Name: Genevieve Micheline Speight
Birthday: November 7, 1960
Hometown: Sleepy Hallow, NY
Bloodline: Pureblood
Magical Strength (pick one): Divination
Magical Weakness (pick one): Transfiguration
Year (pick two): Junior/Senior
Biography: Born to a pair of pureblooded highbrows and raised as a white-picket daughter, Genevieve and her family lived a showcase of great traditional American values throughout the groovy 1960s, concealing their magical capability behind a facade of perfection and bellbottom pants, that is to say, until the time warp hit Muggle America- the same time the false front of a paradisiacal family finally crumbled to bits.
Economical struggles had been imminent from the very beginning, when Genevieve's parents had gone through their
buy every muggle thing in sight stage. Though they were respected purebloods among the wizarding world, the Speights had always been keen to the muggle culture, and revered it's unique complexity. They were mugglized wizards, so it was only natural they partook in the commercialized madness of the 1960's.
But when the time warp hit, the Speights were blindsided- a sudden, blunt change in American lifestyle was not something that would go unnoticed to such interested wizards. Things started to change, memories started to morph, and all of it was happening while money was tight.
They hadn't known it would lead to a disastrous lifestyle- frequent arguments, marital issues, and a confused little girl, left blindsided by it all. Genevieve's father William moved out just months after the time warp hit, when all the verbal fighting and accusations took toll on him. Feeling abandoned, her mother, Marie, was left to pick up the pieces and to care for their two young daughters with a very tight budget and a cloud of shame hanging over her head.
It's been years since the time warp hit, and Genevieve has long been enrolled in Salem, where she has wisened up and become more of a blooming young woman than a whimpering, lost girl. The family's memories of the time warp are almost entirely gone, and the memories prior to the time warp have adjusted to suit the 1930's lifestyle. Genevieve's mother and father have patched up their relationship very well, and her younger sister, Vivien, is quite the brain herself.
Genevieve has made a few good friends at Salem, and has molded herself quite nicely to the setting. While she struggles to pass most of her subjects, she is more than successful in her Divination classes, as the ability to sense things has always come naturally to her. Her relationships with family are moving nicely as well.
With a past that they can no longer remember, the family can only look toward the future with hope and reverence.
→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Society Request: Rook Society
Personality: A wise girl who has been through and seen a lot in life, she sees both the good and bad in many things, and sees herself as a mediator in life, made to balance the energies out.
While she has a generally kind and helpful personality, she ranges on being a hypocrite at times, when in desperation or extreme emotional pain, a negative side of her is despairing enough to show itself for the time being. Her speeches when in that state often result in great regrets, which poison her mind with guilt as time goes on, a large part of the depression that she carries on her shoulders.
While she isn't sure exactly where her depression stems from, the word time seems to pop into her head whenever her mind wanders off into her thoughts. She can't help but feel as if there's a wall in her own mind, deflecting her from the truth.
Without her depression, she could be arguably one of the most kindly individuals, with a heart full of love, vivaciousness, and compassion. Unfortunately, she is not without her depression, and must deal with the consequences of an overheated brain brought on by the time warp.
She does have a fully recognized hamartia, and a terrible one at that- she is full of hubris, deadly pride that lifts her ego on her better days. It is both a strength and a weakness, as it is always there, no matter how lowly she feels, she is never without an ounce of pride. But it also affects her posture, the way she carries herself, which comes off to many people as purely conceited.
Genevieve is a very complex individual, with a very dynamic personality that changes as she grows older.
Appearance: Dark, tightly wound spirals of hair and a porcelain face are her key features, the ones that pull her apart from a crowd. Her eyes are a cimmerian brown and very gently slanted, and she has prominently crooked white teeth and a small, pointy nose. Her forehead is on the larger side and is the focus of one of her main insecurities. Genevieve's build is ample and she walks with an air of effrontery, writing her off to others as mostly thickheaded and self-absorbed.

"How about I write the essay and stuff? You can just put your name on it. Sound good?"
Raising an eyebrow, Genevieve scoffed at the boy in front of her.
"Write
my name on
your report? Simon, that's just dingy. I do have a brain, you know. We can write up the essay together, like the teacher assigned us to do. With the two of us thinking instead of just one, it'll be much more proofed and polished. Double the work on one person isn't fair, and I won't allow you to do it by yourself."
Folding her arms over her chest, she raised her chin and looked up at Simon through thick lashes, daring him to disagree.
