Yes, the Children's home. (Is it an actual place on the site?)
Elodie is not an orphan though to a 5 year old it has the same connotations. Her unmarried parents, barely known to her, were themselves young when Elodie was conceived. Her father upon hearing the news did as many teenage boys would have and scarpered leaving the heavily pregnant  Marie to her own devices. When the deeded day of Elodie's birth arrived no one came to visit her or her broken mother having been shunned by the family over the undignified affair. For over a year Marie struggled alone, trying to raise her daughter but eventually scammed to her ever worsening mental state. One blustery may morning, Marie packed her things and her child and headed to the children's home. It was there she left Elodie, with tears in her eyes, before continuing her own journey away from demanding yells and whispers of a better past.

Biography:
Having being abandoned by both of her parents by the meager age of 15 months, Elodie didn't have the most positive start in life. Everything seemed to be against her, even her own name meaning wealth, seemed to be an ironic jibe at her having been left with nothing by her penniless parents. Still, she knew no other life and the children's home was tailored to suit the needs of a parent-less child of which there are many, even in a magical world. So she found herself in good company. Surrounding by playmates from dawn to dusk, life was quite a jolly affair for the little girl.

As she grew so did her confidence, and soon the little girl was quite a lot larger and louder, maybe more so than other children her age who don't have so much of a battle to be heard. Her wispy white blond hair and shocking blue eyes adorned her pale face, but that was the extent of her beauty. She was young enough still to have that cherubim cuteness about her that would prevent anyone from seeing more than her chubby cheeks for at least another few years and it would take more years still for her to see it herself, but that day would inevitably come. For now though her biggest worries were only games. Too young for school and work Elodie could waste days building camps, drawing pictures and pretending a family around her, often with the help of other children but similarly the same feats could be accomplished alone.

She did not in the least dislike company and did her best to remember her Ps and Qs when anyone was around. She had a sweet, endearing nature and a need to be cuddled on the not infrequent occasions when she felt a little upset. All in, despite her struggles, Elodie was kind, playful, cheery, an average little girl who in her own eyes was not in the least bit different to anyone else, except she had more brothers and sisters.

Sample RP:

Elodie had been sitting on the rocking chair shy of an hour. After dinner it should have been bath and bed but the adults were busy and Elodie had somehow managed to duck under their radar, not that she was complaining, this meant that she could play for longer. Now though she was tired and having climbed up on the chair had promptly dozed off. Dreams of rabbit and cauldrons and pumpkin pie tumbled about inside her little head. Hopping and bouncing and eating and laughing with each other, the characters told stories and played and tugged on her dress. Elodie wriggled, trying to pull away from the force in her dream when she awoke, knocking her head gently on the arm rest, to find the tugging was in fact real.

Her sparking blue eyes, drowsy now from sleep looked around to see no adult, realizing their oversight but a small girl whom she didn't know. She was more than used to new faces, in her opinion it just meant more friends, but at this time of night was odd. Most people came here in the morning or at lunch time, Elodie had never known some one to come after tea, yet here the frightened little girl stood, holding some sort of animal.

Elodie raised a pudgy arms to her face and rubbed her eyes with the heals of her hands before taking a proper look. The face unspeaking, well Elodie didn't hear her speak, kept on looking. Elodie smiled. She sat up and pushed herself onto the floor, catching her dress beneath her and showing all who stood behind her, her undergarments.
"Don't worry" Said Elodie, stretching out a hand to stroke the proffered puffskin. I'll find an adult, they can help you and... fluffy. I'm Elodie. I'm tired." She said, opening her mouth wide to yawn before turning away from the girl and the pet she had dubbed fluffy and holding out her hand, expecting the other girl to take hold.

Accepted. (And no, the Children's Home isn't a location on the board any more, although it was once).
