Biography: (100 words minimum.)
Todd Lloyd was the only child of Eleanor Vigorsen, a well-off pureblood woman from a good family, and Theodore Lloyd, a muggleborn man who took part in the war. The two met at a dance and quickly fell for eachother. They only spent a few passionate weeks together before Theodore had to return to war. When Eleanor discovered she was pregnant her parents were furious, they hid the young woman from the world, and sent the child, Todd, to an orphanage. Heartbroken and resolved to put the entire story behind her, Eleanor broke up with Theodore in a letter and never told him about his child. She did, however, name the baby after him.

Todd grew up in this orphanage, completely unaware of who his parents were. However, every year, on his birthday, the boy relieved a mysterious and unlabelled package. It was always filled with books of all kind: fiction, non-fiction, history, art, science, and so on. The boy became an avid reader, devouring every tome he could. He mostly didn't fare quite well in the orphanage filled with rougher children: Todd never could quite hold his own in a fight, and he tended to have a sharp tongue and a judgemental attitude.

At 15, he is hoping to soon be able to receive the legal independence needed to leave the orphanage and go off on his own. As it is, he spends most of his time out of Hogwarts at the local library, often staying until the very close, to avoid the orphanage as much as possible.

Roleplay:
Reply as your character to the following:

Godric Park.

Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.

"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.

Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.

Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.  "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?"

Roleplay Response:

The summer months had never been kind to Todd Lloyd. He mostly despised the orphanage: the other kids didn't like him very much and the feeling was quite mutual. They, however, tended to be much better at expressing their frustrations through external means. Todd's fingers carefully brushed over his bruised eye, wincing under the pain. If he could only use magic outside Hogwarts he could... but he couldn't. There was no point in dealing with the impossible, and Todd was not one to let himself be wracked by what-ifs.

Instead, he pushed himself farther into the wooden park bench and refocused his attention on the newspaper he was reading. It was a fairly unpopular quarterly, exploring new advances in science and technology. He read an article proclaiming a revolutionary new discovery in the field: the earth possessed what muggle scientist Eugene Parker called a 'magnetosphere'.

Todd was reading through it quite passively, when a loud, high pitched little voice broke his concentration. He looked up from the paper to see a small child, asking him to play. It certainly wasn't the first time: after all, the orphanage had all kinds of children. Generally though, they gave one look at his entire demeanour and asked him to play chess... or called him a nerd and kicked him in chins.

He frowned.

"Not really." he started. "But I can read you this very boring article while you run in circles around the bench if that sounds like a good time to you."

He had never been this generous.
