Biography:
Christian has always been the odd ball of his family. Being the middle child, for the most part he was ignored or worse, used as a stepping stool by his sisters, Elizabeth and Marie. He always seemed more sympathetic than the rest of his family, caring more for what was going on outside of the walls of his family home than the "parties" that his parents were always throwing. Their ideals of "Pureblood society" were not something he looked very highly on.

The older he got, the more defiant he became. His father lost control of him rather quickly, Christian preferring the company of his older sister and her pretty friends to the company of the man who seemed to make his life a living hell. As the years went on, Chris had pushed his father to the point of beatings, the elder being convinced he could beat obedience into the boy.

When he shipped off to school for the first time, his father made it clear he was not to associate with "mudbloods", poor Christian not knowing the difference. The boy was expecting horns, or green teeth. There had to be something that made his father hate them so much. Much to his surprise, they looked no different than him. The young man wasn't sure how to react to that knowledge. They didn't seem overtly evil or really anything that seemed to set them apart from the rest of the students.

As the years continued, his pureblooded status began to wear on him, going as far as to bring muggle friends with him to visit during the holidays while his father was gone. Christian finally slipped up at the age of 14, his father catching him sneaking three of his friends back out of the house. His father was infuriated, deciding to take it upon himself to show Christian who would suffer when he defied him. He pulled the boys into his study, Marie standing just behind them, holding her brother to her chest. His father gave him the choice, either the boys would take the punishment, or Christian would. Marie told her brother to think on which would bother him more, the aches that he would feel later or seeing the disappointment and possible hatred in his friends. Chris took a stand against his father in that moment, telling him that he would no longer maintain himself as his heir if he was to bring harm to the boys, after all, they had done nothing wrong. Christian resigned himself to being the "perfect" son, when he was home. When he was at school, he was every bit the muggle sympathizer that his father despised.

Society Request:
Choose for me! I'm a little lost here.

Personality:
Likes»» Gardening, buying expensive gadgets and the "latest" in muggle technology. Also thinking too hard about the true nature of the universe. And enjoying life's finer culinary delights in the company of pretty girls. And drinking... a lot. And sleeping, which he doesn't really want to do, but seems to enjoy nonetheless.
Dislikes»» Lots of things, prats being at the very top of the list. His own father. He's not a fan of men who are unkind to ladies and general brutes. Potions, since he rather fails at making them properly
Strengths»» Being clever and cunning, being a bit of a jerk. Usually being able to maintain cheerful optimism even in the face of death.
Weaknesses»» Liking the muggle world and muggles a bit too much for his family... Letting most of his intelligence and cunning go to waste by consistently failing to think very far ahead into the future of most of his deeds.

Christian has adapted so well to life with Muggles that, as his father puts it, he's practically "gone native." He embraces all current technology, fashion, and fads; he utilizes "modern" technology especially as a source of fun and frustration to use against the muggles who invented it. Christian's speech tends to be filled with slang, and his attitude is usually stylish and cool. And, after living for six years among muggles, Chris has started to absorb and emulate some particularly bad qualities - a tendency towards vanity, for example, or a nasty habit of pondering some unsettling questions about both Muggle, Purebloods, and the great "ineffability" of Blood Ties.

On the surface, Christian is everything that you would expect a pureblood to be: mean-spirited, cunning, greedy, selfish, and possessed of a certain insidious intelligence. However, the real Chris is far more complicated than meets the eye. For one thing, six years of living on around muggles has affected his outlook dramatically - he's fascinated by the muggle world and by muggles themselves, and even grows to - dare I say it - love the them, or at least like them enough so that he doesn't want to see them destroyed. Chris seems to equally dislike both Nazis and Germany, and doesn't look forward to them making too many steps out of line. Christian isn't entirely selfish or self-absorbed either; he's even willing to make a hopeless stand against his father himself in order to protect the lives of a handful of muggles (and because his sister convinces him that by this point, he has nothing left to lose anyway). Despite the fact that Christian disobeys his father and absolutely screws up the "family status", he still survives with his scaly skin intact. The End? I don't think so.

Muggles, Purebloods, and Magic are rendered in moral shades of gray; and Christian, a boy who should by all means be cruel and evil and absolutely despicable, defies expectations and is one of the most complicated, sympathetic, and likeable members of his family. It's no wonder that Christian often acts as the philosophical voice. Christian's wicked and wonderful personality is a synthesis of everything that being human stands for.

Team player was not a good word to use for Christian.

'Plays well with others?' No. 'Plays well with self?' Oh yeah. That was a good one. So when Simon chose him to be his partner for this project, he nearly keeled over. Had the boy lost his mind? Hadn't he noticed that the only people that Chris normally worked with were female? When he worked with a girl, at least they were distracted with his looks and the charm, then he could make sure the two of them wouldn't fail the project. Working with Simon was going to be a whole new ballpark.

His tie had been cast aside on the table, a proverbial plethora of books strewn in front of him. He had nearly lost himself in he own copy of A South-side View of Slavery; or, Three Months At the South by Nehemiah Adams. The book was getting pretty old by this point. Eighty-four years old, if his math was correct. What got to him, was what it must have been like for the man who wrote the book. Everything seemed bad these days, but what he gathered from this book, things had been much worse then.

Flipping to the next page, he found himself quickly getting engrossed in the book, his hand absentmindedly reaching for another one of their reference books to get a decent idea as to what he was looking at from the Northern side of things. When his hand missed another book for the fourth time, he finally pulled his eyes away long enough to notice he had been groping at open air. Shaking his head, he tried to ignore what sounded like his father's voice ringing in the back of his head. No. He was not at home and he was not under that monster's thumb. He didn't need to deal with that right now.

Christian's head snapped to Simon when he spoke. How- What?! Was Simon seriously suggesting that HE write the essay and Christian was supposed to just sign it? How was that fair to him? How was Christian supposed to deal with that? It wasn't right to make him do all of the work by himself. No way, that wasn't about to happen.

"Look, it's nice an' all that you'd be willing to do somethin' like that, but it's a bit uncalled for. I can do the research, right? I'll shoot the notes over to you and you can put it together. We can do it as a team, yeah?"
