Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.
Name: Marlena Flair

Birthday: 8 June 1933

Hometown: London, England

Bloodline:
Pureblood (part-goblin, previously approved through Zedric family lineage)

Magical Strength (pick one):
Conjuring & Summoning

Magical Weakness (pick one):
Transfiguration

Year (pick two): First Year, Second Year

Biography:
Born to Zedric and Elizabeth Flair in June of 1933, Marlena made a big splash as the first child of the next generation of Flairs and Savages. Her spunky personality stems from her free reign she has been given across the Flair Manor. Her exuberant and bright attitude has won her favor with everyone in her family. Almost everyone. Her great-great-grandfather, Jaikric Flair. The patriarch is a cold, bitter old man. Most of the family can't wait for him to move on to the afterlife. Marlena's cutesy answers to big life questions and interest in books were not enough to warm up his cold heart.

She is a bit spoiled by the lot of her family. Taking after her father's side, she's thicker yet shorter than the average child her age. Her younger brother, Brokric, lucked out and took after their mother's side. Marlena is not really aware that she's a heftier girl than the others; although, once she gets closer to her teenage years, that might become an issue.

Unlike her father, she doesn't seem to care about being treated like a small person or a child. She loves the attention, no matter if its at her own expense. She loves reading, writing, and pretending. Her best friend is her younger brother Brokric, who gets her to step outside of her comfort zone.

Her wit is slowly growing. She still doesn't quite get how to be funny, like most children, but she has written a few creative shortbooks for her family that have been quite original. Her favorite story she came up with was about a little girl with a goat for a best friend. The they both loved to sing (or bleat), and the goat let her ride him around their land. The villain of the plot was her great-great grandfather who tried to sell the goat because he was a better singer than the girl.

When she gets accepted into Hogwarts, she hopes to take after the majority of her family and reside in Ravenclaw. Hufflepuff seemed like a joke to her, and the remaining two houses seemed like they were too proud for their own good.

Please reply to one of the Sample Roleplays below.
Marlena was ill-prepared for the insanity that accompanied the school's wizarding sport. "You would think the winners would get golden mansions in the sky from how important these fools seem to think it is," she muttered. Walking past the entrance, she saw that large groups of students were forming in the Great Hall. She stepped down the corridor and turned to observe one of the paintings.

It still weirded her out that they moved and talked. So many other kids immediately fell in love with the them. Se grimaced, thinking of how horrible it must be for the paintings, trapped forever inside the mystical world. She sometimes noticed a painting was empty. One of these days, she'd work up the nerve to talk with them about it. That seemed like the rational thing to do.

The sound of laughter rained down the hallway. "Why can everyone else be so happy, but I have to force a grin?" she implored. With that, she turned and continued down the hallway. She hadn't noticed the second year in front of her, until he screamed.

"WHAT! Haven't you ever seen a loser before? Why don't you just take a picture!"

Marlena was immediately taken aback. There was no need for such emotion. She paused, mouth agape, thinking of how to respond to such an outburst. "Have you looked in the Great Hall lately?" The corner of her mouth curled up. "We're surrounded by them." At once, she felt shame for slandering her classmates. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said such hurtful things about them." Her cheeks reddened.

It was then that she recognized the boy. "Aren't you James, the Quidditch player?" she asked hesitantly. Marlena had forced herself to watch the game, hoping to find some amusement in it. "Don't worry about that. You're learning." Unsure of what to say, she tried for an encouraging tone, "I'm sure you'll only get better. Sometimes, I try to be happy when going through hard things because that attitude produces patience and experience."

She looked the upset boy over. He was in a sad state. "Hey, I can't even ride a broom yet. If you want to know who the loser is, you're looking at her." She smiled up at him, "Would you want to go read in the library with me? Maybe a good book will take your mind off of the game." The suggestion would hopefully bring the boy out of his stupor.
