Spell Damage

Why did you request that particular department?
Has been working as a Healer-in-Training in that department for the last 4.5 years IC.  So it would make sense that as he moved up in the ranks he would stay in the same department.

He originally choose the spell damage department as he figured that if the damage was caused by spells it would have less germs involved.  Which is good as he is probably one of the largest germiphobes working at St. Mungos.

Biography: (300 words minimum.)
Prior to Jabari's birth there was much debate of what to name him. Seeing as he was a middle child the name of his father was already taken. So his grandfather Razi suggested the name of his great grandfather. Hoping that he would end up like his great-grandfather who had passed some time ago. Even though as he grew up the comparisons occasionally showed Jabari in a negative lite as unlike his grandfather he was lankey, small, and not gifted with magic. However there is hope that over the course of his life that will change, and his family has groomed him for that change.

While Jabari's life has been intertwined with the history of his family. Being born in London even though his family's estate is in the south of England the exact location is a secret. He has spent his whole life on his families estate or visiting other families that are friends of his parents. Making his social circle very small except for his siblings. Making him slightly awkward and excited around groups of people as he is not used to them.

His education prior to this point has been through home tutors with his siblings. With him not being the smartest of his siblings he has always gotten top marks from his tutors. Mostly as over the years he as bribed, blackmailed and convinced his tutors by other means to give him the top marks his father expects of him. This has caused him to hone his observation skills to learn as much as he can about people and has no problems using others to achieve his means.

One former tutor when he was seven kept mentioning odd things he and his siblings had never heard of. Instead of mentioning those things directly to his father he taught his youngest sibling at the time to say those strange words. To gather what they meant and directed them to say them in front of his mother. Turned out the strange words were things related to the muggle world which was rather useful information for him. Seeing as even when he was seven he knew muggles were bad. With that valuable information he could use he tried to blackmail the tutor into giving him good grades or else he would tell his father the tutor was a muggle. His plan did not turn out as he expected as the tutor left quickly after, even if in her wake his grades were higher than he expected. Not perfect by any means but far higher than they should have been. Little did he know at the time muggles could not do magic and his blackmail was worthless. Something he would not learn until years later.

His last tutor left his families employ under a much different situation as just a few months before he was going to Hogwarts his plan failed. He tried to bribe his tutor into giving him good grades and was caught. His father somehow found out apparently the tutor was so weak that under questioning about grades the tutor spilled like a baby. It was a rather pathetic display from what his father told him even though what his father missed was the fact that Jabari did it because he was failing some subjects. As his father assumed from his previous performance that his motivation was Jabari just wanted really high grades to impress his father. An assumption that Jabari has worked hard to keep the remaining few weeks before he starts at Hogwarts.

Besides his troubles with his lessons and tutors his life has been rather uneventful. Jabari enjoys playing quidditch with his siblings however has never played a full game as he has never had enough people. He has attempted to observe as many of his fathers business meetings as possible seeing as he wants to be just like his father. Which has taught him way more than any tutor ever could. One time hiding under a couch he heard his father describe how much of a plague muggles were and how bad they were. Which did not make much sense to him but he knew he did not want to become sick so he planned to avoid muggles. Not that he ever managed to get a decent description of what they look like. However he figured that it would not be that hard to identify them with the horrible descriptions he overheard from his father.

One of his favorite things is to travel with his dad to Knockturn and Diagon Alley to visit all the shops. He used to find it annoying how his father always pulled him away from people at random. Until his father explained to him that he did not want him anywhere near mudbloods. Which from his observation looked just like any other wizard he had seen. Thankfully his father was able to keep him safe from them. Which was one thing he was nervous about when going to Hogwarts as how would he tell the muddy bloods apart from the others.

Which caused even more of an argument in his house as his mother does not like the term mudblood and says it is a bad word. Even if his father used it all the time so he knew there was no way he could even ask people if others were mudbloods. Sure he had gone over a couple of more acceptable ways of inquiring, but he knew if he was one of them he would lie. So there was no way he could even ask people not that it worried him much as he was good at figuring people out seeing as he had lots of practice. Plus he was sure the muddy germs could not get through a good pair of gloves which he planned to wear when he left for Hogwarts. As well as to pack many of them as he knew his father would buy him the best if he said he was interested in playing quidditch. Or just because he wanted them but he usually went the extra mile and made up a reason. Mostly as he was really concerned about getting whatever sickness that made them unable to preform magic as it would upset his father if he caught it.

