Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name: Simon Lincoln Koizumi

Birthday: Febuary 23rd, 1934/5

Hometown: Baltimore, Maryland

Bloodline: Halfblood

Magical Strength (pick one): Transfiguration

Magical Weakness (pick one): Conjuring & Summoning

Year (pick two): Fifth or Fourth

Biography:
Laura and Hiroshi Koizumi already had four kids when they gave birth to Simon in Osaka, Japan. They both came from respectable families and had a moderate amount of wealth, Laura being a Halfblood and Hiroshi a pureblood. Simon doesn't remember much about his childhood, only that he had lots of room to run, and, being the youngest, he was always doted on. Having four sisters, life wasn't easy, and he always seemed to be left out from their games. After a while he learned not to care as long as he had his toys.

When Simon was three, his parents started to have trouble with their relationship, and by the time he was four years old they officially separated. Laura moved back to her hometown in Baltimore, Maryland, and took all five children with her. They would go visit Hiroshi on holidays and in the summer. Simon himself doesn't remember much from this time, only not understanding why they were moving away from his dad. He did know his mother seemed happier, and his oldest sister, Talia, told him that was all that mattered. And because Talia was older and therefore wiser he took her word for it.

Simon got used to rotating between his parents very quickly, and soon it seemed normal for him. He began his education in a small Wizarding school in Virginia, not that far from his mother. During his three/four years there, he didn't join the quidditch team, and wasn't that enthusiastic in general (except for the newspaper). He enjoyed his time there, doing moderately well in his classes. He had a couple friends there, and most of his sisters were by his side (aside from the sister that was closer to his age, Leanne -she seemed to have far to many friends to spend much time with his siblings.)

Toward the middle of his third/fourth year, his mother's friend in England announced that she was starting a buisness. Laura decided she would take the opportunity and take a job with her friend. Upon hearing this, Simon was kind of distressed, but mostly excited. He'd never been anywhere except for Maryland, Virginia, and Osaka, and he was beyond ecstatic to explore the new land and go to a new school. Simon and his siblings have gotten permission from their father to skip their summer visit and get new friends. Simon is sure he'll be fine with his sisters helping him.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request: Wherever. I like surprises.

Personality: Simon doesn't talk much to strangers, is polite, and speaks in a soft voice. He's been called a respectable young man, which he supposes is mostly true. He loves adventure and new things, and is known for getting bored very easily. Just because he doesn't like breaking rules doesn't mean he doesn't want to have fun. His love for adventure often collides with his general avoidance to conflict and he finds himself running away often. (Even though he immediately regrets it) Growing up with four sisters, Simon has pretty tough skin but will break down if someone he cares about insults him. Simon isn't an extrovert, but he isn't shy either. Some people assume he's a snob, but he just really likes to do most things alone and constant socialization makes him tired. He won't ignore someone if they try to talk to him, and will make an effort to be friends if they do first, or if he takes a special interest in them. Simon might not be with his friends always, but he does care about them. (He has to find other, smaller ways to tell them this other than screaming a challenge in their honor when someone is mean to them)

Appearance: Everything about Simon is average. He's average height and average weight. He has black hair, cut under his ears. He has black eyes that appear brown in some light, framed by wire-rimmed glasses that he always seems to lose. His robes are of top quality, but Simon always manages to spill something on it.

People were annoying. Not all of the time, of course, but sometimes they talked too much or said too much or smelled bad or looked at Simon strangely or kept tapping their foot on the floor during exams even though they knew Simon had concentration problems and was absolute rubbish at this subject. There were no exceptions to the rule, even the most pleasant person could be the most irritating even if it was only for one second.

Most people were even worse in groups and everyone's little quirks combined to make a bunch of unnecessary noises that just agitated Simon for some reason he didn't understand. He'd tried to escape the hoards of people in his common room, only to find there were people literally everywhere in Hogwarts. (This had never been a problem in his old school, even though it was much smaller there was always a place for Simon to be alone) Again he tried to do something productive- maybe study, be he found himself red in the face with frustration. Every sound was amplified in Simon's head, even the jingle of coins in someone's pocket seemed make his brain rattle. By this time he was desperate.

Most people generally avoided the dungeons, (except for Slytherins, who's common room was in there) so he figured he could get some peace and quiet. The problem was he wasn't sure what to do, so he ended up laying face-down, his forehead pressed against the cool floor, trying to ignore the smell.

"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"

Simon briefly considered playing dead, but the girl already sounded scared out of her wits, so he hopped to his feet. "Um, not that I know of." He'd heard the name Emma Birch before in the middle of someone's hushed conversation, but he'd never met her before. Brushing himself off, he continued, "But I'm Simon. You want any help finding your friend?" The girl was clearly younger than him, which meant she was either fantastic or completely insufferable. He decided to take his chances.

Plus, his alone time was already interrupted anyway.
