and Coleman were still only babies themselves, after all. However, Peter and Cecilia tried to give the newest addition to their family as much attention as they could- and in a way Tamzyn was lucky to be born into such a large family as there was always someone to play with.

Tamzyn's first ventures into the wizarding world came when The English Cousins came to stay when she was only two years old. The Grey family was so extended, it was rather hard to keep track of who was related to who and exactly which way they were related in the first place. However, The English Cousins were the sons and daughters of Cecilia's sister Jasmine, and there was almost as many of them as there were Tamzyn's siblings. One thing that marked the stark contrast between the two families was their choice of names for their children. While Cecilia and Peter preferred names that were a little unusual (and with children named Leilani, Henshaw, Carman, Haywood, Nathaniel, Struan, Candace, Coleman and Tamzyn it may be hard to say that they weren't a little unusual), Jasmine and her husband Michael preferred much more normal names. Yes, Edward, Thomas, Mary, Jane, Sarah and John were the height of being normal- a fact probably influenced by their Muggleborn father.

Anyway, whilst these cousins were visiting, the young Tamzyn got into a little bit too much mischief. John was just an infant at the time- barely six months old- but Sarah was almost a year Tamzyn's senior and the rest even more so. With Edward having just started attending Hogwarts, the most exciting adventure that the children got into was when Haywood dared him to cast a spell in the garden. Edward did just that, performing a tricky little bit of magic on an unsuspecting Tamzyn. The child thought that it was the most fun a person could have in the world- until the letter from the Ministry arrived. Edward was warned about using magic out of Hogwarts, and The English Cousins left, with Jasmine screaming at Cecilia that her children were "bad influences" on her "little angels" while they did. That was the first time that Tamzyn realised the implications of using magic, and she was, in her very young stage, quite scared.

The next big event in Tamzyn's life was the Time Warp- though she didn't know that. At four years old, it was a little disorientating but she quickly adjusted and her memories of the 1970s were lost quite quickly. Thankfully, she was part of a pureblood family, so no one in her family was lost. It would have been even more of a difficult transition if it had.

One by one, her siblings all left for Hogwarts. However, in time, other siblings came to replace them as Tamzyn's playmates. By the time of her own eleventh birthday, Tamzyn had three little brothers- Jackson, Eli and Emory. Before long, she too was at Hogwarts. She had been dreading the Sorting, but the house that she was sorted into made both Tamzyn and her family very happy. She quickly made friends, and right now it seems like nothing will ever bring down her fantastic mood. She'd just have to see how the next year goes.

Personality:
To outsiders, pinning down Tamzyn's personality is easy. They see her as an extrovert- someone who loves life and who life loves back. Sure, she can be annoying sometimes, and she is a little bit clumsy at times, but generally she's the type of person who couldn't say boo to a goose. While all of this is true, it doesn't epitomise Tamzyn completely.

To begin with, she can sometimes be very cruel and judgemental. Despite trying not to be, she can easily judge people on the things that they do and say. She can sometimes get caught up in gossip, and her large friend base makes it easy for her to collate information about someone behind their back.

While there is no doubt that she is charismatic, sometimes her charisma is a mask to hide her own insecurities. People seem to be drawn to her like a magnet, and sometimes Tamzyn wishes that they weren't. She can quickly lie to people even to their faces, and there is no telling what's going on behind her beautiful blue eyes.

Despite all of her faults, though, she is one of the most loyal friends that a person can come across. There have been instances where she had gotten into physical fights just because someone has insulted one of her best friends, and there is no doubt that she would do the same thing again and again.

Appearance:
Tamzyn has inherited her height from her maternal grandmother, standing at only five feet tall even after a growth spurt. She has blue eyes that display innocence and a certain brightness, showing that she loves her life. However, what lies behind these deceivingly innocent eyes no one knows. She has long blonde hair that she can never really be bothered to style.

OPTION ONE:
It was not a usual occurrence for Tamzyn to be in the Potions classroom outside of her lessons, but the particular project that had been given to them had caused her more than a few problems in her time working on it. Never one to give up, she had tried and tried and then tried again to get the work right, but it seemed that she was unable to complete it.

Asking for help wasn't her favourite thing to do, but it was necessary in this situation. At least now she actually knew what she was doing. Bidding goodbye to her professor and thanking them for their help, Tamzyn stepped out into the dungeons once more.

"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"

The voice caught her off guard. Tamzyn frowned, almost dropping the books that she held in her hand. She was a little far away to actually see the source of the voice, so Tamzyn walked forward, still not saying anything. It was probably a first year- they always ventured into the dungeons for a dare or whatever- and she didn't want to spook them any more by shouting to them.

Her eyes soon fell on the little blonde girl and a smile tugged at Tamzyn's mouth.

"I'm afraid that I'm not Emma Birch. My name is Tamzyn Grey. What's your name, sweetheart?" Tamzyn bent down to make eye contact with the girl. Luckily, she didn't have to bend far. "And what in Merlin's name are you doing down here? If you're lost, I can help you."

She smiled again and awaited the obviously younger girl's response.
