Biography: (100 words minimum.)

”Why can’t you be more like your brother?”

Zavier heard that phrase for the first time when he was five years old. To a five year old, being asked why he couldn’t be more like a two year old, was really confusing. Did his father want him to go back to barely being able to talk or walk? Did he want to have two sons with the same needs at the same time? Not that his father helped out with much of the caring for them.

It didn’t matter that Zavier didn’t really understand the words at that time. He would hear them hundreds more over the next several years and when the young boy was around eight he finally realised why his father loved Maverick more.

It turned out that Zavier was not born with the same ability that his father, his grandfather and many other fathers before that were born with. It turned out that Maverick was born with that ability. It was supposed to be Zavier’s birthright and his younger brother had somehow managed to steal it from him.

Zavier could not change his appearance at will and was therefore not as important to his father as Maverick was. The bitterness Zavier felt created a rift between the brothers that only grew as they did. Zavier’s anger was matched by his brother’s arrogance and superiority.

There were few people Zavier felt he could turn to. His mother was a lot more nurturing than his father but she was also very timid and Zavier could see that she sometimes felt torn between protecting him and standing by her husband’s side. Zavier hated that she had to make that choice.

When things became particularly bad, Zavier had two places to escape to. There were two portkeys kept in his room that each led to one of his best friend’s house. Their families always welcomed him. Their families didn’t care that he wasn’t born the way his family had expected him to.

He was, at the very least, still a Pureblood.

Roleplay:
Reply as your character to the following:

Godric Park.

Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.

"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.

Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.

Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.  "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?"

Roleplay Response:
The bright blue sky bothered him.

Blue was one of his favourite colours, just in deeper tones. Cobalt or the darkest blue of the night sky before it turned completely black. This clear blue sky above him as he scuffed his shoes along the ground with each step was too happy and Zay was not happy.

He never really was, he was just
extremely unhappy today. Godric’s Park in Hogsmeade was a stupid place to be. They lived just outside of London, for Merlin’s sake. He did not understand what they were doing in this filthy place.

Nevermind that he was covering his shoes in as much of that filth as he could as he roamed along, the voices of happy children piercing his ears. This was not the kind of music he wanted to listen to.

Zavier groaned out loud when one child shouted out to another, yet he kept on his path around the park, trying his best to tune it all out. It didn’t work because suddenly there was a little girl standing near him and asking if he wanted to play. He winced at the shrillness of her voice (mostly just to show his annoyance, he was friends with girls and was used to the high pitch some of them could reach).

“Do I want to play?” He looked her over with a sneer on his lips. “Only if we play dead. I’ll start.”

Maybe if he just threw himself to the ground and didn’t move for a while she’d go away.
