Biography:
Renee Matson was born in London England into a pureblood family. Her mother was a Slytherin and her father a Ravenclaw when they attended Hogwarts and often play-argued about which house their only child would be in. Her dad was often away at work in the Ministry, while her mother stayed at home and cared for her. All in all, her life was fairly normal up until her seventh birthday, when The Blitz officially started. She often has nightmares, remembering the horror of the bombs falling from the sky and reliving the moment she realized her father wasn’t coming back home.
Her mother tried her best to raise a little girl on her own, but found it difficult. She married a muggle man who often let out his anger on her. The abuse rarely hurt Renee physically, but it did mentally. She refused to leave her room for days on end out of fear of her stepfather. Her mother had to deliver her food to her door for her to eat. She spent all the time alone reading and sneaking out to bookstores for more books.
Once her dad died, she rarely showed signs of being magical anymore, no matter how sad or angry she was. Her mother feared she may have somehow lost her abilities due to trauma, but was proven wrong on Renee’s tenth birthday. Her stepfather had come home from work especially irritable and immediately tried to lash out at her mother. Without realizing what she was doing, Renee jumped up and reached out her hand to stop it, and her stepfather was thrown back with enough force to knock him out. When he woke up he lost his memory and had to be sent to a ‘special hospital’ as her mother put it. She was happier after he was sent away and began showing her magical abilities more often. Her mother was sad for a while about it, but after some help she became happier as well. The two would joke with each other and go on walks together with all the free time they had. Renee made sure her mother knew she would end up perfectly fine without a dad, and her mother was relieved to know that.

Personality: Renee is a very sociable girl, and even seems a bit flirty at the best of times. She loves to be around people, but still limits herself so she has enough time to recharge and relax with a nice book. She gets nervous easily, but will stand her ground. If you mess with anyone she loves, she will get back at you for it. She's pretty tough because of what she's endured, so it takes a lot to make her emotional to the point of tears. She tends to enjoy the company of her calico cat, Tabby, more than humans.
Appearance: Renee has dark brown/black hair and light blue eyes. She's fairly thin slightly due to an eating disorder she developed when she would hide in her room. She's been trying to make herself look more natural by trying to eat more frequently, but tends to skip at least one meal a day. She wears dorky glasses when she reads, and is never seen without her silver-and-blue ring. The ring was originally her father's, but was given to her by her mother after he passed. She always wears it so it feels like she has a little bit of her father always with her.

Renee was stretched out over a long bench outside of Hogwarts. Everyone was inside eating breakfast in the Great Hall, meaning it was perfectly still and quiet outside. She pushed her glasses back up the bridge of her nose subconsciously as she reread "The Tales of Beedle the Bard" for the fifth time that week.
She was so wrapped up in the book, she didn't even notice a large fifth year lumbering through the bright rows of flowers around her. Only when she heard what sounded like a bomb exploding miles away did she look up, relieved to discover she was still at Hogwarts and not back at London in the tiny bomb shelter. In the time it took to ground herself, the fifth year boy had said something to her. She was about to ask him to repeat himself, when her cat jumped off of her stomach and pounced at something near his feet.