____

When he went to Hogwarts he was sorted in Slytherin. His grades were mediocre, however he did have a few successes in the form of winning at dueling, quidditch and his work in the hospital wing. He is probably remembered for dodging and throwing shoes more than spells in dueling. He is also likely remembered for being an extreme germiphobe, which while he never said anything negative about muggleborns was usually directed towards them.

All in all, the majority of his successes could easily be attributed to his best friend Pryce Hir.  An attribution that in typical Slytherin fashion he wouldn't point out besides to Pryce who already knew it.  With the majority of his failures being blamed on others - often those who were muggleborn or of lower stature.

Prior to his seventh year at Hogwarts he got sick and spent the beginning of what would have been his seventh year in St. Mungros. Due to his previous experience working in the Hospital Wing and the amount of time he spent at St. Mungos he decided to become a Healer.  The position was rather easy to obtain between connections his family had and his familiarity with the department.  He began training for as a healer-in-training in the winter of what would have been his seventh year instead of returning for the rest of the school year when he was well.  As even in the few months of being a patient he ended up helping out occasionally getting rather decent of recognizing the signs of trouble so it was determined he didn't really need those last couple of months of Hogwarts.

He is currently working as a Healer in the Spell Damage department of St. Mungos Hospital.  In his spare time he is secretly doing research on trying to figure out whatever disease squibs have that prevents them from doing magic. As the only thing scarier than the plague to this germiphobe is the concept that a germ could take away his ability to be a wizard.

"Coming through!"

The double doors burst open as the newly-minted Junior Healer shoved through, dodging the milling patients and staff and leaving behind a trail of parchment. The doors stayed open just long enough to allow a glimpse of the scene beyond - a riot of noise, colours and gesticulating arms - before closing again.

It was Archibald Forrester's first day on the job, and while his professors had warned him it could get hectic at St. Mungo's, he'd never imagined it'd be quite like this. Arms transfigured and somehow regrafted onto someone's head, an Auror coughing up rainbows after a dust-up with a gang of young hooligans in Knockturn, and oh - that patient up on the fourth floor that was running around telling people he was Merlin reborn. And that was just the cases that had come in the last hour.

It had to be time for his shift to be over, right?

He gave up the lost bits of parchment as a lost cause and cast a frantic Tempus. One minute. Heaving a sigh of relief,  his eyes instantly began darting around to find a convenient on-duty person to hand his load over to. Shoes - bought at the nice medical suppliers and outfitters just down the street - squeaked on the floor as he weaved and skidded around corners, before finally stopping in front of the first figure he found.

"Here. Here are all the charts - the arms for the Transfig patient seem to be morphing into tentacles, and Healer Wilberforce says we need to operate now but needs a second opinion - the Auror's squad captain is outside demanding to know what's been keeping the treatment and uh - "

A few floors up, muffled thumping and howling could barely be heard, but Archie winced anyway.

"Right. Mr. Merlin's somehow gotten hold of a wand and now the entire psych wing believes in him too - for the love of all that's magical, take this, please!"

Roleplay Response:

He chuckled watching the new kid started telling his story.  Naturally it seemed like he had an exciting day, but oddly days like this were more normal than one would think. He even understood the people in the psych wing getting so bored that they believed Mr. Merlin.  With a sigh he said " Lets see what you got here for the Transfig patient, as until Mr. Merlin hits someone with that wand and they are transferred it isn't my problem. " rather calmly as he took the offered charts and looked at the tentacle growing patient's information.

He had no interest in dealing with the Auror's office.  Jabari said " Tell the people from the Auror's office that were working on figuring out the best treatment for him.  Then mention we that we want to see their report of what they were up to so we can consider anything else he may have been exposed to." Then he paused and added with a smirk " Hopefully it will take them a bit to write a report for us that it will get them off our back. "

The best thing about Ministry folks that like any government they were one large bureaucracy, and didn't like to share information.

Jabari said " If it is a transfiguration issue I'd say no to operating.  You don't operate on transfiguration unless you have to, and especially not as the spell is still causing a reaction. "  Then with a slight shake of his head he stepped towards the door looking towards the kid and said " Or you could ignore the Auror's office and come help with the Transfig patient. "

After all, he truly couldn't care less about telling some Auror an update on a patient that according to the records had just been brought in.
