Biography: (300 words minimum.)
Her childhood prior to Hogwarts was typical for a young girl from a pureblooded wizarding family of high means, who had a father who spent more time at the ministry trying to rise than at home.  She had private tutors, siblings, and when she pouted she would get whatever she wanted.  Which when she was younger was a combination of books, dolls, and hair ties.  It was only when she was older and wanted bigger things that she stopped getting what she wanted.  However the expectation that she'd get what she wanted never went away.

Entering Hogwarts she was sorted into Ravenclaw after the hat sat on her head long enough to mess up her hair causing her to spend nearly half of the opening feast fixing it.  The hat had wasted her time by saying something about how while Slytherin could have made her great that Ravenclaw would free her to truly unlock her curiosities.  It made no sense to her, but she was thankful not to have to wear green as it sometimes could reflect badly and give her skin a slight green tint.  Or at least she was convinced it would, and still doesn't wear certain shades of green without a proper base coat of make-up on her face.

Edith's time at Hogwarts was a slow transition from the slightly spoiled little girl that had to look perfect that entered Hogwarts to the confident, curious, and slightly odd young lady that graduated.  Her interests quickly went to things that were more theoretical and required putting things together to come up with a final conclusion.  Subjects like divination, conjuring and summoning, and arithmancy, transfiguration interested her and she put all her effort and reading into them.  Which gave her interesting NEWT scores with her excelling at subject that interested her getting Outstandings, and in the rest of her subjects getting Acceptable OWLs and not wasting her time with them beyond that point.  One notable exception was Astronomy which she maintained an interest and good grades in purely to use as an excuse to escape to the rooftops with a steady stream of romantic interests.

After she graduated Hogwarts she didn't suddenly changed into a responsible adult - she only managed to get responsibilities as she got older.  The only responsibility that she managed to not lose interest in were her children - mostly as they were easily moveable when she drifted to new interests otherwise.

She still enjoys the random romantic interest - it is just not advertised.  After all, her father forced her to marry a distant cousin who had a few embarrassments of his own that a marriage would help hide.  The tipping point for her was the first time she got pregnant with her first child and a father was needed - or more accurately an acceptable father was needed.  Thankfully her husband seemed to find the arrangement of pretending whatever children she had were his, they weren't, and she enjoyed the freedom of not being tied down.  Thankfully her type for romantic interests are close enough she can pass off differences as recessive Razi genes.  Naturally part of her has always wondered about her husband, and why he accepted such an arrangement.  However for the most part he was rather boring to her, and she never had the attention span for things that do not interest her.

She still enjoys tea parties - they are now just more sophisticated.  Her table is always delicately set with the finest of unmatching china tea cups.  As often in her tea parties the subject moves to divining things and whenever a cup foretold of something bad she insisted her house elves destroy the cup.  After all, it is just not safe to drink or use a cup that is tainted by negative energy.  As she is a firm believer that touching something with negative energy could have that negative energy impact her in the future.

She still enjoys researching and reading about the things that interest her - except now she does more than read about them she actively tries to discover them.  Instead of getting a job after Hogwarts she traveled the world and actively researched her interests.  If it weren't for her children she'd still be exploring the word and researching the finer points of magical interactions, and divination theory.

Roleplay:

Option One -
Amelia Nixon was many things, but she was never a pushover reporter that people could just usher away with a busy shuffle past. She was dedicated and eager to cut to the very middle of the current political tensions because she was Amelia Nixon and her articles would most certainly become front page material.

“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“

Another one brushed passed her, the shuffling busy masses making their way through Diagon Alley for the lunchtime rush. This had been the best possible time to get people, but none of them were giving her anything to go with.

Only momentarily discouraged, the short red headed lady took a seat on a nearby bench. Her quill resting in her left hand and her notepad ready in the opposite hand. Amelia pouted, tapping the quill against her leg as she scanned the waves of people for somebody - anybody - who looked like they had something to say.

She had been dreaming of her name in bold print, Amelia Nixon: The Source of Today’s Tomorrow. She had been dreaming of the larger office and the secretaries that would fetch her the morning coffee and fetch her anything she needed. The VIP interviews and the most exclusive press passes. But all Amelia had was a page seventeen piece on the rising number of frogs in London.

Hardened by a day of no success, the reporter stood up and started to trod off down the alley. A loose stone on the cobble path caught her heel, sending the distraught girl toppling down to the ground.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!” she yelled as she tried desperately to recover her shoe frantically in the middle of the Diagon Alley moving crowds.

Roleplay Response:
“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“

It had been awhile since her short hair and rather bland clothes had her mistakes for a man.  However whenever it occurred she found it rather entertaining as a chuckle escaped her mouth.  Though since it was for the Prophet she hoped the bug would just fall by the wayside.

A wayside she might have helped occur as she had no desire to talk to the woman with a slight hex aimed at a cobblestone.  As it would slow down the reporter and let her get on with her day.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!”

A broken heel.  Now she felt a bit guilty as she knew that was a horrible fate.  Though it would allow her and everyone to vacate the area preventing yet another inaccurate and boring story from begin written.  Moving towards the lady she offered a hand to help her up and said " Loose them. Those heels are dreadful anyways."
