Biography:
"He's not one of us. He's just like them! He looks like them. He talks like them. Honestly why doesn't he just live with them? Good riddance!"

"That's enough young man. Now take your little brother and sister outside and play Quidditch. Nicely. I won't tell you again."

The arguing continued from the kitchen. It wasn't the first time he'd heard those words, although he was sure his brother would say much worse once they actually followed their mother's directions. He always saved his worst insults for when they were alone.

Being the youngest had its downfalls. Especially when he wasn't. Not really.

As far as Jackson Ross could remember, he always had two family. Us and them. His parents had divorced before he and his twin sister were tall enough to ride a broom. The details had never quite been discussed in front of them. It wouldn't be proper.

But children have a way of finding things out, especially when that information can be used against The Enemy.

To Noah, and eventually Sophie, that's what Nila Arian and her two children were. The woman who stole away their daddy and then go ahead and die just to make sure things could never be the same for Noah, Jackson, and Sophie. Now they were stuck having to deal with a father drowning his sorrows, and a new brother and sister.

They would have "play-dates." That's what his mother called them. In reality it would be time for his father to have the kids, and they would end up at Aunt Lexi's while he went out "to visit a friend." He would "be right back." They wouldn't see him until they came downstairs the next morning to him snoring on the couch, smelling like the potion used to clean their wounds from Noah's idea of play.

"It's hard for him honey. He just misses your father. He doesn't mean it." His mother would whisper to him at night, before bed. The fact that Noah had been the only child to really get any alone time before everything changed was never brought up. Or the fact that Jackson missed him too.

Their play time evolved over the years. At first, just the two oldest boys would square off against each other in the backyard, with the twins as their audience. Noah was always more physical, finding ways to 'bump' or trip up Nathaniel no matter what the activity. Nate's weapon of choice were always his words. As they got older, when Adelaide was old enough to join them, Jackson still found himself on the outside. He would ref the games, or simply read against a tree as the other two pairs played amongst themselves.

He was the only one who didn't mind Nathaniel and Adelaide, but maybe that's because he could see they weren't any better off than them when it came to their father. He would even trade books with Nate and stay up late talking about them, feigning sleep when Aunt Lexi came to check on them. When the fights got too bad, it was normally Jackson who stepped between the two older boys, unlike Sophie who would take advantage of the distraction to launch her own attack on Nate.

Now, the four of them would be in the castle. The past two years had been a wonderful respite for Jackson, not having Noah around to pester and bully him when Nate couldn't provide a better target. Surely, in just a few weeks time, they'd be reunited in Gryffindor and once again, Jacks would find his days a torment. Because every real Ross is a lion. His brother's words echoed in his ears. Their parents, their grandfather. Noah had gloated endlessly when Nathaniel had been sorted to Ravenclaw.

Picking a seat for the Quidditch matches was going to prove...difficult.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

House Request: Ravenclaw.

Appearance:

Jackson is the only one out of Alexis Ross' three children to inherit her dark hair and hazel eyes. As they got older, most mistook Sophie and Noah as the twins, instead of him. He has a slight build, and is vertically challenged. Puberty is a long way off for Jackson Ross.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.

"WHAT! Haven't you ever seen a loser before? Why don't you just take a picture!"

"You shouldn't let him get to you like that." His voice was quiet as he caught up to the other boy. If it wasn't for their close distance, he wouldn't have been sure James had heard him. "Trust me, that's what he thrives on." Jackson had spent his time in the stands, reading, as the usual. Sophie would have killed him if he hadn't been there, so he'd brought a book along to pass the time.

Even the magical adventures of the witty yet abrasive detective and his loveably stoic sidekick could distract Jackson from that game-changing fumble James had in the last reamining minutes. He winced in sympathy.

"Besides, you've only lost to Noah this one time. I've been doing this for eleven years now."

It could have sounded just as self-pitying as James' if his voice hadn't been so flat in its delivery. After a while, you just get used to some things, and the force that was Noah Ross was one of them. He tried a smile instead. "C'mon, let's go see if anyone's figured out the new common room riddle yet."
