Biography: (300 words minimum.)
Elena was raised in a very high standard of living having grew up around parents whom stressed work and academics over personal matters. Her family consists of her ailing mother and father and older brother who works as a Healer at St.Mungos. As a young child, Elena was often very rebellious especially in her first and second year at Hogwarts as due to the overprotective nature of her parents. She grew to resent them after displeasing them at the Sorting by being placed in House Gryffindor despite the rest of the family holding a long-lasting tradition of being of Slytherin heritage. She grew further away from them instead looking up to her brother as a role model and one she could trust through her times at Hogwarts. She learned to settle in at her time at the school serving as a Chaser for the Quidditch team and a Prefect and found herself enjoying her time at Hogwarts at last. That peace was short-lived however as during her fifth year,a month before O.W.L.S, the girl was swiftly removed from all her positions and temporaily suspended after the Ministry conducted a raid on her home which resulted in the arrest of her brother. Eventually, Elena found out her brother had been framed for a scandal in which her parents had paid off an official to keep quiet about some Dark objects that had been found in the residence which the girl had unknowingly showed to some Muggle friends that resulted in their injury. The case was brought before the Wizengamot and eventually, the court relented ordering her parents to Azkaban for a brief of period time after which they would be under house arrest and her brother was cleared of all charges. Elena was allowed to return to the Castle and finish off the remainder of her years. After graduation, she joined the Ministry of Magic like her brother and enrolled in the Auror Office much to the displeasure of her parents yet again. Her skill in spellwork and dueling were exlempary and were one of the contributing factors that caused her to excel in her role. She now serves as a Auror despite struggling with the fact that her parents will never be pleased with her life choices, she has accepted the concept that she is her own person and not some plaything for them to manipulate.

Roleplay:
You come across one of these posts on the site. Please select one & reply as your character:

Option One -
Amelia Nixon was many things, but she was never a pushover reporter that people could just usher away with a busy shuffle past. She was dedicated and eager to cut to the very middle of the current political tensions because she was Amelia Nixon and her articles would most certainly become front page material.

“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“

Another one brushed passed her, the shuffling busy masses making their way through Diagon Alley for the lunchtime rush. This had been the best possible time to get people, but none of them were giving her anything to go with.

Only momentarily discouraged, the short red headed lady took a seat on a nearby bench. Her quill resting in her left hand and her notepad ready in the opposite hand. Amelia pouted, tapping the quill against her leg as she scanned the waves of people for somebody - anybody - who looked like they had something to say.

She had been dreaming of her name in bold print, Amelia Nixon: The Source of Today’s Tomorrow. She had been dreaming of the larger office and the secretaries that would fetch her the morning coffee and fetch her anything she needed. The VIP interviews and the most exclusive press passes. But all Amelia had was a page seventeen piece on the rising number of frogs in London.

Hardened by a day of no success, the reporter stood up and started to trod off down the alley. A loose stone on the cobble path caught her heel, sending the distraught girl toppling down to the ground.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!” she yelled as she tried desperately to recover her shoe frantically in the middle of the Diagon Alley moving crowds.

Option Two -
The snow had been falling steadily all morning and it didn't look like it was going to stop any time soon. Joshua Campbell scrunched his face up in a frown as he lifted his gaze to look to the sky. Snow. It really was quite a bother.

And it certainly didn't make it better that Diagon Alley seemed to be getting more and more crowded. Joshua sighed and pointed his wand at the large box that was currently placed on the doorstep of his shop. He had to get going. He had an order to deliver.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" The elderly man muttered and watched the box hover in the air for a moment. Honestly, did St. Mungo's really need that much tinsel? And with glitter of all things? He sighed again. If it hadn't been for the rather convincing stamp on the order, he would have been likely to believe it had been a prank by one of those orphaned rascals living up there.

Oh well, there was no point in waiting. Joshua deftly stirred the box down the doorstep and out onto the street, carefully levitating it above the heads of the crowd.

"Coming through! Coming through!" His voice sounded over the chatter of the crowd. "Keep out! Move ahead! Go on!" This was going way too slow. People were in the way and walking like they had all day! He huffed. Luckily the road was down hill.

"Coming through! Coming th--- arrrgh!" Joshua let out a loud shout as his feet suddenly slipped in the snow and sent him, the box, and several long strands of tinsel tumbling into the person who had been walking in front of him.

"For Merlin's sake!" Joshua muttered angrily as he hurried to his feet again, red and gold tinsel now decorating his black coat. "I am so sorry! This blasted snow!" He looked apologetic at the person he had crashed into.

Roleplay Response:
Cold. It was too cold. "Should have brought a thicker coat, Elena." She muttered to herself pulling her scarf tighter around her as she navigated the hordes of people going about their buisness. Places to be, people to meet. That was the sentiment that most people carried these days, they had their own personal agendas to fulfill rather than tending to the wants of others such as the struggling man pushing his way through the crowd with a floating box and was that...glitter? She blinked a few times watching as he took a tumble into the snow-filled ground right behind her and as the tinself got onto both of thier garments.

She exhaled a sigh brushing off some of the snow."Merlin's sake, man, you seem to be in quite the the hurry, I daresay."
She glanced at him, his panicked face and the now disrupted contents of the box."Not that's a bad thing of course, but just where it is you are trying to deliver this...item to?Surely in your predicament, the Floo Network or Apparation would have served as a better alternative than attempting to fight your way through all these lovely souls here."

She said gesturing to the people around them who just seemed to go right around them barely batting an eye at what had just occurred. It was a rare sight for anyone to stop these day. She finally relented and waved the apology away feeling a bit of sympathy for the individual."Don't worry about it and get yourself recollected. Might I ask where you are headed? Perhaps I can assist you in getting there."To be fair, the man did look a bit aged so she was understandly worried when he took his fall. She would rather not have people breaking bones here and there. She hoped wherever he was headed, it was close. She had to get to the Ministry urgently. It didn't help she had woken up five minuters later than usual. It was a miracle she had woken up at all after last night's meeting. Her owl had taken the courtesy of pecking her until she woke so at least Flutters was useful for something, at least.

Hi Elena, welcome to the site!

Your application looks great so far, there's just a couple of things we'll need you to edit before we can get you accepted.

In your biography, you mention that:
Quote
She learned to settle in at her time at the school serving as a Chaser for the Quidditch team and a Prefect and found herself enjoying her time at Hogwarts at last. That peace was short-lived however as during her fifth year,a month before O.W.L.S, the girl was swiftly removed from all her positions and temporaily suspended after the Ministry conducted a raid on her home which resulted in the arrest of her brother.

Given our site's long history, we have played characters who held the positions of Chaser in Quidditch games and Prefect in the years that Elena was at school. While it's possible that she may have trained as Chaser, this would have been a preferred position, rather than guaranteed (the nature of our Quidditch games means that players often substitute for different positions as the game unfolds). Furthermore, she could not have been Prefect, as these positions were already filled by other characters in her time at the castle.

If you could remove the reference to Elena being Prefect and the reference to Chaser (simply changing this part to 'serving on the Quidditch team' would be fine!), and also remove the mention of Elena being removed from her positions, that would resolve the above issues.

Once you've made the required changes, please repost your entire revised application below, and we'll be more than happy to take another look. Thanks!
cherry lips, crystal skies
i could show you incredible things

stolen kisses, pretty lies
you're the king, baby, i'm your queen
