Eres Herondale

Biography: (300 words minimum.)
“Mother said that smoking isn't very ladylike.”

Aurora paused, light eyes looking up at her sister, the cigarette just inches from her lips. She smirked, pulled her nose up at the girl in front of her, before allowing the cigarette to slip from her fingers, landing softly against her crimson bottom lip. Aurora inhaled deeply, allowing the smoke to fill her lungs before exhaling from her nose, grinning at the little blonde Herondale before her.

Her sister Eres was quite the little posh child, however she was one of Aurora’s more tolerable siblings. Merlin knows what any of her brothers would say if they say her here. Her father would have her head, that was for sure. But then again, Aurora was never his favorite. He’d probably ignore her and pretend she didn’t exist. Maybe even lock her away when he had guests over. The thought caused her to laugh a little, she was a failure in his eyes.

Like she cared.

The sooner she could rid her self of this blasted family the better. Her dreams of becoming a healer was just within grasp, and she intend to achieve it. Her father would have much preferred her to become a wife and a mother, like Aurora’s own mother who did nothing but stay at home and drink scotch. It was a miracle father hand’t smelt it on her yet, that he beautiful, perfect little woman was indeed an alcoholic witch.

Or maybe Aurora was just being bitter. She resented her parents for not taking her at all seriously. They were much more interested in prepping the golden child, Neptune for marriage and heirship. She was surprised he had managed to remain single for so long, if her parents had had their way, he would have found himself a pretty wife and sired a child by now.

That was what Herondale children were expected to do.

Continue the lineage of purebloods. Sons were preferred of course, it was always more suitable if the child kept the Herondale last name, but then again, daughters provided the opportunity to spread their branches out towards other wealthy families, which was always a good thing.

They never let an opportunity to gain money slip away.

However Aurora intended to make it as difficult for them to use her as a tool for marriage as possible.

The older blonde slipped the cigarette from her lips, tapping it slightly to allow the ash to fall before glancing back at her sister, who was leaning against a nearby oak tree. She stared longingly at the window of the manor, inside sat the Duke’s, visiting of course. Xanthos sat back towards the window, but she could recognize that mop of brown hair anywhere.

“Why don’t you go join them?” She asked, planting herself onto the ground and tucking her skirt between her legs. She stared pointy at her sister, Eres pouted slightly before facing her sister, tearing her eyes from the window.

“I dunno, I guess I’m just tired of seeing father act so pleasantly fake around guests, besides, I’m not hungry.”

“But don’t you want to see him?”

It was obvious that her sister had feelings for the boy, quite obvious indeed. She was surprised that father hadn’t proposed the two get engaged already. But perhaps he had other plans in mind for her little sister. He was quite fond of the Fairbairn family in Scotland, and he’d tried to marry Aurora off to one of those boys a while ago. He might be plotting for Eres to marry one of those red headed, freckle faced gits. Wouldn’t that be fun…

“Yea…” Eres paused, “But…I mean, How do I know he feels the same?”

Aurora took another long drag of her cigarette, resting her head on the tree trunk behind her. Eres gave a loud sigh before moving towards Aurora and sitting next to her older sister. She uncomfortably went to her knees, stroking her skirt straight in front of her to avoid it from creasing. Aurora lifted a brow and put her arm around her little sister.

“Well, Eres… Honestly, you can’t know. You’ll have to ask him.”

Her sister turned a sickly green colour and shook her head furiously as if Aurora had just suggested she rub grandpa’s feet. Aurora giggled slightly at her sisters horror. She didn’t remember if she ever had any trouble with males during her years in Hogwarts. She had been sorted into Slytherin and rarely dealt with crushes. During her younger years, her brothers had often terrorized her and threatened boys she spoke with with some or other story about her poisoning them with chocolates.

Aurora swore that Persephone had started a rumour that Aurora turned boys into snakes and rats when she grew bored of them, which was ridiculous, she’d much rather prefer turning them into flies which were way easier to swat.

“Go on, I dare you.”

Option Two -
The snow had been falling steadily all morning and it didn't look like it was going to stop any time soon. Joshua Campbell scrunched his face up in a frown as he lifted his gaze to look to the sky. Snow. It really was quite a bother.

And it certainly didn't make it better that Diagon Alley seemed to be getting more and more crowded. Joshua sighed and pointed his wand at the large box that was currently placed on the doorstep of his shop. He had to get going. He had an order to deliver.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" The elderly man muttered and watched the box hover in the air for a moment. Honestly, did St. Mungo's really need that much tinsel? And with glitter of all things? He sighed again. If it hadn't been for the rather convincing stamp on the order, he would have been likely to believe it had been a prank by one of those orphaned rascals living up there.

Oh well, there was no point in waiting. Joshua deftly stirred the box down the doorstep and out onto the street, carefully levitating it above the heads of the crowd.

"Coming through! Coming through!" His voice sounded over the chatter of the crowd. "Keep out! Move ahead! Go on!" This was going way too slow. People were in the way and walking like they had all day! He huffed. Luckily the road was down hill.

"Coming through! Coming th--- arrrgh!" Joshua let out a loud shout as his feet suddenly slipped in the snow and sent him, the box, and several long strands of tinsel tumbling into the person who had been walking in front of him.

"For Merlin's sake!" Joshua muttered angrily as he hurried to his feet again, red and gold tinsel now decorating his black coat. "I am so sorry! This blasted snow!" He looked apologetic at the person he had crashed into.

Roleplay Response:
Aurora was on a cigarette run.

She had just come from picking up her cousin from St Mungos who had been discharged, the crouch young man seemed terribly upset that they had sent Aurora to pick him up. Merlin, he acted as though he had expected a bloody chariot!

The blonde scoffed, frowning deeply. She quickly pushed through the busy alley, muttering curses and swears at all those who were foolish enough to try and push her out of the way. She was in no mood to be swept around by the current of witches and wizards that darted around.

She really hated coming here so late in the afternoon, she knew it was always packed... But she never bloody learned, did she? After dropping off her incredibly pompous cousin, she tried to find the nearest coffee store. They usually sold muggle cigarettes for low prices. She could just go into London if she wanted to, but the thought of changing into more muggle attire put her off, and she wasn't about to be seen in a cloak next to a bunch of ignorant muggles.

Aurora turned a corner and before she knew it, her, along with her handbag, crashed into another person. She gave a loud 'Oof!' before collapsing and knocking her head lightly against the cobble stone. The blonde thought she was seeing starts until she realized that it was indeed tinsel.

"Huh?"

"I am so sorry! This blasted snow!"

She glanced at the man who had spoken before giving him a brief nod.

"Yes... Yes, its fine. Just help me up, will you?"

Ms Herondale,

I’ve accepted your application, but please note I had to make a small adjustment to your levels. We request that the lowest ability must be at least half of the highest, so I changed your Charms to 11, and Summoning to 6. This little change meets the requirement!

Everything else was absolutely lovely, and you’re all ready to start posting in Elsewhere! Can't wait to see you there!

C. Kedding
