Last thing: I just recalculated in my head (I'm not the best mathematician) and figured out that my character plot makes more sense if Amora is 21, instead of 18. So sorry, this is my last edit!

Thank you so much! I tried to apply for a metamorphagous but the link wouldn't work for me for some reason, how should I go about it then? Thank you!

(I'm sorry, I couldn't finish fleshing this out, I had to go. I thought there would be an edit button for me to finish now, but there isn't so I will add what I couldn't finish here. So sorry!)

Bio (Cont'd)
This was four months ago.  Now she just spent a lot of time in her flat, writing. Her kitchen was full of stacks of paper, and if her mother didn't send daily reminders to nourish herself, she'd honestly forget to do so often. When she isn't writing she is in one of two places: Her family's mansion, or the graveyard. Perhaps it wasn't healthy to spend so much time in front of a cold stone, but Amora couldn't bring herself to mind, There was just so much she never said, whispering it to the ever-blooming flowers that provided a barrier between the living world and him was the only way for her to reach any semblance of catharsis.

Thanks to her mother's subtle hints at finding distraction she has turned to journalism once more with a new edge and focus to her work.

CHARACTER INFORMATION
Character Name: Amora Louise Newbury.
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Blood Status: Halfblood

Education:
Attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in Ravenclaw house, and graduated from her seventh year with good grades, though not amazing. Potions was abysmal, but it was to be expected. Before turning eleven she had been home-schooled with her younger brother Alvaro by her mother Marilyn Caldwell-Newbury.

Residence:
Amora still has her room in Caldwell Mansion, even after the time shift, due to the Mansion being over a hundred years old. Though it looked different, of course. However, since graduating she had gotten herself a flat in a wizarding area, a little two-bedroom thing in London, nothing fancy from the looks of it, but it was hers and that was all that mattered. And it was above a bakery, which was always a plus.

Occupation
Mo always wanted to be a reporter, and certainly had the cunning to do it, not to mention a handy talent for divination, but her blunt and persistent manner was often more affronting than desired and made it difficult for her to be a 'team player'. So far she has had odd jobs, still trying to become a hired reporter. Luckily she can live off of her inheritance from her late father's pureblood fortune.

Do you plan to have a connection to a particular existing place (for example: the Ministry, Shrieking Shack) or to take over an existing shop in need of new management?
It would be nice to work for the Daily Prophet at some point, but no other affiliations.

Requested Magic Levels:
Adult characters have 32 starting levels to distribute across these four categories (less levels can be used if you so desire, but no more than 32). The number of levels on the lowest ability must be at least half of the highest ability.

If you want levels above the usual 32 total, or a significantly uneven distribution of starting levels, please fill out and submit the Special Request form here.

  • Charms: 7
  • Divination: 13
  • Transfiguration: 8
  • Summoning: 4
Do you wish to be approved as a group with any other characters? If so who and for what IC reason?
No groups, but I was wondering if my character could be a metamorphagous? Its alright if not, I was just wondering.

Biography: (300 words minimum.)
Amora Newbury was born to the Pureblood Marilyn Caldwell and the Halfblood Jake Newbury. Her father's mother was a pureblood witch who married a muggleborn wizard and took with her an enormous fortune, and the Caldwell's were third rate purebloods, who pretty much only had their estate and reputation for producing exceedingly dark witches and wizards. Marilyn Caldwell is a potions mistress, who specializes in complicated poisons and, begrudgingly, antidotes, though she is arguably not evil like her ancestors. Just...grumpy. Grumpy and talented. Her husband, an auror, was killed in action when Amora was twelve, and Alvaro was nine. Amora took her fathers death very hard and still refuses to talk about it. She's very protective of her younger, Gryffindor brother, and worries about him constantly (but secretly.) Especially since the time shift, because her brother is a closeted homosexual and would face devastating prosecution. Another weight on her heart is the semi-recent death of her love, Elliot Windsor. They had grow up together, he was her brothers age, and they had always skirted around their feelings (read: she had denied feelings, he had professed them constantly) and when she finally admitted to her feelings he had been murdered for the 'M' on his chest a few months later. This was four months ago.

Option Two -
The snow had been falling steadily all morning and it didn't look like it was going to stop any time soon. Joshua Campbell scrunched his face up in a frown as he lifted his gaze to look to the sky. Snow. It really was quite a bother.

And it certainly didn't make it better that Diagon Alley seemed to be getting more and more crowded. Joshua sighed and pointed his wand at the large box that was currently placed on the doorstep of his shop. He had to get going. He had an order to deliver.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" The elderly man muttered and watched the box hover in the air for a moment. Honestly, did St. Mungo's really need that much tinsel? And with glitter of all things? He sighed again. If it hadn't been for the rather convincing stamp on the order, he would have been likely to believe it had been a prank by one of those orphaned rascals living up there.

Oh well, there was no point in waiting. Joshua deftly stirred the box down the doorstep and out onto the street, carefully levitating it above the heads of the crowd.

"Coming through! Coming through!" His voice sounded over the chatter of the crowd. "Keep out! Move ahead! Go on!" This was going way too slow. People were in the way and walking like they had all day! He huffed. Luckily the road was down hill.

"Coming through! Coming th--- arrrgh!" Joshua let out a loud shout as his feet suddenly slipped in the snow and sent him, the box, and several long strands of tinsel tumbling into the person who had been walking in front of him.

"For Merlin's sake!" Joshua muttered angrily as he hurried to his feet again, red and gold tinsel now decorating his black coat. "I am so sorry! This blasted snow!" He looked apologetic at the person he had crashed into.

Roleplay Response:
Amora was, as far as her feelings ever went, neutral towards the grey weather. If anything she was somewhat preoccupied. The witch had just come from visiting her mother and and younger brother. Merlin, they had been a nightmare. Though, not really. They were just trying to help, it wasn't their fault she refused to speak of anything as bothersome as emotions. She was a Caldwell as much as a Newbury, and Caldwells weren't supposed to have emotions anyhow, if one believed public opinion. Her mother, true to her nature, had simply given her a calming potion without so much as a word, and slipped a dreamless sleep vial into her daughters coat pocket.

Alvaro, however, the puppy that he truly was, had been all sad-eyes and worried-lip-biting. And Amora never did have the heart to be unkind to him, so she had given him a facial twitch that could perhaps from a glance be construed as reassuring and patted his shoulder. It hadn't done much to change his expression, but he hadn't really stopped looking at her like that since the funeral. He couldn't understand, really. Luckily, she supposed. Her mother did though, she'd lost her husband after all, years ago, but she hadn't remarried and Amora's father still smiled at them from a sketch Marilyn had drawn after the shift, after the photographs had disappeared.

Amora was suddenly wrenched from her thoughts by a jolt and soon found herself on the ground, in the snow to which she found herself no longer quite so neutral, and covered in...glitter? Tinsel?

There was a man apologizing but Amora shook her head and replied in a matter-of-fact tone. "No need to apologize, it was an accident. The street is icy at times, I understand." She brushed the tinsel out of her long brown hair and gathered it in her hands. "Here is your...glitter."
